Unless us Americans are willing to work their labor rates, that won't happen any time soon....

The person who called me earlier this week was very rude. I said I could not do a shop and she kept asking "why not?"after I told her I did not have time. I finally hung up.

Did this scheduler introduce herself as "market force". And not use a real name? If so that is hoepw she is. She also randomly schedules shoppers for shops they never accepted. She has offered me the same bonus as last time then when I long in ,it is half of what I made previously. Last week we had bad weather and flooding. I tried my go to schedulers but they weren't available, so I was forced to call her. I explained the situation, she supposedly wrote in to her supervisor l. I checked and only 2 of my 3 shops had been changed so I called bk. She said yep, that is what the supervisor said, and couldn't change the other shop but would write to supervisor again. After an hour I wrote into the help desk since they ask us not to cancel do to weather but reschedule when we can. About 2 hours later I received a call from one of my go to schedulers who was calling for another shop. I explained what was going on, she said, I changed it. I thought I heard wrong...nope she had indeed changed it for me that quick. I honestly don't know why they keep the other scheduler around. One time she called and asked if I could do a shop. It was the last day of the month. I explained I had another shop in another direction she said well... there are 24 hours in a day right? Can't you do both. She makes turning down shops difficult. I have her number in my phone, and a special name for her so I know immediately who it is when she calls.

I don't bother answering the calls anymore, I can't understand a single word they are saying, the English is very poor at best.
All you have to say is 'I'll do the shop for $75' and they say 'Ok !'

Hey! I'm sorry I can not talk anymore because my refrigerator is running down the street and I have to go catch it.
Mod note: Post removed as it breached the Forum guideline which states, "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies". Additionally, it is usually an ICA violation to name both the MSC and client.
I checked their board today and saw shop that due that weekend that is a minute drive from my home for $8.00 fee plus reimbursement. I thought I may do it if they will call me about such one. They called me 20 minutes after that and offered it for $10.00 fee, I asked for $12.00 and got it..

Yes, click on the job. They see that you've clicked on it. Then they know you're interested. I'm pretty sure anyway. Unless there's a lot of coinkidinkies going on. I click, they call soon after.
I used to work for MK years ago when they were a merchandising company. They went out of business while I still worked for them, and never got paid my last check. So just watch them.
Who is MK? MarketForce has never gone out of business.

There was one to find out about which smart phone the associate would recommend. They were offered at $14. For the past two years they are offered at $9. I do not do them. You have to complete it on the day that you are assigned even if it means waiting for two hours or coming back. You cannot reschedule. They will take it off your account without penalty However I can get $12 or $15 smart phone recommendation shops which have time limits and will pay at least 1/2 the shop fee. Funny thing is, the $9 shops go quickly.

$400 a month would be great wages in the Phillipines. That is less than what they make in Costa Rica, which is $700 plus the aginaldo, which is an extra month's salary near Christmas time.

When someone from Market Force calls to try to get me to do a shop, they just want to raise the Shopper's Fee. Nothing about a bonus is mentioned. Do they offer a separate bonus for a hamburger chain or is it just a small increase for the Shopper's Fee from $6.00 to $9.00 or $10.00? They pay for the shopper's food, but they do not pay for your companion so the shopper has to pay to get the companion's food. By the time you buy gas and your companion a burger, you lose money. The upscale restaurant shops cover the food for the shopper and the companion.
I am still getting the same bonuses as before. If they're from a foreign call center they'll try to get me to accept less, but almost always end up giving me what I want. What I find weird is getting requests to do jobs I've never seen posted before.

I keep seeing that "argument." However, what's missing is that none of us are living or shopping in the Philippines. No one in any city or state in the US or Canada can live in $400 a month.
To me their raised fee is the bonus, just make sure you see it in writing with the updated shop confirmation. If the overall cost of the fee/reimbursement doesn't cover your expenses and you are not alright with that then maybe this shop isn't for you. I find the burger shop to be profitable and I get a full meal for 2 people. It helps that I have many nearby and can still get a bonus with profit.

MF does not appear to use the term "bonus." Shopper fee is increased, usually in petty increments as low as $0.25, and then capped out on the on-line board.

The shopper fee is upped to a certain limit per shop (usually tops out at at about $18 for the burger shops). Sometimes they will offer more if the weekend shopping time is past (usually Tuesday for the fast-casual burger joint shops) either on the call or on the "make an offer" shopper portal button.

Still, the maximum shopper fee is usually limited to the highest any individual shopper has received for any given location. I am all for "helping them out," but I am running a business myself and will not drop everything for $2 more on any shop for any company for any reason. And, I absolutely will not be guilted or shamed into rejecting a dollar or two more for a shop -- it's MF's urgency, not mine.

It's not all they can comprehend, but they are only allowed to say what they are only allowed to say. I worked at Greyhound, at the call center, and we had very strict guidelines that we had to follow. Many, many, many customers would get all huffy and puffy when they had to listen to the formed sentences and responses I was required. I wanted to crawl through the phone and throttle them. Even though they were speaking over me, I had to close my eyes and give them the spiel, including all disclaimers or I would be fired. It's no different for them.

Well, if "many, many, many customers" were upset, then the problem is with Greyhound -- not you or the customers.

If the script is causing that much stress, then it's a bad script and should be scrapped. Easy, but many companies never figure this out and hire expensive consulting companies to tell them what any of use would tell them for free.
Yes, that's correct. I took that job for the six weeks of the summer my daughter was in college and had to take a summer class to get back on track because her dad was threatening to stop his half of the payments. Now, they are more talk story and stop talking when the customer blabbers on about their personal lives. Still, if you get a booking within a certain amount of minutes you get the bonus!
How do you connect with schedulers on Market Force? All I see are piddly paying self assign shops on the website. I signed up with them after a scammer contacted me by email saying they were paying $100-$500 a shop. I trashed the first email but responded halfway to the follow-up, just enough to give them some of my contact information. I can't even get a response from them on their Facebook page.
You can't get a response from who on Facebook? MarketForce is notoriously low paying. The only way you are going to get more than the piddly amounts is if shops sit undone.

I just got the call from MF that I get every weekend to do the weekly burger place. But the visit is 30 miles from me. They paid me $25 the first time to do the job. However, I have noticed the offers are much lower since then & unless I can combine it with another company then I do. But not today. I got the gal that said my name wrong then tried to tell me I had it spelled wrong. She is really not doing a good job trying to get me to help. I was offered $15 to do the shop either today or tomorrow. I stated I was not available. She then asked me "doing what?" I replied it is none of your business what I am doing. I am not available to do the shop and I do not have to disclose to you why or where or what I am doing. As you have no say in my personal life. I ended up hanging up on her. To say I was taken back by her question, even after hearing about it on here. I am adopting the phone list someone else mentioned. Thank you for the heads up on the reasoning for the super low offers. Last weekend, they called me on Saturday to do the shop on Sun, or Monday. I declined money was not high enough. The guy asked about Monday, I declined due to work. He called me again on Sunday asking me to do the shop on Monday. I really should have blocked his number. Btw, has MF moved out of GA? I never hear from anyone calling from the 770 area code any more.
Doesn't all that make you wonder if the outsourced call center employees even understand the concept of an independent contractor? They certainly don't get the concept of time as money for ICs because it takes forever for them to get to the point.

Funny you mentioned that. I've never been asked why I can't do a shop before yesterday. She asked if I could not do the shop because I was working for another company. I'm not offended by it. I'm wondering if now they are asking as a poll. They are based out of Colorado but they have schedulers in Georgia, as far as I know. I saved all of the numbers when they call me and I can call the US scheduler to see if they can offer any better when the overseas callers call. The US schedulers aren't tied to the call center verification process and all of it's verbology, but the PI schedulers are. I've been to the PI and it is an excellent culture with beautiful and intelligent people. As much as an average Intuit call center employee can't give you 70% discount on the latest quickbooks and have to give their spiel, so do these people.

MF is based in Colorado. Shop'n check, which was based in GA, was bought by MF some years ago. I believe there are a few MF employees still in GA -- one is a senior supervisor.

The overseas calls come from area code 925 (CA). It's technically illegal to spoof one's caller ID number, but the Caller ID name shows up as Martinez CA or Market Force.
Most of my us based scheduler contacts have a 770 or 678 area code. And they are all great people to work with. They are all unhappy with MF's changes too.
