Sinclair Customer Metrics not paying as promised

Hello all, Beware of promises made by schedulers for Sinclair. Apparently they have schedulers who promised bonuses and scheduled shops that Sinclair does not honor. These were actually offered on sinclair's emails and were posted to my board. I did the shops and debriefed them but only got paid for half of them. And I didn't get paid the full amount promised on any of them. this happened back in October and it's now New Year's and I still haven't been paid. Sinclair is aware of the situation in fact if you call them and describe the situation they know who the scheduler was and they know what happened but they're not standing behind their schedulers. I was given two different emails of people to discuss this with and have received no return emails from either party. I delayed saying anything hoping they would work this out but it now appears they have no interest in following through on what their scheduler promised to do. They claim their schedulers are independent contractors and they're not responsible for what their own schedulers promised Shoppers.

I have had nothing but positive, professional interactions with the Sinclair scheduler whom I work with and nothing but on time (and occasionally) early payment from their accounts payable department.

Yes. this is the first time I've ever had problems with them either that's why I was so surprised. they know about the problem. they know it's not the shoppers' fault. And there must be a lot of people affected because when I called they immediately know what I was talking about when I start describing it even before I identified myself. Yet they don't seem to feel it's their problem that their shoppers are not being taken care of and they don't even respond to the emails that I was told to send. I didn't want to identify the scheduler because I don't know all the rules on that type of thing, but as soon as I called Sinclair and told them the problem they told me the scheduler and they were correct.

It doesn't matter if Sinclair's schedulers were independent contractors or employees. You as a third-party relied on their information and the Sinclair is more than likely liable for the extra incentive pay. Keep pressing them for your pay.

I know nothing more about Sinclair than I know about you - nothing. So, I'm looking at this pretty neutrally.

I have the sense there must be something more to this story.
* What, specifically, were you told when you called? Were you told you were supposed to be paid or were you given a reason for non-payment?
* Is the scheduler still scheduling for them?
* Is there a chance that you did more shops than what you were eligible to complete?
* How long has it been since you last sent an email inquiry?

From all you have stated, it sounds like they owe you money. The first thing you need to make sure you have done is printed out all the emails, assignment sheets, etc. on which it states that you have been contracted to do the work and have submitted the work. I'd give them another week - to get passed the holidays - and then send a certified letter. Include copies of your paperwork and ask for either explanation for the non-payment, or the payment itself. If you get no response or if the response is not satisfactory, send another and mention small claims court.

Hello, I originally responded to an email offering $27 per shop. There was a list of about 30 shop to choose from. I wrote back that I could do five the one day and one the next and asked how many could be done in one day. The scheduler told me that at that point they needed them done and I could do up to five per day. The scheduler put them on my board. I did the shops. I debriefed the shops. When my pay came I only got paid $17 per shops and I only got paid for three shops. when I looked on my account three of the shops have disappeared completely off my board. That's when I start calling and emailing. My most recent contact was when I emailed them about a week ago and heard nothing back. I sent the email to an address that I was given by the secretary who told me that this person was handling that account. No response. I followed all the instructions given and the company is saying that those shops are only for $17 each and that the scheduler was an independent contractor who should not have made another offer. I have no idea if that person still works there.

I also should note that when The other three shots were taken off my board after I completed them and debriefed them, Sinclair did not notified me that they were doing this and never gave me a reason why those shops were removed.

Give the project manager another week to respond - it's the holidays and entirely possible that your email has simply not yet been received by the appropriate person. Thereafter, I'd go the certified letter route - send your letter to the company president, owner, or whatever the top dog is called. Make sure you have printed off the email exchange promising the $27 and any email confirmations that you had been assigned the shops.

You are talking about $111 if I am understanding correctly. To Sinclair, this is nothing and, if your analysis is accurate/correct, there is no reason not to pay you. It is very possible that the scheduler and/or project manager are trying to bury a mistake. The company president won't want to deal with that, especially when you were contracted to be paid and fulfilled your obligation.

Thank you. yes that is the exact number that I figured also. I have been Shopping full time for four years now and $111 isn't the end of the world to me either. I mostly wrote this to caution other shoppers against taking the word of schedulers from this company because apparently this company doesn't honor commitments made by their schedulers and for some people this amount of money would be significant. and yes I have everything in writing including all of the emails and the texts that were sent back-and-forth between myself and the scheduler. at this point I've received nothing in writing from the company concerning this matter because they have not responded to any of my emails.

Thank you for this info. This is one of the reasons that I always copy the shop fee and info on the MSCs website that is on my dashboard. If the scheduler is an IC or not, once it's on my dashboard it's an offer from the company itself. I mean, I don't both copying from MF and intelli. They are cheap but pay what they say.

Yeah. I was surprised because several people said good things about this company. I only ever used them once before. And with as much as I've had to fight just to try to get my money I think I'm done using them. Same thing happened with Cirrus. if you have to fight with the companies to get paid it's not worth working for them there are enough other companies that actually pay you what they say they will and you don't have to go through 25 people and 50 emails to get paid

I'm sorry but I find this hard to believe. I shopped for them for over 2 years and never had a single problem. In fact I was once paid by them for a shop that the client rejected, because it was not my fault.

I would gladly show you the email offerings and the checks i received. I would also show you their responses to my inquiries but there have not been any. Not sure what else to say.

Just as an update. I never got paid. I never got a response from any of the people I talked to at Sinclair. The email addresses they gave me are now bouncing back so none of them are working. I assume the schedule I know longer works there because her email address now bounces back. I will be reporting this to MSPA and obviously not doing anymore work for this company

Try sending a certificated letter to Robert Sinclair. Be professional and include copies of your email correspondence that show what you are due. Use the address on their contact page.

I am interested to know if you have been paid as agreed. I received a phone call today from a scheduler at Sinclair, offering a bonused shop. I have no email documentation, as I have not yet received the promised email. It sounds like that even with an email documentation, you still were not being paid the bonus as agreed.

Wondering if I should cancel, now.

There are no financial issues with Sinclair. I worked for them since 1999. Still getting paid in full and on time every month.

There is an issue with them not honoring the agreements their scheduler are making with shoppers. That is a financial issue.

No. I never did get paid in full. The same schedule or sent me another offer through a different company and I asked about the money from Sinclair and never got a response so I would guess it’s never going to happen

I kind of gave up on it figuring I’ve got enough other companies to work for I’m not gonna worry about them. I just don’t do work for them anymore. I really didn’t do much for them before that

As to the documentation, Sinclair didn’t care about the documentation. I sent copies of all the emails and all the offers, but just got transferred from person to person with no one taking accountability.

I’m not at home which is where the documentation is and I can’t exactly remember the name. I remember the scheduler had their own logo which had something to do with private eyes. And the schedulers initials were either CC, SS, or CS. I’m sorry I just don’t remember. When I get home on Friday I will get the information out and look it up

yes. that is the name. as far as Sinclair not being at fault, I do hold them at fault at this point. The scheduler was working for them. Sinclair had given the scheduler access to my name and my number and my information including access to my job board. So if the scheduler ends up being a flake, the company should take it upon themselves to make sure that Shoppers Who fulfilled their end of the bargain should be fully compensated. It’s just good business practice

At this point I’m only out a total of $70. Not a big deal to me, but also not a big deal to Sinclair. I’m sure it’s costing them more than $70 by the simple fact that we are having this discussion right now. Who knows how many other potential Shoppers’ are reading this and refused to work for them because of the $70 that I’ve never been paid?

Good point. I haven't done work for Sinclair in a few years, but I always was scheduled by in-house schedulers who worked for the company, not third party schedulers. I worked for them for about a decade and got paid like clockwork. Sad to hear that this happened to you.
