IPSOS

I noticed that Kim placed the $15 shops into a bundle of 4 but that did not increase the pay $60 for 4.
When I got the email, I figured they were actually bonusing them. Silly me. No, now you must take four shops instead of one. Trying to decide whether the scheduler is stupid or is counting on shoppers being so.

Sorry that happened, same story for me...important to tell these things on forum.......boycotting does no good, always another naive shopper lurking.

Maritz had the same shops late last year. They were for the company (client) on the IPSOS assignment as well as their competitors. Same thing, although you had to take 5, you needed to complete a report for each shop and then a comparison report. The comparison report, I thought, was easy. They were also $15 each. I took a bundle because they were all in the Mall and located practically next door to each other or upstairs-downstairs. I knew they were all open because, you know, they were all in the Mall.

Do you have the guidelines? Do they say if you can't complete one because it's close or, I don't know, there was a fight or robbery, that you wouldn't get paid for any?

I'm pretty sure Judith, @ Summit Scheduling, has been on here and has been very helpful.
I read the "new" instructions and they say if closed, you won't get paid because you need to call all before going.
I read instructions and didn't read that, seems to me they changed, and from what several have said they did get paid, you could call a large store and not get an answer. Usually when store is closed, a pic will get a little pay. Seems many are looking for a way to not pay.

I did call and no one answered. Do they want us to contact them if that happens? If so, would they have told me not to do any of the four shops? Are they going to use any of my information? I have always thoroughly enjoyed working for IPSOS but this situation has me upset. I wish someone would contact me.

Go to their instructions, it now says closed shop will not be paid. You should get paid for jobs you did.....

I cannot understand a rule where you get paid nothing if you call and then go over and find the place closed. In many cases when i call a retail establishment, especially a small place, the one or two people who work there are often busy with customers and do not pick up the phone. So do you just abandon 5 or 6 shops a week because no one answered. What about the time you spent reading the rules and finding the number and calling several times? And it seems they will have many cancelled shops that way that they now have to reschedule.
Two weeks ago I took a shop (not Ipsos) that had only reimbursement for product. They said if they were out of product you should buy something else to prove you were there. There was no pay. I wrote them and suggested they pay for your time to go over and seek their product. They promptly added some pay in this instance. Now that is a company I like that I will never deactivate from even though they have had no shops I like for a year until this one came along.
Because we are considered suckers, in these cases. Because they can. Because, even though their guidelines do not state that you will not be paid for a closed location (or out of required purchase), their guidelines do not state that you will not be paid either. It's to be inferred, that if you can not complete the assignment, even for reasons out of your control that you will not be paid unless it's stipulated in the shop guidelines.
I got a response a full 24 hours later with an apology that my email was found in her spam folder. She still says because I did not contact her when I saw the store was closed, I won’t get paid for any of my work. So if I had contacted her immediately when I found the closed store and waited to find out what to do next, how soon would I have heard back? 24 hours? She would have suggested either doing my final store anyway (which I did), or not (In which case, I provided her with extra information she doesn’t have to use). Would I have been paid and if so, how much? Do they want us to contact them if we can’t get someone on the phone before doing the shop? If so, would they cancel that shop or still have us get the photo to prove it? For $15 I can say, Lesson learned. For $60 and most of my day, not so much!
That's BS, I contacted her immediately and didn't get paid even though I did report, . She told me she answered me right away (3 days later) and I need to check my spam or change my filters. I always check my spam. She also removed my report so i can't prove I did it. I would fight it with a higher up, you need to get paid for work done.

Well, I'm in the same spot. Yesterday I did my 4 shops, or tried to. Two of my stores were not there. The first address was a private residence. Geesh, you would think they would know the addresses of the places they want shopped. I contacted the scheduler immediately. After a scolding about not calling first (no number could be found for one and the other took a lot to find the number to find out it was a Boost Mobile store) he told me I wouldn't be paid if I did not complete all four shops. He told me to Google another store nearby and send him the address when I got home. I did that, making my planned route A LOT longer. So, it was late when I got home..after 8 PM. Well, no response now and the shop is overdue. I felt like I wanted to abort after the first shop was a house, but finished the shops..PITA. However, I decided I'm not going to fill in the lengthy reports until I hear back with the changed addresses. I don't have a good feeling about this. Doing four plain 'ole cell shops would have been much easier. I did the competitive group last year for Maritz also and they were smooth sailing. I think IPSOS has a lot of bad addresses on their lists. I know it's my fault for not calling ahead before I left, but, well, I didn't. So, if it goes south, I guess it's on me. Meanwhile along the way, I did one of the easiest $35 retail shops ever and was kicking myself with these dumbass cell shops.

For Maritz, it was 4 comparison shops and total fee $75.00. So, that is a shame on these schedulers. If they are in fact the ones who determine the pay. I can't imagine that IPSOS, the company, would not pay according to the work. However, even after working in mystery shopping and merchandising for many, many years, I get a nice heck of a shock pretty much daily or weekly.
While I am sorry to hear of the difficulty with these shops, I am extremely grateful for the warning. I overall love working for IPSOS and I would not have worried a bit about doing any shops for them, but after reading this...shame on them.
Because of the difficulty of getting a phone call to the shop answered. I rarely call anymore. When I get a new assignment like that I always save the instructions and the completed forms for my records. that way if they delete the records I will just send them an email of the shop that I had done.
It's the client that wants all 4 or none at all, I'm sure. I think MsJudi is correct, in that someone, maybe the client and maybe IPSOS received or create a list of stores that is old and outdated. Maybe the project manager for the client has an outdated list. These are absolutely not our liability, these are theirs. Especially if there are not instructions as to what to do with a closed location. Most especially, when their Client's owner can vacation with Mariah Carey et al and they want to gyp us out of our hard earned money!
Yep, I’m not getting paid. I was just sent the copy of the guidelines which state you have to verify all 4 locations are open by phone AND website before starting the shop. I was telling my daughter about my predicament and she immediately said, “You would think that it would be the MSC’s job to verify the locations are open.” You would think....
And now to add insult to injury, at least two of the stores I did yesterday are posted for the regular one shot deals @ $25 each. Bah. Would have been sooo much easier and better paying. Live and learn

Would have been better to let you shop them and keep a good shopper happy.....

I just did a shop for them without a reminder, but it went well, doing report now.

I actually do like this company very much. I think this may be a new to them project and the quirks haven't been worked out, or they're using the shoppers to determine the closed locations for them, which isn't very nice. But overall, they are a great company with lots of work in my area.

I had a shop It was closed they even had the name taken off the building. Before I picked the shop I asked the scheduler what if it is closed or out of business she answered if the job is posted go ahead and select it I did I told her I tried calling and nobody answered. Well now it says on hold. I replied to her on the email she sent me about if the job is posted go ahead and select it. She answered and asked if I tried calling I did and it just rand no answer. I replied a couple of more times no response from her.
