A CLOSER LOOK = massive scheduler emails

Is there a way to turn off email notifications from A Closer Look? ACL has new schedulers who are enthusiastically sending a massive number of emails. I'm overwhelmed, especially because all the shops they are emailing about are sitting on the Job Board and I have already seen them AND because they are sending individual emails for EACH client location. I'm sure they are excited and enthusiastic and think they are really hitting it. I find it beyond annoying. I don't want to deactivate and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but I don't want all those emails. I've gotten 24 emails so far today between 9AM and 4PM. I've searched the ACL website and I can't see a place to stop email notification. Does anybody know?

If ACL is a Sassie shopper then the link should be in the email itself. if it is something else then sorry no clue here.

Unfortunately you have to suspend your account to opt out of emails with their system. I literally created a separate gmail account just for ACL and have all the mail sent there, and just check it if want or have an assignment with them.
Thanks, Steve. I will do that. They have always sent a lot of emails but this last week it's just been crazy annoying. Maybe it's because they seem to be getting more and more clients they are having difficulty getting shoppers to schedule. It's like they are panting with desperation and they are going to bombard all the shoppers with all the unpopular shops until somebody takes them.
I don't get any emails from ACL, even if there are messages from the editors.

I do what i've always done, which is to send them all to the spam folder. It works great for me. I just browse the spam folder a few times a day. The folder deletes the email themselves. In my regular inbox i only accept emails from msc/schedulers i want to see.
You shouldn’t need to create a separate email account. Just make a folder for ACL, then make a rule that routes their emails to that folder instead of your inbox. At least you can do that with gmail and yahoo.
I am actually happy with the emails since it is for shops that have never been offered to me before. Feel like the last scheduler didn't like me very much so I was only sent stuff as a last resort.
Rather than create a separate email, create a folder for ACL within your e-mail. Once you have the folder created then set up a rule to have all of their e-mail’s sent to the folder. You won’t see them unless you go into the ACL folder.
ACL does not use Sassie.

I actually find it funny how many emails I get from a closer look. A lot of them mention how I’m a top shop And critical. But, truth be told no matter how often I step in and help out. No matter how many times I take a shop that
Honny and I are in the same schedulers' areas for ACL. I get a few emails, mostly summarizing a lot of shops within my stated radius, but not usually emails for just one shop. Maybe we have better organized schedulers? They also seem to be quite responsive to any requests that I may make for different dates or to change an established date that I has previously accepted.

Maybe that is the answer. But it's too bad there is no oversight by ACL to counsel the less organized schedulers, because annoying your shoppers and having them see an ACL email and think: "%#$*& ANOTHER *&%$# ACL email!" is probably not the image ACL is going for. I don't mind the daily "There are shops in your area" that list several shops. I wouldn't even mind getting two or 3 of those multiple shop emails. But I'm getting single emails for every client and every location, and these are shops that are clearly already available on the job Board. Two particular schedulers are responsible for all the emails and one sends most of them. I see her name and immediately delete.

Like canadianghetto, I would probably not mind as much if I were being offered shops I'd never seen before, but that's not the case. These are jobs that have been sitting on my Job Board and I already know I don't want them.

I think these may be new schedulers who think shoppers work only for ACL and are probably sitting home waiting to hear from them so they can grab those shops and run out and do them. It makes me want to reply to each email to let the scheduler understand the massive volume and how annoying it is. I won't, but it makes me kind of laugh to think about doing it.
I rarely get calls from the schedulers there.

Notwithstanding, ACL's policy established last year, to have geographically based scheduling, I am facing multiple e-mails everyday from an ACL scheduler other than the one assigned to me. I have every one of them filter directly to trash and deal only with the scheduler assigned to me. It really irks me not only that they engage schedulers who attempt to encroach on one anther's territory but also schedulers who think that e-mail blasts are preferable to established relationships.

It also amazes me that some schedulers are so unprofessional to send e-mail blasts which are duplicates of their prior e-mails as well as what is openly advertised on their website. If e-mailing to schedule a shop, one should offer an additional enticement rather than simply screaming for help.

I am in a region where I have 5 or 6 ACL schedulers because of the strange way they cut the geography. It makes it a lot harder for me since doing work for one schedulers doesn't help me with requests to another scheduler. So, I can't just work with one scheduler. I need to work with many to get jobs I really want. I learned this the hard way where I saw jobs taken that never were open posted.

I think like most MSCs, ACL admin are pretty aggressive to ACL schedulers to get shops scheduled. The issue is ACL has so many shops, many are reimburse only and they are so different in amount of work versus benefit value.

^^ THIS ^^

Unless I have a relationship with a scheduler and owe her a favor (or can reasonably assume she will reciprocate), screaming for help is useless. Show me the money - and I don't mean a $2 bonus.

"Let me offer you my definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn. Do you disagree? Well then tell me how much of what I earn belongs to you - and why?” ~Walter Williams
I don't mind the current amount of emails (and the occasional texts and calls) I currently get from ACL. I am just glad that an awful scheduler seems to have been replaced.

One thing I would like to change is I wish some editors would simply send me one email when they need clarification or additional information from me, instead of sending me one email with the relevant questions and another email at almost the same time -- simply to say they have sent me an email and could I please respond.

Yep, I get that nonsense too. Often with a voice mail tossed in too. It is as if they are yelling for not getting back to them within two seconds. Such expectations are not professional and only add to the already long list of reasons I avoid working for ACL without better than average bonuses from them.
I use to be a scheduler for A Closer Look for 3 months. Trust me when I say they do not care about the amount of emails they make us send to shoppers on a daily basis. Schedulers have tried to say something to them before about not inundating the shoppers with emails and their answer was keep sending them we must fill the shops.

Yes, I really hate that there are 20 emails for 20 different locations of the same client. Would be much better to have 1 email that lists the 20, like other MSCs do.

they lose schedulers left and right because they expect you to work 7 days a week 4-5 hours a day or more and harass people to take shops and if you don't get them filled they are on you like white on rice.

Also, ACL does not pay bonuses that are competitive with what other MSC's are giving in my area. This hamstrings the schedulers and sets them up for failure in my region. It is not uncommon for several shops to go un-completed every month here in western Oklahoma. Marketforce and Maritz pay up to 4 times more for shops that take half the time of the ACL options in my area.
It depends on the schedulers. In my area, the schedulers change constantly. I do shops with reasonable schedulers. My current scheduler sends emails often that say, "Last minute cancellation, can you help me with this shop?" I won't even respond because I know I am being lied to. That plus the bonuses don't exist.
Stop the insanity!!!!! I keep telling my scheduler to stop to no Noah Vale. You know him?
