GFK cancelled my shop while I was submitting.

This company is very quirky. They will have open assignments you apply or self assign then days later they will tell you that they were filled. Finally, a decent bonus shop opened up, i self assigned and got the job it was on the way to another job. The guidelines stated submit by midnight. The scheduler told me later she sent me a note stating it had to be done by 10 pm she did not. I wrote up other shop first it was quick. This was detailed, for GFK, I submitted shop then immediately the shop was deleted. She finally answered my email and said i didn't do it within the time constraints. Yes I did. I have never seen a company delete an open job that was assigned before the job expired. This is horrid business practice, now she wants me to go ahead and resubmit the job. I spent an hour reading guidelines and passing certification another 20 minutes driving to the shop, another 30, minutes doing the shop and almost 45 minutes writing it up the first time. I decided to cut my losses and deactivated myself out of their system.

First, why have you posted this three times?

Second, did you not save your original survey before submitting it? If you did, it shouldn't take long to re-input and submit. I agree that if you didn't get her e-mail stating that it had to be submitted by 10 p.m., that's a rough situation. Personally, I've never had a GFK shop that had to be submitted earlier than midnight of the day of the shop, and have received extensions when I was doing a late-night shop at a distant location. So that sounds weird to me. .

I posted once it replicated. I tried to see how to delete maybe you can tell me how to do that I'm new to this forum. I submitted the shop and information then she completely deleted the shop out of the system totally, you cannot resubmit what no longer exists. I submitted at 11:45 pm she deleted the job after i submitted at 11:47 pm. She cancelled then deleted entirely. It seem very hokey to me. I've completed over 500 shops through various companies.
Did you check your junk mail in case a note was landed there instead of your main inbox?

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
Yep the first thing i did was a search through all email. I won a million dollars and someone in the UK wants to date me. That was all. But ty for your advice.
@VirtualMarsha - right after you submit a shop for any MSP that uses Sassie, a box pops up asking if you want to save a PDF file of your report. ALWAYS click "Yes". winking smiley
Unless the guidelines state email communications take precedence, your obligation is to complete the shop AND report according to them and written GFK policy. The scheduler could have asked for confirmation you received the email overriding the guidelines if it was critical the shop be turned in two hours early. I would certainly be ticked off. Before deactivating, I would also have resubmitted the survey to at least recoup something.

Thank you, Lisa, I would have resubmitted but the crazy thing is she canceled then fully deleted it off the job board. I have never seen that done before. Her reasoning was that I didn't submit it two hours earlier, referencing a nonexistent email she sent I am lodging a complaint with the MSC.
I may have misunderstood. I thought your first post stated that the scheduler asked you to re-submit the shop and you were thinking it was a waste of time.

I would pursue this with someone higher up at GFK. After what some shoppers went through with them a few years back, you'd think they would do whatever they could to re-establish their reputation and keep good shoppers on board.

If it’s SASSIE, they still have it.

Service Check deleted a shop I was working on and got it back for me.
So, if they still have it, has it saved the work? Since she submitted the shop and then it disappeared, they could submit it on their end, couldn't they?

My work was saved at Service Check. I don't know if that is always the case.
GFK is the worst company and payout is lower than any other companies. Stay away from this company.

That is your experience.
They paid for round trip airfare for me to do a shop in Texas though. So, not all of their shops suck.

EXACT same thing happened to me probably on the same project. And I drove 80 blankety blank miles to do this shop. After she canceled it, she had the gall to send out desperate email blasts to complete other shops in the area. GFK generally has had pleasant schedulers to work with but this latest one is completely unprofessional.

What kind of shop was this?

Retail shop. Pretty simple, but apparently, they wanted me to do it.
