On-time payments, as usual. Maybe next month, folks won't be asking why they haven't been paid before the 15th hits (actually, before the 20th, since that's technically the outside due date.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
If a company typically pays by the 10th, then it's expected people will be looking for it by then. So what if they come here to vent and ask questions. I'm not a fan of how they word their communications, though they have improved somewhat over the years.

Evaluating and mailing packages since 1994
They are so consistent with their payments that I have to give them some slack sometimes. If the MF calls ever stop coming from overseas, then I'll know the company is in trouble.

Um what?
That might be true for some people, probably very few people actually in my experience.

As a former scheduler, here is a typical demographic of a shopper who is here for more than a month or two:

retired/old people
teachers during their breaks
stay at home moms
students
relatives, friends and family of full-time shoppers (that's how they found out about this)
full time shoppers making over $2000-$3000 a month (<10% of the pool)
full-time employed doing this as a side hustle

The number of people who are in dire straights who are going to make enough to live off of is very small.

People can also stop doing work for Market Force just like me I will no longer do shops for them for people with Marketforce have bad attitudes. People do not realize that the reasons people do shops is to earn money to live off of because it is all they have and for what every reason can not get a regular job. If it fine for a person to say budget your money when you do not have any but I bet the person saying that has money and is only doing the shops for a little extra money and is no big deal to you but it is to some people.

Even if a shopper has no job and depends on this income for a living, it makes no difference. The fact of the matter is that Market Force tells its shoppers when payments are due and payable. Most months they pay early. Sometimes they do not. Because a shopper struggles with a lack of money and can't get another job, that is no reason to be angry because once in a while the shopper doesn't get paid early and instead gets paid according to the MSC's stated terms. And if this is a shopper's only income and the shopper depends on it, why would the shopper suddenly start to refuse shops because of not getting paid early one month? Something is wrong with that logic.

I think it's probably good that you will no longer do shops for them. Somebody does have a bad attitude. I don't think it's Market Force.
I am done with MF for the year. My earnings are close to 600 without reimbursements and last year, I paid tax just for the extra $38 that I made. MF pays between the 15th to the 20th of each month. That is their policy. Nothing wrong with that.
I've never had my normal payments delayed, but MF has messed up my expenses (tolls) twice in as many months. The second time, they didn't pay, then sent me an email (and put it on my payments page) that I was paid. (I wasn't.) I contacted them and they swore they would fix it. I then got a notification that they overpaid me by about twice what I was owed. This was ALSO not actually transferred. Finally, two days before the next monthly cycle, they finally got me my tolls. I cannot help but think it was related to their bad decision to split out the expenses AND give only one day to submit for reimbursement.

Just a vent but I really believe that they need to make sure the folks answered the help desk emails are in the loop as to what is going on.

I really wish shoppers wouldn't get on here and fret about not receiving MF payments when they're technically not due yet. Who knows? Maybe they'll just stop sending payments early once in awhile so people won't complain. I've never had a late MF payment in the two+ years I've been shopping for them.

But you do know that you owe taxes on all your income, regardless of whether the income with a particular company exceeds $600 or not, right?

The $600 rule applies to the business paying you money, not to you. The IRS requires that if a business remits $600 or more to you during the tax year, it must issue you a Form 1099-MISC for that amount. You'll receive a copy of the 1099, and the IRS will receive a copy as well. If you perform work for a local business and the owner pays you $550, he doesn't have to give you a 1099, but you still have to report the income – you earned it.
Very true! I'm one of the folks in the last category. I do mystery shopping (and audits, etc) to make money to pay for my kids' medical expenses. I make way more at my regular job than I do at mystery shopping but my straight job doesn't cover everything. I need the side hustle to pay those expenses.

I'm pretty sure there are waaaaay more desperate people doing this work than everyday-average-Joe/Jane people.

You need to pay tax on $638 or $438. Just because you earn under $600 doesn’t mean it’s tax free income
Thanks for that info. I did not know that. I started mystery shopping less than 3 years ago and so far have paid taxes on all my MSC's . I was misinformed by a forum I read a month ago on taxes regarding this situation. I am glad I shared this here since I won't be making that mistake. I confirmed that with my friend too.
I think many people get the $600 stuck in their head because that's the threshold that you have to start paying self-employed taxes.

This says the self employment tax threshold is $400 and it’s net income.
