Service Check

Comments on the editing of reports. I did my first store for them today, and have a restaurant tomorrow. My report said I didn't give enough narritive, however, I did write quite a long one, as I wanted this to be a good report, and instructions said, "Report won't be accepted if too short". They seem to want more words than the employee on the floor actually gave.

Restaurant is a 50+ old time one in L.A., not fancy just a family eating house. These instructions say to compare it to Four Seasons, and other top restaurants in the city.....are you kidding me,like comparing liver to filet mignon. Comments PLEASE!!

I've done some jewelry shops for them and always get a 9 of 10 because of "minor grammatical errors" or that I didn't rewrite the answer to a yes/no question in the narrative. There's always something little that I miss. I'd also like to know what "minor grammatical errors" I keep missing. You're not alone in your frustrations.
Update, I wrote to the Editor and she wrote (in detail) and told me what their client is looking for in this shop. This was my first job for this client. I did confuse something, but now know, and feel Editor was helpful in explaining instructions, so next time, it better be a 10. The editing there is rough. They don't ask for narritives on yes answers, but do require tons of narritive in a story like way.

This sounds a little bit like Customer Service Experts. They want a summary of the entire experience in the narrative, basically recapping everything.
Similiar to CSE, shorter report, but this is a "warehouse" with not much help around, so, conversation is not fluent. They do want the entire experience in the narrative, at least Editor worked with me and accepted report.

My first experience w them was an Ashley furniture shop performed with a salesman that just wouldn't talk. I tried to draw him out but there just wasn't much there.

I wrote my report and was questioned by the editor. Ultimately, after two or three back-and-forths I was told that I probably wouldn't be paid, that the client would reject shop and given a '6'.

I've done 200+ shops and never received anything close to a six. I actually was paid and have now completed other shops for them that have been 9-10's. Perhaps they like to abuse 1st timers? Don't know.

I shop for them at least once a month, both of them. Yes, they are a lot alike. Comment on every yes or no, have not a single type, even a soft one, and gives lots of direct quotes, and you will get a 10. Miss something simple and you will get a 9. Miss something more and it's an 8 or lower. I like some of their shops, but sometimes I don't have the time to give them a 10 report, and decide to go for the 9, as the 9 will still get me the shops I want with them every month.
I started working for this company only recently. So far, so good, although I can now attest to the intricacy of the narrative! Still, I think that CSE is worse. Service Check doesn't seem to require every tiny nuance as much as a detailed overview of the visit. Hopefully, I won't be revisiting this thread with a complaint!
