Coyle expectations

Hi all,

I’m new to this forum and a new mystery shopper with Coyle. I’m getting a bit frustrated as I might be completing a shop for them this Saturday but have yet to receive confirmation from the scheduler. So what happened was I applied for a dinner shop at a hotel. The posting said the assignment could be combined with a one night hotel stay because of the remote location of the hotel. I indicated that I would be able to complete the dinner shop if I got the hotel stay. I received an email from the scheduler saying the client would allow the hotel stay and that I would need to get back to the scheduler with the most affordable rate. So I emailed the schedule back right away with the rates. It has been 2 days and still nothing. No confirmation or updates. My assignment request is still there. The shop is supposed to be scheduled for this Saturday. What do you think is going on on their end? Are they just confirming last minute things with the client? What should I expect? Is this normal? I would’ve hoped they got back to my by now. My first assignment with them was a fine dining shop and it went well.

I would withdraw/cancel the application at this point. Not worth stressing out over it if Coyle can not communicate with you in a timely manner.

I would send a follow-up email stating that you need an answer ASAP if you are going to do it this weekend.

They may be waiting for word form the hotel, or they could just be overwhelmed with requests. There are only a few schedulers and they have a lot on their plate.....you could offer a later date if they need more time as well.

The key to getting to best assignments is working productively with the schedulers and understanding that their job is also difficult. There will be a lot of frustrations down the line if you continue to shop for Coyle, so just learn to take this kind of stuff in stride if you like the assignments.
