A Closer Look Payment

I am new to Mystery Shopping and did my first shops with A Closer Look in July. I expected payment sent out August 23rd and when I did not get it they asked me to wait 30 days. I never got it and contacted them again. Now they said I have to wait for October disbursement dates. I think that kind of sucks. Is that normal? They had my correct address.

That is not normal. I may have been paid one month late once or twice (or maybe not at all and never for more than one shop - I would have received payment for the other completed shops on time), but never more than one month late. So sorry this has happened to you. Did they give an excuse for their (extreme) tardiness in providing payment?

They said they mailed it but it never came. I guess I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, just wanted to know if anyone else had issues in July.

It sounds like the check was mailed but not received, and, before issuing another check to you, ACL wans to be sure the check has not been cashed. It is actually standard procedure by most companies to not immediately issue a new check when the recipient reports it lost or not received. Any number of things might have happened or might still happen. The check may be lost in the mail and never recovered. The check may have been mis-delivered and the post office may find and correctly deliver it to you. Someone may have stolen the check and cashed it.

I have never had a problem with ACL payment, and have only very rarely heard of any problems that were not satisfactorily resolved.

I’ve never had an issue receiving my check on time. However, I have received someone else’s check along with mine. It was in the same envelope, but the checks were stuck together. I mailed the check that wasn’t mine back to ACL. ????

This happened to me only once, with my very first payment for A Closer Look. Exactly as you described, my payment did not arrive on time and I was told it was mailed but not received, and I waited till the next pay period. Since then, I have been paid on time every time.
