Oh wow. Take a look at their website [conundrumshoppers.com] It is copyright 2009 so I'm surprised we have not heard of them before this, especially since they claim they have 470,000 independent shoppers and they claim to pay $100-$170 for a 'standard assignment' in the US/Canada and that their 'standard assignment' takes 15 minutes to do with a 15-30 minute report.

My gut screams "SCAM" but well crafted. They even indicate that their payments are electronic--which avoids the standard check scams. But seeing your money may be a problem. "When do I get paid?" is listed as "Instantly". Hmmmm.

Somebody in Seattle WA want to make a field trip to 119 Cherry Street?
THX FOR THE HELP!!! And yes. I do feel they are a scam. Anyone has more info?

In my experience if they do not have a corporate registration (LLC) or a simple business license, then do not give them any personal information. I will try to get a shopper that works in the area to visit the location. But usually the licensing databases tell the story in this state.

I'm from NJ, very close to Jersey City...
well i offically fell for my first internet scam and this was it. i thought it might be a legit thing since it didnt require any personal info but i recived two moneygram money orders today and my first tip off that it was a scam was when i got the money orders and they were for 970 each! so i checked with moneygram and they confirmed them fake. they were cvs/pharmacy moneygram money orders to be exact so watch out. luckly it only cost me a little bit of my time.
singlemomma,
Not requiring any personal information is not a good test of what is or is not a legitimate MS company, since all of the legit ones need a minimumof info in order to apy you. Stick with the list on this site for openers and you will be fine. Just be aware that anyone who sends you a large payment up front is a SCAMMER!

OMG!!!! This is great information...I just received a money order from this scammer...I couldn't understand why someone would send out a money order for such a large amount and no service was provided.I did nothing and this guy just sends out a money order for $870.00.. The money order says its from the US postal service...I checked it out, no watermarks or anything. I took it to the post office to verify if it was real, and sure enough not legit at all....Thank goodness I didn't deposit this into my checking account they would have gotten all my info....Whew!!!!!! Who do I report this clown to?

AGAIN THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP!!!! BTW CONUNDRUM SHOPPERS WEBSITE IS DOWN, I COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING ON THE NET..
You Had the right people. Contact the Postal inspector, if you had a fraudulant Postal Service money Order.
It is a bit of an odd name for a mystery shopping company. Does everyone agree? A conundrum is a riddle whose answer is or involves a pun. It may also be a paradox or a difficult problem.

"Evolve thyself and lose all hate...." Orphaned Land
Yes they are a Scam, I worked for them as an administrative Assistant mailing out checks to the personal shoppers. Well because I'm a Realtor I only worked 1 week, mind you I never gave any SS #. When I told Mediano Anati the HR Person that after I mailed out the batch that he sent me and I had prepped, It would be my last and only batch because My project at the office would take up a lot of my time, He told me to send the rest of the package and that I would get paid my $400 since I did finish the 1st package and that he would contact me with the information of the western union Wire, Which I never received. He doesn't answer my emails, He has taken himself off of Yahoo Messenger and he never answers the phone number that was given to me on his so called employment letter.

People beware!!!! This company is a piece of cake, I don't know how it works for the shoppers, I just pray to God that the Money Orders are Real and not counterfeit!
It sounds to me as though you were scammed as well. Chances are good to certain that the money orders you were mailing out were counterfeit and hopefully it doesn't come back to bite you as an 'accomplice', even though unwitting.

I understand. And you know, if the money orders were going by US Mail, whatever contact information you have/had for the folks might be useful to the US Postal Inspectors to track them down and stop them. So, emails of the address you were to mail stuff back to, phone numbers that used to work, etc. might be very useful to them.

Yes some of the shipping labels had Conundrum Shoppers on it and some had James Holmsends name on them as the return addresses. James Holmsend in Seattle Washington and Mediano Anati of Conundrum in Seattle Washington, or Mike Mascatelli in Athens Texas
Postal inspectors might find that very useful information in order to shut these guys down.
i want to thank all you guys for the info. They sent me a USPS money order that they wanted me to use 50 to buy something at walmart 30 for gas and 120 was my pay however then i was going to have to wire the remaining amount of the 870 over seas I knew this was wrong my gut told me so. I am going to turn all this info over to the postial inspector.
