Shipping job "change in the survey after your shop was submitted"

I received an email explaining three jobs are on hold saying there was a change in survey after my reports were submitted. The corrections (answer to new question) needs to be fixed in 12 hours. The new question requires a narrative for a yes question and was not in the notes, guidelines or original questions.. Does anyone have IPSOS phone number? I think I need to have a talk with someone tomorrow once I've calmed down (and haven't had a glass of wine after a long evening of entering reports).

Anyone else have this problem?

Most of the schedulers I work with at IPSOS have phone numbers on their e-mails. Can you check your scheduler's past e-mails and get their phone number?

Email of schedulers are listed for my area, but no phone numbers. I've been fairly open on this site with my experience concerning IPSOS responding to emails when there are issues. It could be completely coincidental but when I had real issues, the response was deafening silence. When I had minor issues then the response was excellent.

No, I'm talking about e-mails received from specific schedulers. Each e-mail they have ever sent you has their direct phone number on it. Or do you delete them? (Many shoppers do!)

(That's why, every time I get an e-mail from a scheduler, I transcribe the phone number to my binder. I have literally thousands of phone numbers, LOL!!! I keep my binder like this: company name, one sheet per company, in alphabetical order. So if I see a job I'm interested in, I flip my binder to that company, see who I know there, and e-mail or phone them.)

I'm kind of a hoarder when it comes to job emails. None of the "New Assignment" emails from IPSOS I receive have phone numbers and none of the emails from the editors requesting changes have them either. Maybe they like you better?

I dont see how a scheduler can help you with an editing issue. Did you go to the IPSOS website and look for a phone number?

So I did a shop on Monday that was returned to me this morning for the same reason. They didn't want a narrative, they just want 1-2 sentences explaining your answer. Yeah, it was weird to have to give an explanation for a "yes" answer a few days after I submitted the report, but it wasn't really a big deal. I just explained that there were no customers at the counter or in line when I arrived and I was greeted by the clerk as I approached the counter, and then resubmitted the shop. It is something new, and now I know. And I don't think it warrants me wasting time or energy thinking about it anymore or bothering contacting someone about it.

I got the same email and responded that the clerk greeted me with "...blah blah blah." I don't know what they are looking for in that question, but I guess I'll find out. I've thought it was a redundant question when I first saw it. Do they want to know if someone apologized for the wait or just plain ole greeted you? I don't know. Weird that the narrative was added after the fact. I seem to remember a narrative box if you answered No, but not Yes. Now it's Yes.

Well, since I answered "yes" and there was no wait, they must just want to confirm that you were greeted. Other shops I submitted last week that I answered "yes" to were not given back to me to correct when I left the comment box empty.

My problem is that I performed 3 of these back to back that day along with 4 other jobs. I don't have notes to "explain in detail what happened" and don't remember each job well enough. My notes only show that the required behaviors during the interaction were observed since that is what the company contracted me to do. Adding a completely new observation after the job is done and submitted is crazy.

Based on what JAS included when she resubmitted, you may be overthinking it. For many reports a sufficient explanation for a "no" answer is reiterating the question. For instance, "Was the cashier wearing a name tag?" becomes "The cashier was not wearing a name tag." I would try that for now. Meanwhile, you may be able to get in touch with someone. If not and the report is sent back, I would be honest about not having more information because it was not part of the evaluation when you actually performed the shop.

Wwin, you don't have to "explain in detail what happened". If you answered yes, just write, "I was greeted by the clerk". If you did not have to wait and were greeted as you walked up, you include that as well.

The question read "If yes, please explain in detail what happened". Why go through the work of adding the question this way if that isn't what they wanted?

I added the info I could state with accuracy based on my notes which was that the clerk greeted me at the beginning of the transaction. Hopefully, that will be enough. The jobs I do today I will take notes on how I was greeted (verbally, eye contact etc.) and by whom.

I ran across that new question in both my shops yesterday. As JAS said, I just answered something like "The clerk smiled and asked how she could help me." and that was it. Something like that should be fine.

Wwin, their idea of "detail" is completely different from that of other MSCs, LOL. A simple supporting comment (or 2 if makes you feel better) should suffice.

Shop just was sent back again by the editor. They want to know if I was greeted when I entered the location, whom by and how. They don't want to know what happened at the counter they said. If I was not greeted at the entrance then I'm to explain exactly what happened.

Interesting. I wrote, "There were no customers in line or at the counter being assisted when I entered. I was greeted by the clerk as I approached the counter." My shop was accepted.

No, I don't think I've ever gotten an e-mail from an editor, and true, new assignment e-mails don't have them. But I call the scheduler on file, and tell her I have a problem, and ask her how to get in touch with the right person!

wwin, for one of my shops, there actually was a delay, and the clerk did apologize, so I reported that. I guess that's the sort of thing they want to know. But for my OTHER shop, I just waited in line till it was my turn, and just reported, "When it was my turn, the clerk smiled and asked, What can I help you with?", and that's what I reported on that one. So far, it hasn't been kicked back (I just checked!!), but who knows?? Strange, nothing about it was in the guidelines that I could find, unless I missed it.

The question does read -Did the clerk acknowledge you when you... or reached the window for service. So it seems to me, the greeting when I walked up to the window should count. I pointed this out and asked how editor wanted me to proceed. The other two jobs (at least one with a different editor) are still pending.

ceasesmith your post reminded me I might have the schedulers phone number in another file. She was helpful in finding the right person when there was an issue with an editor about mailer envelope colors. If this doesn't clear up on its own soon I will reach out to her.

So the real question is: How is it okay to change the survey report after the report is submitted? I mean, really. That's just a reflection that the MSC didn't pay attention to detail at the start. Non-starter for me. Nopes list.

No, this is a NEW question on the survey for the shipping shops. I do several of them every month, and the question being discussed here has never been on the survey before this time, at least not in my area!

All along since the beginning of the quarter, not all along since the beginning of the project...and before they did not ask for a comment if you answered "yes" and now they do. I had submitted a few that I answered "yes" that went through, and then last Monday I answered "yes" and they asked for a comment about it.

They actually didn't change the report after it was submitted. The question was there, they just previously had not asked for a clarification on it. They wouldn't be the first MSC to do that. And I love this MSC and would never put them on my "nopes" list, especially for something so trivial as asking for a 2-sentence comment explaining an answer to a simple question. These shops take 5 minutes to do with a 5 minute report and make excellent fillers on short or long routes.
