Update: Finally heard back from them. They say they sent me and other shoppers payment via check due to their unspecified issues with Paypal which they say are now resolved.
The problem is, I have opted to be paid via Paypal and for every other shop I've done with them, that was the payment method used, by mutual agreement. Unfortunately, because of my travel schedule, I won't be able to pick up that check.
Seems odd that they 1) wouldn't have given me the option to wait for Paypal before cutting checks, 2) didn't bother to inform me that they changed the payment method and 3) ignored my emails for quite some time before responding.
Still hoping to resolve it, but just wanted to give an update, here. Not the worst issue in the world and it was not a huge amount of money, but it is an inconvenience an not at all what I would have expected from Ridgway.
