Gas station shop with Market force?

Just wanted to know around what job fee do you consider fair for the 2 photo gas station shops with this msc?

Depends on travel time. The closest one to me is about 45 minutes away. I do that one for $65. The next closest is an hour away, and I only get $40 for it. (But I can fit this one into a route, as there are always other shops in that town; the first one never fits into a route.)

If it was right next door, and just the ms shop, $25 seems fair. The audit, no way.

$25 wow! Around here the quick 2 photo jobs don't get bonused by much. My notes show I did one for 14 last year and some others for 10. I haven't done any this year, others in my area seem to be taking them all at base pay. The jobs I'm talking about are quick, usually taking the 2 photos is the most time-consuming part of the job.

Must be different in different areas, because in my area, their gas stations are $8! Revealed and mystery both! I try to wait for it to go up a little, but there must now be a new shopper in the area because those $8 ones disappear as soon as they come up now days. Seeing those much higher pay amounts makes me crazy!

OK just curious. what would a gas station audit with 14 pics plus infractions pay?

Totally depends on the MSC and the shopper.

These gas stations are the perfect example of the benefits of setting up a route with filler shops. I do them in my local area but still only if I’m doing other shops nearby. If I have a FF shop why not combine it with the gas shop. I need to eat and the car needs the gas. However I never do the audit version. Too much work and it means I have to wait even longer to be eligible for the mystery version.
Thanks for the responses. In my area, they are seldomly bonused but was weary of not taking it without one..although it is only 5 to 10 miles from my apartment and thought it would be a good starter shop to test the gas station shops since it would be my first gas station shop

I do these as filler shops, too. I do them in different states/cities because there are none in my local area. I actually enjoy doing them. I've been paid different amounts; it's mainly according to when I apply to do them and when I am headed in that direction.

I complete the 2 picture shops at the base price, grab as many as possible, and schedule them for the last possible date. Being able to self-reschedule 1 time makes it easy to move them to a more convenient day.
I take them for whatever they're on the board for, but I take them only when I am literally driving right past. At base fee they're $13 shops. They take less than 10 minutes and I normally do the report on the app while I'm driving. That makes them a $78/hour shop. Yeah I'll take that all day long.

I signed up to do a "Revealed" gas station audit with Marketforce. Got the 37 pages of guidelines and promptly cancelled doing it. I've done a lot of the $8 ones and they're easy, but 37 pages of guidelines with photos made me run with my tail between my legs. I think it paid $20 but that didn't look like enough. Anyone else done these? Are they as bad as the guidelines make them look?

I'll do the reveal gas station shops for $18 or $20, but not less. When you've done so many of them, it's easy. I have one station very close to me, it's a self service station. There's no attendant, no store, just the pumps. Talk about an easy $18.

My minimum for audits is $15 for small locations if they are convenient. My favorite scheduler calls me often, "audits will be going up to ?? today.", list the locations and assigns my picks when they go up.
In NJ we still don't pump our own gas. I take the locations that don't have a store. I take them at base pay and sometimes with bonuses. They are so easy, I struggle to be there for 5 minutes. I get $5 of reimbursed gas. Works for me.

How do the NJ revealed audits work? Is it the same but an attendant pumps the gas?
Still photograph all pumps, MID, etc..

I do them at the base fee, as the shops are quick and easy, and there are about a dozen of the shopped stations within a few miles of home and work. Plus I need gas anyways. I do love when the bonused shops start showing up though, I’ve only seen up to $20 pay on those but don’t travel far for them and can sometimes grab a couple together. I’m doing 2 base pay shops today that are just up the street from home, and both are less than 1/4 mile from each other. I don’t do the audits or revealed shops though.

I'm actually on my way to do one of these shops. I was reading over the guidelines and it states to look for name of the cashier. It doesn't specifically say to ask the cashier for their name.just making sure I'm reading that right before I get to the location..

Also does anyone know the max amount of these shops we are allowed to do in one day?

Yes, in NJ you buy gas from the attendant and then do the reveal and take all the photos. They are a lot more work than the mystery shops.

Sorry, I was replying to LW's question. The non reveals are easy.

You need to verify if a name tag was worn but, you do not necessarily need the name. You will need their gender, hair color, and if glasses are worn.

I have completed 12 audits in 1 day with no issues.
thanks for the replies everyone, enjoying these so much, anyone know which other msc's do similar shops to these non reveal gas shops? I know of one other one, but not sure we can discuss that in this thread, at this time just doing them at base, because I get reimbursed the gas and someone else keeps grabbing them at base..grrrr, just an odd thing that happened on one of these shops. I went to grab the squeegee and it was just a pole sitting in the cleaning fluid, no squeegee attached. In the same container, there was another pole sitting there and no squeegee attached. If I wasn't on a shop, I wouldn't have made a huge deal about it, but would have told the cashier. Oh another question I had, I actually do buy air, not sure how else to test that part without doing that..is that something everyone else does..(the air for tires on the outside of the locations)

@ceasesmith,

wow, do you think they allow this high bonus because of proving your a reliable shopper or are these hard to fill shops maybe, just curious..that is awesome though

In California air is required to be free. However if they charge for air where you live, you still don’t need to buy it for this shop. The question only asks if the air machine appears to be working. You just need to look for an out of orde4 sign or something like the hose is missing. If you answer “no” those are the options you are given as a response.
Air is free in California? I had to pay for it last month when I needed some in my tire. I went to three different gas stations and two of them gave it free but the third charged me. Wish I would have known that. I would have fought it! All three stations had a price on the pump but when you went inside to get change to use it, they said they would turn it on for free. It was only the third station that didn't offer to do that and charged me. I had to go to three different stations because the first station, their pump was broke. The second station, their pump started draining my tire. The third station, their pumped worked but they charged me $1.50 for the use of their air pump. Only in California!

'Cuz I live in the boonies and there's not another shopper within 100 miles.

BUT fees have dropped disastrously for me. There was an 800 mile long, 11 shop route I used to get $1100 for that's now only paying $75 per shop. One shop, 100 miles from me, that I used to get $100 for, another shopper got this month for $35. But I guess if that shopper wants to work for $2 an hour, that's up to her. LOL!!!

I should have added that the California law states that air needs to be offered for free when you buy gas. Here’s an article about it and there is a link to a form you can use if the station refuses to give air for free even if you bought fuel. Most stations I visit don’t even ask or verify if I bought fuel. They just turn the air machine on.
