HS Brands Mystery Shopping pay schedule

If I'm not mistaken, and I'm 99.9% sure I'm not, 60 days from last day of the month the shop was performed in has been their terms since I started shopping in July, 2013. There was some discussion about that in the thread when HS Brands bought MCP and @Lorri Kern KSS "corrected me" that this was no longer the case. So apparently they have returned to this schedule?

It still reads 60 days following the month you did the shop in. So if you did a shop the first week of one month, it will be three months before you get paid. When you mentioned MCP, it got me wondering about them. I have done several of their shops through KSS....I remember the fiasco when MCP did not pay shoppers for many months (and their deal was to pay the next month). Since HS Brands bought MCP, will it be close to 3 months for payment on those shops? I hope not

You are correct. If you do shops early in the month it will be almost 3 months before you get paid. I have 2 shops completed on 2/2/19 that still show up as need to be paid (do not show pending) and it has been 75 days
I am on day 84 and my shop payment from Feb 2nd has finally changed to "pending"....does that mean I will receive payment soon???

Does anyone have a contact in the Accounts Payable Department at HS Brands? Please post or PM me.

Thanks
I am seething!

A mystery shopper for over ten years, I have successfully completed over 5,000 shops. Of those, probably more than 100 were for Measure Consumer Perspectives (the new Sassie site does not list previous shops). I did 4 video shops for the new company, HS Brands, on 5/31 and submitted the videos & reports on 6/1.

I patiently waited for my payment which I have always received around the 20th of the month after the shops were submitted. Several days late, I checked the website. I found an Announcement that said, "COMPENSATION USA Fees for services performed and reimbursment for allowable expenses will be distributed by PayPal on the 16th of the month following the month in which projects were properly completed and received according to project requirements."

Great!, I thought, that was supposed to be even a little earlier. So I contacted the company and asked when I would be receiving payment. I received a message from Payments@hsbrands, "Our standard payment terms are 60 days from the last day of the month the shop was done and you will typically get paid between 45 and 75 days from when you submit your completed report."

I emailed back and told them that is not what it says on the website and I sent a screen shot. I received the same reply. It seems no one is listening (or reading). BUT they did change the announcement regarding pay now on their site.

How can any MSP expect a shopper to wait 60 to 75 days to be paid. I don't think I am alone in "shopping" because I need money and I don't think it is at all fair or reasonable. I will not shop again for this company and urge other others who also can't wait to be paid to join me in boycotting this company.
See my post also, but here is a contact:

I made a call to the corporate HQ in LasVegas and asked for Kimberly Nasief, the CEO. I urge you to do the same. 800.723.1150.
See my post regarding HS Brands. I won't shop for them again, after 10 years and well over 100 shops.
They still have video??

As Mrs. Frank has made several points, I will address them individually;

MF--I emailed back and told them that is not what it says on the website and I sent a screen shot. I received the same reply. It seems no one is listening (or reading). BUT they did change the announcement regarding pay now on their site.

Bob--I completely understand your frustration. As I did not see that announcement, it was not relevant to me; I expected my money in the time frame that has existed since 2006.

MF--How can any MSP expect a shopper to wait 60 to 75 days to be paid.

Bob-Those are the only terms of which I have any experience with SS.

MF--I don't think it is at all fair or reasonable. I will not shop again for this company and urge others who also can't wait to be paid to join me in boycotting this company.

Bob--Feeling as you do, I agree with your decision. Several years ago, Regal Hospitality abruptly changed from a net 45 to net 90 pay cycle. As that was unacceptable to me, I requested and was given my deactivation. The deference to me was that Regal went south with their terms and I avoid that situation. Try to remember, though, after all is said and done, this is still business.
Like shoppers who take low paying assignments, the MSPs will get away with whatever they can. It's up to the shoppers to not settle. If a large number of us agreed we won't accept low payments or terms of more than 30 days, the MSPs would have to revise their terms. But there are many of us and we are not 'organized, so if I don't take an assignment, there are others who would.

I am pretty sure I am not the only Uber/Lyft driver on this Forum. I didn't see how drivers who are also ICs could 'strike' but it may be time for shoppers to think about collective bargaining.

Over the 10+ years I've been shopping, I have seen the pay for assignments drop. That day's shops entailed over 5 hours of driving and 276 miles. I don't feel badly about no longer shopping for some companies. I understand that they are in business to make money, but dammit, I am in business too.
I am no longer shopping for them either. I was paid at day 89 since I did my shop on the 2nd of the month. 60 days from the end of that month was damn near 90 days. Max I will go is Net 45. If these MSCs can not pay in a timely manner they can find others to do their shops - which I'm sure they will until those shoppers wise up - or don't mind waiting up to 90 days to be paid. So if you are willing to wait, remember to shop this month for your Black Friday and Christmas money!

I completed a shop for HS Brands on May 1 with an excellent rating. Although I contacted the payroll department, I have not been paid yet- -98 days later and still waiting, going on four months. Shopper Beware. I will no longer shop for this company.
I see that their SASSIE page has been updated and payment now happens 75 days after the last day of the month in which the shop was completed (so a May 1 shop would be paid August 15). I'm not when this was implemented -- it is very disappointing if it is being applied retroactively to shops that were performed under the old last day + 60 day policy.

By their posted schedule, you should be paid around August 15.
