If you can't follow a simple disclosure agreement how well can you follow the directions on shops.

Shoppingfool - you need to edit your post as well. By quoting Irene you have perpetuated the ICA violation. She cannot remove the client name from your post.

“You should not be mentioning the client is a thread about MFI. Is against forum rules and against your confidentiality agreement with MFI”

Isn't failing to pay by the 20th an ICA violation as well? smiling smiley

Nope. The ICA says “around” the 20th.

It also states:

“Finally, you agree not to disclose the names of MFI's clients, the location of the assignments, or any information gathered during an assignment to anyone other than representatives of MFI.”

Have you looked at the MSPA site? Many of the MSC's have a list of companies they do mystery shops for.
They have a right to they did not sign nondisclosure agreements.

HUH? so the MSC didn't sign their own nondisclosure agreement? They can disclose their customers, but you cannot?
I've seen payment being late for 6 months mentioned. I guess I have been lucky because I have only had one payment late and they notified ahead of time.

Not to mention the rules of this forum.
If you want to know which MSC offer assignments for the restaurant or business you want to shop, look at the company site. They list their customers. It's not a secret.

A non-disclosure agreement is one-sided, just like a non-compete agreement. The company constrains you, they do not constrain themselves. Yes, an MSC is completely free to disclose in any way they choose who their clients are. You are forbidden to disclose their clients to anyone who does not work for the same MSC.

That makes no sense. I see notices from MSC's asking me to tell family and friends about them. To do that, according to some on here, that's violating the non-disclosure agreement. The reason for the non-disclosure is, they don't want you disclosing information from the forms you fill out.

The want you to tell about the shopping company but not who they do shops for. They own the company that have every right to make what ever rules they want. If you don't like it don't shop for them. But every company has a nondisclosure agreement.

I never said I didn't like the MSC. What I don't like is some on here putting strict limits on the reading of the non-disclosure agreement. Some people on here try to be very controlling.

No one is trying to control. Go ahead and post client names and see how long you last. If anything we are trying to help you.

So do you feel it’s ok to not follow the rules of this forum?
Hello, I received an email today from them apologizing that my payment is late and they will let me know when it will be processed. Unreal! This was my first time shopping for them! I wanted to start doing shops for them on a regular basis and recently signed up for three more. Well after receiving the email regarding payment status and how they don't know yet when I will be paid, I immediately canceled my upcoming shops with them. I can't work for a place where the first shop I do goes unpaid for an uncertain amount of time. That's B.S.! Especially since I had to shell out a decent amount of money for this one. Sorry but I'm just disappointed.

They want you to advertise the MSC. They want you to find shoppers among your friends who will potentially compete with you. I get the same emails. I have never gotten one which asks me to tell my friends the names of their clients, just the name of the MSC.

This has been going on for 6 months now. Before that, they paid on time and no one had a problem with them.

Some people on here set up their own rules. They have nothing to do with the non-disclosure agreement. Two separate issues.
@shoppingfool and @myst4au your attempts to explain are futile.

Could the moderator, or someone else, post the link (or the rules themselves) to the forum rules regarding revealing names of MSC’s and their clients?

Fake news. They paid after the 20th one time this year. So, this has not been "going on for 6 months now."

The forum rules are not the same as the non-disclosure rules

I look at it this way. The doctor must keep confidential my medical information, but I can tell you all about my ills.

I must not disclose the mystery shopping company's clients, but they may if they want to. Of course I am going to honour what I sign. And, I am here on this forum that has been provided for me, so I will follow the rule.

I can think of clients that have switched MSC more than once in the past year. Posting who shops whom could become very inaccurate.

It's no mystery if the MSC displays their client list. They are making that information PUBLIC. It's not a secret. All they are asking is you don't reveal your information or forms to another company.

Yeah, as in they haven’t even started the payment process! There seems to be some dishonesty here. MF emailed some shoppers saying we were supposed to be paid on the 20th and now they are saying the payment process hasn't even begun. This is very concerning. I need that money. I wonder should I do the rest of my June shops?

I agree! I’m not sure why they think we are not capable of seeing the holes in these statements. I also think if they would just level with us and be honest, we would trust them more and ride it out - whatever it is. Now, I don’t trust them at all - something is off. What bothers me about this last statement is “they will START THE PROCESS of sending out payments EARLY NEXT WEEK.” Translated: “Oh about Tuesday, we will sit down and begin...but you won’t received your payments for at least another week.” That’s how I am reading it. I hated to do it but I cancelled the 7 shops I had left in June. If they didn’t require me making a purchase, I may have done them. We are shoppers - we are pretty sharp people and can easily see the red flags here.

$150 for 6 gas shops? Wow those are high paying shops. And on an interstate where there was nobody for 20 miles? Why would there be so many gas stations where there is no traffic a esp of the same station? Seems odd.

All were on I40 in the middle of nowhere in the Southwest. The reason they were well paying is specifically because they were in the middle of nowhere. 1 was between Flagstaff and New Mexico, 3 were in New Mexico, and 2 were between Amarillo and OK. Two paid $20, the other 4 all paid $30. Unfortunately 2 were closed so the fee dropped to $15. The ones that were open reimbursed $5.

Not that it is the lightest bit your business. I can post the locations if you would like.

“I did 6 gas station shops directly off the interstate on my drive today.”

All in one day! Whoa - that is a lot of miles in one day! Had to be 700 miles.
