Mystery Shopping Canada bought out SpotCheck

So now that Mystery Shopping Canada have taken over SpotCheck as of March 1st, it seems that the restaurant shops are offering the same reimbursement only but no longer the $10 fee on top, yet the requirements are still the same. MSC's response to my query was "It's always up to the shopper if they want to apply for the shop at the posted rates." Anyone else annoyed about this?

Yes, that would be annoying. Not applying for them at those terms would speak volumes though.

Mystery Shopping Canada is not the most generous regarding fees and so on. They have taste testing shops where they only pay $10, you have to make a purchase plus look around the store for other tasting tables, plus take pictures. They get scooped up but are not worth the time, in my opinion.

Agreed. I noticed with other companies, some cellphone and electronics store shops were reduced to $10 from $14 or $16. But people still pick them up, so they think they are justified in offering such ridiculous compensation.....
I hope I still get assigned my restaurant shops that I do for Spotcheck as I have been with them for years....always get the shops assigned...with mystershoppingcanada I do not seem to get any of the shops I apply for barely- which means they likely have more local shoppers in my area...so I for one am not happy with this buy out....and if it is true there will be no $10 shop fee, this will really suck, but I am sure the shops will be picked up by someone.....and forget any bonus for shops they don't get filled as the shops will all get filled with a bigger shopper pool...just my 2 cents...
The restaurant shops have had their $10 payment removed, and the electronics stores are now $10 less. Not a fan of this merger/partnership/whatever it is.
The shopper pool might be slightly bigger, but it seems most shoppers would already be signed up with both those companies.
Annoying when payments go down. When intouch moved to iSecretShop, some payments went down too.

I always used the $10 restaurant fee to cover the tip, because the reimbursement is food and tax only. So now, the shopper is always paying something as opposed to having everything covered. I noticed this as well and hoped it was an error.

I hope the picky editor from Spotcheck did not move over to MCS. I almost stopped doing the restaurant shops because of the ridiculous questions after the fact.

Glad it wasn't just me.

I wonder if the tip is now included in the reimbursement? Its silly for it not to be IMO.
I completely stopped shopping for Spotcheck exactly because of the ridiculous editors, and their questions, not worth it at all IMHO!
The tip is not included no. It specifically says that they do not reimburse the tip.

Now that Mystery Shopping Canada has Spot Check's electronics store shops, the fee has gone down by $10 and are now $20. That is a large drop in fees.
I wonder if it will be the same report.
