Emergency - need to reach Merc Systems scheduler!!

Does anyone know a weekend number for Merc Systems? I am due to do a hotel shop tomorrow for which I need to be Platinum Status - which I was until I received an email today that I was downgraded to gold! The shop would be invalid at that status and it's too late for a free cancellation. I'm due to be out $300 if I can't get hold of Merc! Thanks!

Your best bet is to try to cancel. Call reservations. Tell them you had a family emergency. They USED to be good about that stuff for people with status.

Taking these jobs this time of year is risky. Generally the brand downgrades people that didn't make status at the end of Feb. Gotta keep on top of them this time of year to make sure that you're not about to drop. Also, there have been a TON of people reporting that they are completely screwing up their statuses randomly.

Pro tip. Never. Ever. Update your card on file. All of mine have expired. They have no way of charging me when I cancel too late.

There are reasons that a body stays in motion

Cancel like this:
Call hotel. Don't cancel, tell them you are changing your date of arrival to next week or in two weeks sometime because the event you were attending rescheduled.

Then, in 2-3 days, cancel online, or if you can't cancel online, call the hotel and cancel at a different time of day then when you rescheduled. (if you got an evening shift employee when you rescheduled, call to cancel with the morning shift a few days later).

These were all great tips and so glad that some of you had experienced the drop in status. Turns out someone usually keeps an eye on their Facebook page so Kaitlyn got back to me quickly. She said the same - claim family emergency. Even if only 'gold' instead of platinum, they should be gracious and cancel for free. They did.

She wasn't my scheduler for the shop I was doing but it got sorted out - sort of. Currently freaking out that over a month later they still haven't reversed my charges!! That's two hotel shops last month that are dragging their feet. And for ones that don't even pay a fee, no longer worth it!

That's odd. Amy has never scheduled any shops for me with Merc, only for IPSOS. My schedulers for Merc send emails from a Merc domain: tammy.young@mercsystems.com, kaitlyn.miller@mercsystems.com, chelsey.ovenell@mercsystems.com
