Trailer Checking Company Comparison...?
Happy with moviemeasure after getting used to the app on the third assignment. TES is good too, but wish they would implement an online pay voucher system instead of having to print and either fax or photograph it. They should also allow for Saturday theater checks as is done by movie measure as this would help clean up left over Friday assignments. In some cases, there is just too much to be done at one theater with showtimes spread between night and day, so the Saturday checks would make sense.
Certified was fine 10 years ago, but they just continue to get so damn cheap with their fees. Surprised that they lost out with the big studio trailer checks.
Has anybody ever done trailer checks for checker patrol.com?? Signed up with them years back to no avail.

Yes, I email it after photgraphing it with my phone but it still would be easier to do it like market Force where you print your name in a dialogue box. Sorry for the confusion...

How so? When I parted ways with Certified back in summer ‘16, they were resorting to “name your price” stunts to get standees done. Having all those left on the board and having to call folks late at night to do large standees that required partners could not have reflected well on them.
No, I was not doing a six-hour standee for $30, 30 miles away, even with the partner requirement waived, just because they called at 8:30 at night, when I get up at 5:00a.
Anyway, MM has been good so far. I guess they liked my work enough to try to get me more work, but only one theater is close enough to me to bother right now with the long hours of the day job.
Wish I could juggle more than one screen at a time with the app. I was doing Aladdin and those showtimes are 15 minutes apart and things get dicey with 20 minutes of trailers. Walking literally across the hallway is no problem, it’s the waiting after to find a moment to enter that other set of trailers.

@AlfredB1979 Rakesh said they are working on a way to make partner work & manual entry easier for those bigger theaters & releases. I am pleasantly surprised at how quickly they have made other improvements, so I hope they will work this out also.
I don't mind doing them because I enjoy the trailers, but it just doesn't pay enough. I'll still do them once in a while for fun.
Me too. I did the big release a couple months ago because the theater had some neat events connected with the premiere. Otherwise I won't do any more than 4 screens. Just not worth it.
Okay, this might sound like a stupid question. Do you get to watch the movie at all? It sounds like you will not be able to watch it because it's playing on so many screens. I would do it if I get to watch the movie but not sure if it's worth it if I don't get to.

I sure miss the Regal shops that were discontinued last year. I was 95% done with the report before the movie started.
One thing I really don’t like about MovieMeasure is the way they post jobs. They tell you in an email what movies they want worked, but they don’t list theaters. I reply that I can work a certain movie and they assign me to a theater 30 miles away. I don’t understand why they can’t use a more conventional website assignment approach like every other MSC. I’m sure they would get more assignments covered than they do with their current email/telephone approach.
Hi there. Good news to report. We are launching a website in September that allows you to request assignments with the list of theaters available. This will start with the assignment team releasing the assignment to your app. After three to five successful checks, we will allow self assigning. You can understand that we need to be careful who can have that ability. Once this is working, we think we can enhance the site to help checkers plan showtimes and formats in advance. Hi @stormraven73 we worked a way that a partner can use the primary login and perform the checks at the same time. PM me and I am happy to walk you through how that can work. It will allow payments to still be sent to the primary account holder AND allows us to use the auto match features. Hope that makes sense.

Will this website also allow for the self assigning of installs? I do not like doing trailer checks but I can do installs all my life until my heart stops
I have done a total of 9 installs for your company, with varying levels of difficulty (40 minutes to 3 hours). Would this be enough to be allowed to use the self-assign feature?

HI there @mydevice - we will definitely be putting installs up there but we are starting with trailer checks - those are weekly and if we can get those right, then it should be a simple extension to add the other products. I haven't really thought too much about the self assigning for installs. We will be creating a group of internal installers (we have that already but making it a thing for the website) that will be allowed special privileges like self assigning. It sounds like you'd qualify! 
I have had a similar experience. I will say that I always see a Veritas checker at the same MovieMeasure check I am doing - but I guess that will end soon. I love the ease of the app that MovieMeasure has. I will also say that even though I had a few pay issues with MovieMeasure, I have been pleasantly surprised at how easy doing work for them is. I have had a conversation with the GM of the company trying to explain why for many people this work does not pay. I have broken down how much I have earned hourly based on the number of hours I have spent at the theater. I will say that he was open to listening to me, but the pay is still very low and most of the time if you have to check more than one theater you will make less than minimum wage, which is a shame and I am sure that is why they have many people that quit.
I worked for Marketforce years ago doing trailer checks, and the pay was bad. I didn't know about TES at the time, but I work for them now. I like working for them, I never have to worry about getting paid, and my scheduler is very nice. My issue with doing trailers is that I now live in a rural area and the closest theater is over 30 miles away, there is no theater in the little town I live closest to. So, if it's just for one movie that is only showing on one screen, I don't do it unless there are other jobs to do in that city. If it's for "select features" and there is a fighting chance that one or both movies have more than one screen I'll go, or if it's a block buster kids movie, I'll grab it up. I agree that being able to do trailer checks on Saturdays would be great, especially now that me and my son have to share a single vehicle.

I see.. Movie Measure is still Marketforce, like Certified is (was?). That isn't going to fly with me..
You are never allowed to take a paying seat to watch the movie, unless your letter specifically says so. Plus you have to sign in and out of the vendor book, and you always have to sign out immediately after the trailers are finished. And give the guest badge back.
Wow you lucked out with your scheduler. I had the one from hell for over 20 years at TES. The VP of the company told me they know she doesn’t get along with people....so why hasn’t she been fired? She lies too, among many other things. I finally stopped my relation with them, and am much happier. I go to movies all the time on my own, pretty much for free anyway, and go any day, any time.
A-closer-look has some too, you get to stay for the movies and get reimbursed for snacks!

I do not believe that Marketfoce and MovieMeasure are the same company - they just do the same thing.
During my college days many moons ago, I was allowed to stay and watch the movie. The manager was nice and would sometimes give me a small popcorn and soda! Being a poor college student, that was the best thing! Those were the days when I had to hand write and then fax the report back to the company.
I just sent an email for trailer checking jobs! I’ve been with MFI/Certified but they haven’t had many tc’s this year at all. ????????????
I think the VP at TES whose name I think was Lisa is pretty awful. I told her a theater manager was hitting on me and she deactivated me after I used to do hundreds of trailer checks I did for TES a year. Since they no longer allow you to see the movie,it is pointless to do a shop for such a low fee.
