Bare

They never sent any emails about questions, just posted requests on the job board so they ended up giving me a grade 1 on my report. I called to complain and they opened it up again, but told me I was a liar about not receiving emails even when they could not prove that they had sent them. I work for many companies and don't have time to check all their job boards every day. I will no longer work for them and am doing my best to spread the word about their inadequacies.

I see from both of your posts that you obviously had an issue. Sometimes emails do get lost. Checking your spam or junk mail is often not enough if you are using AOL or Yahoo as your email provider. Both of these providers have put system wide blocks on emails from some companies. And even in the best of circumstances, it pays to watch your spam/junk mail on a regular basis as the provider filters still will send some stuff there. Obviously the providers don't advertise exactly what the parameters of their filters are or else every spammer would avoid those particular words or phrases in order to reach your in box.
Did not use a "web based email account" and always check spam filters daily. NO emails were sent. I am not a liar. As I stated before, I have been mystery shopping for seven years and have NEVER had this happen to me with ANY other company.

This could be one bad experience. I work for them (5years) they were one of my first. I know schedulers have been moving around this year, perhaps you just got a bad one. I find them a good company, pay right in the middle, and always pay when said. I know when your experience happens, you want to stay away, but I can tell you to take a rest and try them again. I had a little fallout a couple years ago with an MSC, getting a low score. I gave it a long rest, am now with them and building my rating back up...it's worth it in the long run. Trust me, there are so many companies out there that don't pay, Bare will look good.

Ya! I got my first check from Feedback Plus. I was wondering about it, since it was the shop that got put on hold.

Now I am just waiting to see how the others will do.

Do most of you check the individual companies, or do you use boards like this one or jobslinger? I have found jobs on jobslinger that were not on the company board. I expect these were recruitment jobs, but I did get them if I applied.
Jobslinger by its very nature will show jobs that are no longer available. That is why it is such a good reference for deciding with whom to sign up. Jobslinger pulls from various boards and from those SASSIE companies that are willing to play. Only those SASSIE jobs show up on Jobslinger as they post. Jobs that appear on the feeder boards that Jobslinger imports are jobs that schedulers have posted to those boards because they have not yet been taken.

Keep in mind that when you go to a SASSIE board you are able to see only those jobs that have not been assigned. Prophet4 will allow you to still see jobs already assigned and request to be notified if they become available again.

I'm glad you've had a good experience with them, but I will not be working with them again. The treatment they gave me with of no "I'm sorry that happened to you" or any sympathy, just pure condemnation and the "we don't need you anyway" attitude really put me off. There are plenty of other companies out there that treat me with respect and pay well and quickly that I'd rather work for and keep my blood pressure down.
It is rather obvious you will not be working for/with them again wakechick. I do relatively little for them, but that is more based on fees and availability. My experiences with them have been professional and overall positive so I too suspect your giving them a rest and trying them again when you are over being annoyed with them could lead to a productive relationship. Of course with almost any company the "best relationship" is when you can easily find jobs that are paid at least reasonably well, not outrageous to perform, not too tight on the report deadline and the next interaction is when the notice of paypal payment comes in or receipt of a check occurs. That certainly has characterized the bulk of my work performed for Bare.
I am still curious as to why you got a 1 on a report.....something doesn't jive, what job was it (don't name Co.). You state MF as one of your favorites, there are many disgruntled shoppers that won't shop them or to say the least are annoyed at their low pay, you mention Quest for Best, a one time good Co., that lost their accounts in CA and no longer have any work here. The MSC's you name I'm not impressed with, I guess "to each his own" applies.

I will do as many shipping shops (ReadyPost and regular box) as Bare will throw at me. They easily work into my tours around the region and I can do several a day and schedule them on whatever part of town I'll be in. The scheduler is supportive and responds to email and I get paid on time.
wakechick, if you're still around, I don't recall you saying whether you had previous experience with Bare in your years of shopping. If I had years of positive shopping with an MSP, one bad experience would have to be really, really bad before I'd sever ties. We do like to spread the word here, but not always does the bandwagon become crowded.
I had a similar experience with Bare International. For my first job, I didn't receive the info I needed to ship to. I checkd spam and junk mail plenty of times. Then, I sent a ridiculous shipment to a food bank with two cans of food in it. Talk about silly. The recruiter never returned my messages with questions, and I still don't know if I'll get paid anything.
If my "real job" boss treated me this way, there is no way I'd stay with the company.
So far I have done at least 8 shops since signing up. 10/10 each time. And I got positive commendations, "good job, reporter!" Made me feel special. Just waiting on my pay now. I like them.
I did do an apartment one, and I got suggestions on how to improve my reporting, which I greatly appreciated. 8/10 on that one. And then I decided that type of shop was fun!
I just started with BARE. Did a couple shops but the other day I couldn't complete a shop and now I got a FLAKE award. Boo.. my own fault. Had an MRI with medication and I couldn't drive after that. I emailed BARE. Did not receive a rely but just a ding. They seem to be good though.

What is a "FLAKE award"?
Bare International finds every excuse not to pay its shoppers.
When the outcome of the shop is not to their liking, they refuse to pay.
Due to this reason, I steer away from this company.
I recently made a mistake to do an assignment for them and surely enough, they do not want to pay again.
This is the only company that looks for excuse not to pay.
I never have issues with any other mystery shopping companies.

I'm curious what excuses you have heard from Bare when you have not been paid. Please be more specific about the circumstances so we can comment and maybe help you understand. Like jwolpert, I've shopped for Bare successfully. I've done many shops from 2008-now and have never not been paid. I've turned in several reports that were definitely not to Bare's (or the client's) liking, because they were extremely negative, but I have always been paid. Please let us know what problems caused your lack of payment.
I have done over 200 shops with Bare, over 7 years and have always been paid. Trust me, I have turned in negative reports!

I have always been paid and have turned in many very negative reports without any issues.

Please expalin what reason they gave so we can understand the issue.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
SO I keep getting the Realtor shops over and over... clocked on one just to look
they want only Realtors for a shop less than minimum wage.... No wonder they are sitting and sitting...
My very first shop with BARE was almost my last. I turned in a report on the 15th, juuuuuust after midnight (like...12:03-ish). Around 10am I get this letter that my shop has been rejected because it was three days late. I politely explain that I had upload issues, so squeaked in just after midnight on a shop due at midnight.

The response?

"Our system says your shop was turned in on the 18th."

I actually had to take screenshots of the date in my shop log because they didn't believer when I said "I can't have turned it in on the 18th, today is only the 15th." My final email on the subject asked if they thought I owned Doc Brown's Delorean. I was beyond done.

That, however, was the only problem I've ever had.
My only complaint about bare is they do not list paid on dates on your sassie job log. I have always been paid and on time. Only one no pay shop which was my fault so I had no problem eating it. Everyone has different reasons they shop and different mindsets thus everyone will like and dislike different companies. I feel most like bare. But to each his own.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I have been very happy with Bare, been shopping with them for several years.
The pay is good for the work and payment is always on schedule, if a bit long (usually
about 45 days).

I am debating right now if I want to continue to pursue the Scenario C shops due to the
high cash outlay AND the difficulty in finding the right boxes. I went to 5 stores on my way to do an out of state route
and NONE of them had the sizes listed - had to cancel my shops that day.

I followed the forum advice that they could be found at Walmart - wrong again. They weren't
out of stock - they just didn't carry ANY of the listed sizes.

I recently found one of the sizes from a product supplier that I use - really cheap, like 70c (but I will have
to pay shipping which I don't think will be refunded due to the nature of the purchase).

Now I just can't decide if I should continue to consider doing the C scenarios and go ahead and order them.

Let's hear a vote - Yeah or Nay on doing Scenario C's (assuming you have/can get the boxes). Are they
worth it - or are they worth it only when bonused?
Nay... on C not for the box but for the possible denial of the $40 plus... they are known to deny for the infractions on the employee part, not ours... It is one thing to be out the $7.50 or so to send a friend a box but definitely not for a possible $40 to a food shelf. They do relax that when requested but...... no thanks... And just a FYI our Walmart did have them today when I was in that dept....
14x14x14 boxes are at Walmart for $.68 each. Unless the snowbirds are winging home and have taken them all. Lol
