They are using the KSS name for the scam. Our email addresses always end in @kernscheduling.com

I figured it was too good to be true! It was just weird because they didn't ask for personal info, which is the obvious first sign of a scam.
We do not (and never have) worked with Market Force. Also, if you look closely at the email address, you will see it's not kernscheduling.com Please do not fall for this scam.

Also - Sabrina Boone has not worked for KSS in more than 10 years.

This is definitely fake. First of all make sure the email address is from the company you will be paid by.. If there is any question, then email them, 2: if you accept a shop you have to LOG IN .. you don't just go and start spending money. 3: No company pays that much. 4: they just want you to buy them a gift card and give them all the numbers and you will not get anything. 5: they never tell you to just go anywhere you want.
I just wanted to add that they don't need your personal info. After you buy the gift card using their fake check or your own money, they can cash the card with just the picture of you take after their scratched off. This scam was recently featured on a Clark Howard podcast. Glad you didn't fall for it.
I saw the similar one on Facebook page. I hardly believe that Market Force is using the third party like KSS to advertise their jobs..

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009
I also got this and was planning to do it (now I won't - Thanks!).

I did get the email from ksskimm@kernschedulings.com (Kimberly Motl)
I must say, this one is quite a bit slicker. The $30 pay is actually reasonable and doesn't scream "SCAM!" like the ones that promise $300 or $400 for the same assignment.

Post removed as it violates the Forum guideline which states, "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies". Additionally, it is an ICA violation to name both the MSC and client. The post removed was not a scam. It referenced a legitimate scheduler and MSC.

Wow. This is a pretty decent scam. The names and addresses check out when you search in google. $200 is a lot of money just to test the purchase experience, if not for that I might have fallen for it.
I get the same email this moring and put it in file 13 wso fast your head would spin
Wow @Jonik, that person Judy even has a mystery shopping Facebook page. If I got that email I would seriously think it was real. But I don't know anymore!
I don't see how they can't track down and bust these SOB's. I mean, if it was a national security threat, they wouldn't have a place to hide.
Any experienced shopper would know immediately it isn’t real. Why you making a big deal out of it? Just shows your inexperience.
Do you SNARK much?

Oh my, yes I did receive this same email not very long ago it seems. I deleted it after reading through it. I am home-bound now and do phone shops so I was not interested. I did not give it a second thought or glance. Oh, what is happening to our MS world and what next? These people need to go away and leave us alone. OK rant over.
How would you really be able to tell something is a scam if it has a more reasonable price and isn't so obvious, I mean the woman's name and the companies are real, this is a little unsettling.

You don't have to be like that, there are people who are very inexperienced, you and every experienced shopper were inexperienced at some point in time too, nobody just starts out anything knowing it all, it's important to remember these things instead of judging other right off the bat.

Our emails end in @kernscheduling.com (no "S" at the end of "scheduling" ). They are using email addresses that are very similar.

Instead of replying to the e-mail it came from reply to Judy's e-mail listed at the bottom. I believe this is legit. I get e-mails from her with other shops in my area. Nothing about the hotel stay sounds fishy to me. They are frequently posted on the MSS websites so you can go there to also check.
Not worth to take it. I discarded the email. I believe that this is a true pushing advertisement instead of a market survey. Buying anything more than 200$, I could easily acquire a 15% discount from some websites, for that amount of purchase, the discount already would be 30$, I will get nothing like a shop reward.
It’s obvious they want the codes to use your gift card before you do and no refund coming. Very transparent.
Sigh. I get so tired of watching out for these scams.

If I'm skeptical about an offer, I look for 3 things:

1. Hit reply and see what email address the message came from and what email the reply will be sent to.

2. See if there's a website or link to login to a main site in the email and check it out.

3. Come to this forum and search for information...I've found a lot of great posts that have saved me from being scammed on here!
Always check out the website www.mspa.org . They have the list of the legit mystery shoppers to work with for free., this one I'm mot surprised that it charges you to become a mystery shopper.
Also what was the dead giveaway was the return email addresss. A lot of them hide behind a real company and the email address is different. always beware!
