I don't apply for anything. TS calls me and I tell them how much it will take for me to do it. Nine times out of 10 I get what I ask for. And I've also got $200+ in PAD for an OSI that consisted of a two-hour drive one way and seven photos. If you're reliable and they're in a bind, you can make bank.

They keep wanting me to go to 150 or 200 miles away maybe I will put in the large pad request.
I just took job for them 30 miles RT and of course no pad, but I will be across the street anyway, so I adore this new store and happy to have lunch there...sometimes it works, when it comes to good food, and quick pay, no
complaints

Just got an email for grocery shops offering PAD of ........$1.00. Do they really think that will make a difference?
I am sure that it is a typo. The current IRS mileage rate is $0.58 per mile, up from $0.545 in 2018. It was close to $0.53 in 2017, when it was $0.535. It goes up and down, having been $0.540 in 2016 and $0.575 in 2015.

I'd just counter that offer. I think that PAD is based on historical data for them. Don't ever do anything at base rate if you ever want PAD. Also, make sure that the other two shoppers are holding out for PAD as well. It works out nicely in my area. I don't know who #3 is, but thank you for doing your part! Actually, it might be somebody here now that I think about it. smiling smiley
I have this ongoing issue with them. It just happened yesterday. I got a text on Tuesday asking me to do a location about 18 miles away. I said sure, I can do it, I would need a $24 fee, total. No reply. Yesterday night I get an email offering me the same location for $25. I go ahead and apply for it with PAD on the board. Now here's what will happen next. No one will get back to me in time, I will go ahead and do my route, check just before I leave the location in question and remove the request. The next day someone will text me and ask me again.

They seriously need to get their act together. I don't sit around waiting on them to make up their minds. I get going for someone else if they haven't replied.
I want the shops, but I need a timely response.
I've given up 100% on their grocery shops in town, I know we don't get pad since their 3 miles max from me, but why keep adding more work, so I'm still eating well (thank you) but refuse to do more work for same dollars.
I will do their higher up shop next week since I will be at same area at Dr.'s appt., would I have driven the 14
miles at same price, well, applied last month with pad and they got someone else without pad. Seems the majority of us feel the same way about their pad procedure. Think I outgrew them, but had enjoyed working for them then, my feeling is they will continue to twist and add to reports for same pay.....many newcomers to do jobs. Those that get pad, good for you.

At least in my area (South), they haven't added any new requirements to their grocery shops for some time now. So I'm glad about that!

Don't you now have to check the restroom?

I have every restroom code in my phone for every store that I shop. They all have codes to keep the homeless people (or as they say in Los Angeles - "People temporarily experiencing homelessness"winking smiley from bathing and doing other things in there. I'd rather check the restroom than buy deli meat any day.
I don't mind checking the restroom. I walk in, and walk back out. The restrooms around here are always clean so no biggie I just check two more boxes. Once a customer had left a mess so I had to write "There were 6 pieces of tissue on the floor."

The grocery stores TS have in my area have always had that requirement since I've been doing them for the past 5 years or so. So nothing new in that area. So the Client TS has out your way has just started requiring this then, Irene?
It's been awhile (not 5 years), but that isn't my only reason, pad is the main reason and the low fee, I do better on my own with coupons and have been eating out so much on jobs, really not in need of these jobs anymore.
My point was adding anything more without a raise in the fee,

I was thinking about this earlier. They didn't add anything, they replaced the head count we used to have to do before the actual shop with a few extra questions. I think it's actually less work than it used to be.

You may be right, I'm a bit gripped at them as I'm doing a job Wednesday 14 miles one way and last month when I applied and asked for 3.00 pad, I didn't get the job. This month I'm not asking because I'll be there and know I won't get the lousy three bucks I asked for last month I did get tired of the 9$ and 5.00 fee, no longer worth it for me, but for those that continue to get pad...rock on!!

Well distance and PAD are a totally different animal. Don't blame you at all. I get griped too sometimes.
I don't know who the TS coordinator is for the grocery Client in your area, Irene, but in my area it's Sergio. He's told me very recently that he took over the grocery Client in my area just a few months ago, and that he doesn't give out PAD like the former coordinator used to. And by golly, he's right!!!
I quit messing with them once they went with evening and weekend timeframes on the shops and added several things you have walk around looking for to see if they're in stock. In addition to all the department, etc. Too much for too little.
@Guysmom....you don't understand, I've worked for them for over 10 years and NEVER gotten pad, having done many last minute favors for them.....this is not a new thing.

Is has nothing to do with distance. Some locations are harder to fill - they always have PAD. Some locations have more than 3 shoppers applying for the shop. Those locations never have PAD.

Frankly, you and I have shoes older than some of these schedulers at TS. They just don't care.
SoCaMama...funny you should mention "older" shoes. I am now cleaning my closet and have shoes, 20 years old and still in good condition....Poshmark is a great way to get rid of stuff. After my Wed. lunch, I'm done with TS.

I'm getting rid of my Vegas "club" shoes. They are super-tall, and I just can't do it anymore.
I usually get rid of stuff on eBay. Although, I know that people use other specialty websites as well.

I'm lucky that I can get to lots of their stores where they give PAD. There are a couple close to my house with no PAD. I don't do those.
I got married in Vegas, the Temple there, same Rabbi that married Liz Taylor and Michael Todd, have been going there since I was 25. My ex was the commercial Real Estate Appraser for Caesars Palace....what fun and my how time flies......

Yeah, I have read where you've never gotten PAD, and that is a total bummer, Irene!! I can understand your frustration with that, for sure!!
Now (of all times) they offer me a $40.00 pad to drive downtown for a job, guess they don't know our freeways were closed that day due to fire.....oh dear, give me a break...at least I can say I was once offered pad!!
