They are telling me they aren't sure if one of the bonus column is to be included in the taxes....?
that depends on how they classify it. They may do it so the bonus is treated as a reimbursement rather than the fee as a tax advantage to themselves. Not all msc's report reimbursements on the 1099, some do.

I get that, but shouldn't they have been able to explain that to me? I told them my total was different. They said the 1099 was right. When I asked why, they said the bonus column had not been added in and said they were verifying if that was correct. They then said they were sending me one to match my records. I asked if that was because their total was wrong or just to get me to stop emailing. That was when they said they were consulting with their tax department. And now, I am wondering how many years I have paid more in taxes than I should have because they sent 1099's to match my records.....
The bonus should be taxable. It's not a reimbursement.
The 1099 I received looks to be correct. My experience has been some years they would include the reimbursed expenses in the total and other years not.
When did you receive your 1099? Just in the last few days?
I think it showed up around the 29th or 30th of January.
I actually never received the one for mystery shopping in the mail. Assuming it got lost.... I got mine for my editor work the end of January.

Well, my total was right and they are issuing me an incorrect 1099. I will be receiving a corrected 1099...glad I waited to file....
