IPSOS gas station Shops on Presto

I have spent many hours trying to get the specific site survey to load in the presto app.
I got it to load two times today when I was reviewing this round’s survey. I contacted IPSOS who responded immediately but I still have not been successful. tried contacting Presto but they don’t respond that quickly. At one point I was able to load on site and checked in but after the mystery shop....nada. “Loading then survey.” Meanwhile I traveled 45 minutes to start the route and am out in The field and in a few minutes my survey will time out(12 hours now!!!). Forget about the 3 bucks I am out... I have spent over 4 hours trying to work it out.
Is anyone else having this problem with surveys that will not load on Presto?

Many people are saying the same. I don’t think these audits will work out on presto. Presto is way too slow and unreliable and people don’t want to waste their time and not get paid.

Just check in at presto while you are there to unlock the survey, then take your photos, etc and go home to do it on a laptop, or a near dunkin donuts or starbucks, or mcd if it is a time issue (I actually do the report on the parking lot, no need to even go inside, the signal is usually quite strong). That's what I do for all type of presto shops, can not waste hours for the report to load or the non stop crashes.
Thank you for response. I am quite certain it is not a wi-Fi reception problem. Happened at home too.
A "mobile" app should not have all those tricks you need to figure out to work around the problems and, ultimately, do the work on a computer! Just sayin'....
That’s part of the problem.. I spend a lot of time just trying to check in with the app and I can’t. It is so frustrating. Any suggestions?

I think that I may have figured out the problem. I believe that the app keeps the last location you were at before you started taking pictures so the app thinks that you are at the location 2 miles down the road. So, what I did today which seemed to work, is to check in to get the survey to open, start doing the assignment / take pictures, then recheck in. I did that and it worked most of the time. The other times I checked in just before I submitted it, while I was in the store after dropping off my leave behind, and it stated that I was close enough. The only other one that didn't work (of 15 or so so far, is a location that was an issue on both the Dark and the 2D Scanner assignments so I just submitted a "location issue" and moved on. I wouldn't worry too much about the check-in thing though. I did a bunch of other types of assignments on Presto for this Client and it never seemed to impact payment.
Yes, I was over two hours getting one shop to go through. I contacted Presto and they gave me some suggestions but all of which I had already tried. I was afraid to sign up for any more for a while because of this problem.

But did it happen when you were accessing presto with a laptop? I only have problems on the cell phone. Rarely on a laptop.
I agree it is not a wi fi problem I could not even get the app to work to check in and pull up the survey. I know what pictures I needed to finish at home but it would not open there either. Very frustrated! I just dumped all my shops and moved on to another MSC.
What about if you log in from a short distance to unlock the report? I actually had to do that with the motor oil check. I checked in from 30 miles away because the report would not open. Did you guys may be try to check in and unlock all the reports on your route from home?, if they open, and only try to recheck at the location. But definitely do the reports on laptop at home. I had done some other shops at presto for a small scale client, only problems. I contacted presto tech support, b------- suggestions. I even tried a different phone because that was their initial claim as the problem. Tried again, no luck. Since then, I do all reports at home and never looked back. For those who have done the app payment shops, completely annoying presto design of the report. You enter the info and then jumps a few questions so you need to scroll up again, and again.
So I guess people are already saying they are getting rejects for duplicates? I’ll be highly pissed if that happens to me as I take all on site. My husband does them as well and he loads right onsight. No one is taking the projects so they need to get these bugs out. If I get mine rejected for duplicates, I’ll email the CEO if I have to. Not dealing with hour long audits getting rejected for supposed problems with presto app. I’ll sit tight and see after the 5 I did today.
I have occasionally had problems with Geoverify not seeing my correct location, solved by restarting the phone. Maybe Presto is the same way? Just a thought.
I downloaded and tested Presto at home. It sukked, so I wouldn't sign up for any shops.
I had a problem today. I entered all the information, and the app got stuck. My time ran out before the shop would load all my answers. Very frustrating to put that work in for nothing.
The Presto app is a nightmare. I've been doing the audits just by visiting the Presto map from my mobile or computer browser.
This happened to me so I grabbed the shop again and added the photos from the expired shop. I drove 60 miles to do a series of these and it was a nightmare. How do we contact presto?
Im going to try one of these today. All the comments on this shop worries me. I will try but im not investing a bunch of time. If i cant get the first one to go thru...im out.
In the original webinar, the first thing they said was that you can't use your wifi on your phone. You have to use your phone data. So i did that and did not have any problems. Until today. Did it the same way but there was an issue with it saving my input.
As they requested on the webinar today, i emailed that problem so they can address it.
We will see what happens.
Turn off your wifi...and try a shop.
That's BS. I was on data today. The app still crashed, kicked me out made me check back in multiple times and a decent BP with few infractions I was there over an hour and still had to come home and finish it. My verdict is Presto s****s! Give me green gas stations on MCX's browser any day of the week!
I have to agree. Did one today, and it initially would not allow me to check in. Then it got hung up midway through the dispensers and would not move forward. I was not jumping barons the app, just going question by question. Came home and finished it. Took alot of extra time. I would take either Mobi Audit or MCX apps any day of the week. Not happy with Presto. The only thing I like is the self assign.
I did one yesterday...my first. It took me 40 minutes for a well maintained station with 8 pumps. It used to take me about 20-30 minutes..max. I don't like doing them on the app as I find it hard to hold the phone and have to remove my glasses to focus on the pictures. (nearsighted) Too much lag in between questions and photos. Although there was no report to do once I finished, I still prefer the old way.

Those of you who finish at home, are you using the app or doing it on the computer. If so, how do you get the photos uploaded? Do you just take the photos on your phone and then do the report at home on your phone? I'm afraid I would screw it up if I tried to do it after I left the site.

I have done four of these so far, all of them at home on my computer. The way I do it is to check in using my phone at the site. I have had no problems once I realized that you actually have to turn off the Wifi setting on your phone. I take the photos with a camera and upload them to the report the same way I did prior to Presto. It works pretty well as long as you use Chrome as your Internet browser. I had issues trying to use Internet Explorer.

I accept the assignment at presto, unlock the survey at home. Then I go to the location, reverify the address on presto, and then take the photos with my camera, which I use for all my gas shops. I go home, or if it is a near deadline to a near Dunkin or Starbucks, or McD, either inside or at the parking lot. I transfer the photos on the laptop and open the presto on the laptop and proceed as if I was doing a regular gas shop. If the reverify does not happen at the gas station, as I drive away, I try again. One shop I had to reverify 20 miles away and then the app worked, but the shop was accepted.
I tested my first shop yesterday, purposely about 2 miles from home. I could not open the app. The procedure i used was;1. load Presto, 2. tap the triple bar at the top, 3. tap "my incomplete shops", 4. tap "continue". "Loading Survey" flashed for about 5 minutes. I moved my car across the street and the same thing happened. I emailed the scheduler and went back home. She suggested I delete the Presto app and re-install it. In the meantime I opened the app at home on my computer and was advised that I was close enough to the station to submit the shop. I returned to the station, took the pictures with my digital camera returned home and uploaded them to my computer, as I have done in the past. The shop went through and I m waiting to see if it is accepted or rejected. I deleted and re-installed the app on my phone as suggested by the scheduler but I won't know if it works until I try it on another close by shop, which I won't attempt until my first shop is accepted.

I much prefer to use my digital camera rather than my phone to take the pictures. The camera is about the size of a pack of cigarettes and can easily be operated with one hand. The photo remains for a few seconds giving me time to check its clarity and accuracy without pressing buttons to review it. Unlike my phone, one click produces one picture. The camera has a short wrist strap that has saved it from falling to the ground on ore than one occasion. Also, I can just let the camera hang loose while I make notes on my worksheet. There is a panoramic feature that I have occasionally used.

While the picture quality of the phone is as good as the camera, and probably better on newer I-phone models, there are negatives. The button on the phone is super sensitive and quite often results in multiple pictures instead of one. Either that or I have a heavy finger. In order to properly secure the phone and keep it steady I find that I need both hands. Taking pictures one-handed is awkward and if I drop the phone it will cost me hundreds of dollars.Holding a clipboard and the phone and taking notes is also awkward.

The good news is that the scheduler told me that using a digital camera and uploading to my computer when I get home is acceptable, as long as I check in with the app on site first. Although, in the latest webinar they did say that the client wants the shops submitted "at once" and it was urged to complete the process on site using the app. I have no problem doing 5 or 6 shops during the day, getting home usually by 3 pm and submitting them well within the 12 hour time limit. It is curious that if the client wants the shops submitted at once my first one has been "under review" for over 24 hours now. I don't see a sense of urgency. There were many complaints concerning the Presto app on the webinar and I think it is still a work in progress.
How much do these things pay?? This seems like a real pain in the tuchus!

It was much easier under the original MSC but The shops under discussion can yield $150 for a little more than half a days work. I only do revealed shops, by choice, and some shoppers prefer mystery only. It is outside work, not pleasant in winter months. Some of the stations are pretty seedy and not in the best neighborhoods. My favorite part of the shop is taking a picture of a foul smelling restroom with toilet paper strewed about. Fortunately, that is rare.
