I hope we get paid!

A thought just came to mind. I hope we get paid for last month! With a lot of businesses shuttered & not paying their rent, I hope they pay us! I have an outstanding $400 reimbursement.

I hope you get paid, too.

I only have one shop extant, and it's only $35.75.

That's groceries for me for more than two weeks.

I hope we ALL get paid next month.

Do realize, of course, that as ICs we have less recourse than employees.
All the more reason to keep a VERY close watch on MSC payment schedules, and to be ready to question late payments. MOST of the MSCs pay reasonably faithfully to their posted schedules; however, in these very uncertain times, even the most prompt companies may decline into a state that won't bode well for the shoppers.
A great regional MSC, QACi, paid all its March shoppers well over a week ago once it became clear that it would have to suspend operations. I did an expensive hotel overnight at the start of this month for an MSC that pays back the entire amount via check about 40 days after the end of the month, so I'm certainly rooting for that company's survival. Unfortunately I have completed but unpaid shops for two MSCs that are among the most routine offenders for late/erratic payments who I'm sure will continue to be the subject of threads on here -- but I only did one shop for each company, as I'd long ago set a "get paid, do a shop, get paid, do a shop" policy for them.
I completed three hotel evaluations for a company that pays 60-90 days after the visit. They have always paid me... I’m hoping that will still be the case!
I did a couple of shops for Trendsource on 3/22 and they paid me for them on 3/24. Instead of the 5th of next month.
I have about $250 I’m owed right about now. It’s five shops from three different companies. I hope they all pull through and pay us!

On an up note (ha!) looks like ICs will be eligible for unemployment for the next several months. That should ease our minds some, at least for the moment.
I have been paid by all except for one shop that was bonused. I have not seen payment from them yet but my fingers are crossed. I really need those $$.
It seems likely that many MSCs will qualify for small business loans and assistance.
One of the companies just paid me. Thank you Prism Intelligence! Leaves me with four shops totaling $176. To be fair, $16 is not due until next month, but the rest is lagging. Hmmm....
People worried about a few hundred $$$ when full timers like me are owed thousands ($5k personally). SMDH

60k/yr mystery shopping? That's pretty good. Hope you get paid. At least you can get unemployment as an IC now.
I had posted in another thread that I only did one shop this month, basically for this reason. Anyone who has been shopping a while has seen a lot of change in the industry, and seen many companies fold or merge. This shutdown has the potential to cause a lot more companies to go under, especially the ones that are basically down to one or two clients right now anyway.
Yes the shopping money would be nice, so I'll miss not shopping this month. But it will hurt more if the money I would have spent or the work I did just doesn't get paid back.
That being said, I hope everyone who has money owed them right now gets it.

Your reimbursement is no more important than anyone else's just because you're full time. A couple of hundred dollars can have as much power to break some peoples finances as $5k could to you. I hope that you, and everyone else, gets their money back.
He doesn't work all the time, he is known for being a groupie and following around his favorite lady musicians, going to festivals and concerts, LOL!

I'm not sure where being owed $5k currently equates to $60k a year but my gross receipts are more than that.

No offense but I think you have a poor understanding of the situation. For starters that's not reimbursement that's all shop fees.

How big is your ego B? Your response is just plain insulting to all mystery shoppers.
Every mystery shopper has a certain amount of money at risk now. So no your $5000 is not any more important than someone else's $500.
We would all sympathize with you had all you posted was you are owed that amount, instead you make it a one-up·man·ship post basically saying "Screw you and your $500 (or whatever amount anyone has posted)" with your initial "SMDH" comment.
I am shaking my damn head right now because this thread wasn't about you until you decided to make it so, and now you want people to stop worrying about their money because you are owed more. That's some serious bull ****.

From now on are all posters supposed to check in with you before they post to get your opinion on if their post is ok or not?
If the forum wants to ban me for calling out your BS I have no problem with that. I've learned a lot here, much of which came from you, and will still learn more here. But I also am going to call out your damn ego when it results in BS posts like this that insult the rest of us.

It's pretty big to be honest.

Let's put it in perspective. Let's say we are talking about our work in a retail store. There are 10 employees. 2 of them are full time employees and the other 8 are part time employees. For the full time employees that work 40 hours a week this is their income. It's what they live on. The other 8 part time employees all are people for whom it is a second job, or additional retirement income, or just something they enjoy doing.

Now let's sit those 8 people around the breakroom table when the store decides to close and let them @#$%& in front of the full timers how bad losing those 6 hours of work a week are.

Also I wasn't making this thread about me at all, I was just trying to put some perspective on things.

While everybody want to get paid, I think there is a degree of difference between missing a payment that simply hurts, and a larger payment that could cripple someone if not paid. The amount just varies from person to person.

I'm owed a few thousand for something I never would have partaken in if not for it being shop, so I'm crossing my fingers that the money shows up in a few days. Would it break me if they stiffed me?...no, but it would sure sting a lot.

For anyone owed a few hundred dollars that would be broken by not receiving it, I have good news; There's probably a $1,200 check on the way to you, so that should cover you for a while...and many states are opening up their unemployment insurance to gig workers.

I just thought it was impressive. If you are saying it's more than that, good for you for figuring this out.

I won't be getting $1200 in the mail, thankfully don't need it, but the reimbursements are for things I would never spend that extravagantly on. I would rather have $500 go to a charity for instance, instead of fancy dinners. It would be forcing my money to go to a place I would never have it go, which would be the part that would be felt, if that makes sense.

The problem would be for the people who need that money for necessities.
