MaritzCX (now Ipsos) changes payment method

I just received an email from Ipsos, telling me that MaritzCX is now paying via paypal (not direct deposit, or its recent (and temporary quasi-direct deposit method). I was asked to update my profile to include my papal address.

Yup, I got it too. I prefer DD over everything and PayPal second. Anything is better than a check.
Anything was better than that Chase system. I also noticed the jobs page is different. Maritz page was very easy to use and shopping friendly. I just hope they don't go all Ipsos on us.
I wondered if it was valid. When I hovered over the links in the email, none of them had an IPSOS address.

I didn't hate the Chase system, but I didn't like it very much, either. Over the past 20 years of shopping I have had more than one or two checks get lost in the mail, though (not from Maritz).
Only one complaint here about the change -- I was expecting (and sadly, severely need) payment today or tomorrow for last month's lone shop. The e-mail seemed to say I won't receive it until the 27th. It's only about $45, but I was counting on it to pay my cell phone bill, which is due by the 20th.

As an update to my post 04/15/2020. On April 16 at 10:06 pm MDT I received the Chase pay email for this pay period listed on the Ipsos (MaritzCX) for 04/13/2020.

Call your cell phone company in advance and see if they can extend the due date with no penalty.

The Ipsos email does state that the "...next round of shopper payments is 4/27..." I am assuming that the 4/15 paydate is, therefore, going to be using the Chase system? Does anyone know this, for sure?

Great idea. Thanks.

My attempt to access Ipsos through the provided link failed. I then tried my saved favorites, but was denied entrance through Sassie and the Shopmetrics site stated my E-address had bounced. Finally, I tried the Maritz site and succeeded. Does that mean Ipsos is no longer using either the Sassie and/or Shopmetrics addresses?
I am thoroughly dissatisfied! Direct deposit is the best way to get the money into my bank account, and it was working fine.
I personally know of one person who tried to send Ceasesmith money to cover her cell phone bill based on her post on this thread.

There you go. Factual.

I got in to all of them with no problem.
WHAT?

How many people sent you money this time?
This is really getting old.

Thanks for your explanation SCM. At this point I don't know what to think so I am going to just back away.
If someone was going to send me money for my phone bill, I sure don't know anything about it. I did not ask for it. I am not asking for it now.

I said only that I need the payment from Maritz to pay my phone bill, and that my phone bill is due the 20th, and the e-mail SEEMED to indicate the payment will be processed/paid around the 27th. I budget carefully, and that payment was expected around the 15th, and I budgeted it for my phone bill.

I have lately felt animosity coming from this poster, and do not know the source.

What am I missing here? Why the animosity towards ceasesmith, SoCalMama?
Just another one of her “woe is me” posts. Then people send her money. It gets done through pm so others have no idea that they weren’t the only one. It happened again today. Somebody was going to send her money for her phone bill. It’s a damn shame. So many people out of work or just poor in general. It’s scammy, and it’s getting old.

I don't spend $60 a month on wine. His $20 left me $5 short of having enough funds to buy wine. I do not understand why you say that doesn't make sense. Being $5 short means no wine. If I don't have the cash for it, I can't afford it.

Again, if anyone was "trying" to send me money for my phone bill, why did they not contact me? I have absolutely no idea why anyone would or could "try" to send me money without contacting me. They wouldn't know my name, my mailing address, my PayPal account, or my bank account info.

You're the one who is not making sense.

I do not know why you consider my simple statement of fact a "woe is me" post.

I don't know whether this is true but this is a very serious accusation. Do you have any proof you can post? Does anyone else (such as one of the people who allegedly sent money)? If not, an apology may be in order (or, at least the removal/deletion of your accusation).
I don't believe we are getting paid today. I think it is being delayed to the end of the month due to the change in payment systems.
@ceasesmith

Okay. Well it does seem as though there is a pattern that has emerged over the years. Let's start with 2016 when you posted your link to your GoFundMe account (thread link below).

Then skip ahead to a few years later when you posted a thread about your car troubles and wanting to get a scheduler job with ACL. You hadn't done enough shops for them to hire you. I tried my best to persuade them otherwise, attempting to use my influence as a previous editor for them and still active shopper in good standing, but not go. They wouldn't budge from their policies of hiring from their shopper pool to make an exception for you. But you had also mentioned being so broke you couldn't feed yourself and people were worried about you. SoCalMama, me, and several other forum members who do post office shops coordinated together to send you packages with food, stamps, etc. from our post office shops. SCM I know went above and put really GOOD food and other things in your packages, going overweight and spending money out of pocket. And after several months, we had to hint to get a proper thank you for it. But that's okay, that's not the point here, and none of us expected anything else in return.

Last year you had more car woes and posted about them. People in that thread who I don't know asked if they could PM you to send you packages from their post offices. Someone else suggested starting a GoFundMe account for you, not realizing you had already done this. I noticed a pattern emerging.

Now you did say that $20 was a 10 day supply of wine and you like to have a glass every night. $20 x 3 (30 days) = $60 for a month's supply. I like to drink, I am not knocking you for enjoying the pleasure of a glass of wine, but back when I had a hard time paying bills (in my 20s), I just didn't drink. When you are broke, you have to give up all kinds of things and also figure out another way to move forward and get ahead so you can afford to enjoy things you like to do.

So, last week you had $2,000 to buy a car that you ended up not buying, and now you have a cell phone bill due of $45 and don't have the money for it. Can you see how that seems odd? Well some kindhearted soul in the forum accidentally sent me a PM wanting to loan me $45 via PayPal to pay my bill. They meant to send it to you. I explained that it was sent in error and the person apologized for the mistake.

There are a lot of kindhearted, generous souls in this forum. Some don't have a lot to offer, others do, but most want to help however they can, even if they themselves are trying to get by (families and kids, etc). I realize that venting can be cathartic, but what often has happened in the past is that people offer to help you materially. I only know what I see in posts. I don't know how many people have offered and eventually helped you through PMs, but I am going to guess quite a few. So maybe you don't do it intentionally, but crying constantly about money woes makes people want to help you make it better.

When you have complained you are technologically challenged, people gave advice on how to get around it, but you generally have the "I can't do it" attitude and say you try and try but can't figure it out, that's with phone, computer, just about anything. Before when you were broke and stuck at home, we suggested phone shops, and many provided company names for you to sign up with. You said you can't do phone shops, you have tried, you freeze up, etc. People have suggested you move out of rural NE someplace where you can shop and make money (prior to pandemic). You refuse and also added that your daughter won't even speak to you. You have also admitted in the past that you owe a lot of money to friends and family that you can't pay back.

Now you must understand why it seems the only thing that can make things better is for people to offer you material goods or money over advice on how to fix your life and move forward. I don't know what anyone cal do to help you, a few dollars here and there isn't going to help you. That's something you are going to have to do on your own.

This post was not designed to make you feel bad about yourself. It's more of a reality check for everyone, you included. That was way too long of a post. Sorry about that, everyone, but I felt the need to clear the air here.
