Maritz is headquartered in my area. The local newspaper has been running stories for a few months about how they're not doing well...

They should have stepped it up a notch. They were the only company that did not answer emails, I had to call them and speak to a person every time I had a question/issue. And their reporting system left a lot to be desired. Too bad for those that were employed; however, I'm sure they saw the writing on the wall too.

you received it today?
IPSOS did not acquire Maritz. They only purchased Maritz' mystery shopping operation which was really a sideline for Maritz. Maritz remains in business and still operates its core businesses.
I received this email on Feb 3, 2020:

“We’ve got big news. Ipsos, the largest mystery shopping company in the world, has acquired MaritzCX’s Mystery Shopping business. For you, that means: more opportunities, more industry expertise, and more resources to help grow your mystery shopping business.“
It's so disappointing, because Maritz had made great improvements in modernizing and making the mystery shopping operation more efficient. Their app was amazing. It worked flawlessly even in remote, rural areas. The ability to create bundles and apply for bonuses rather than all the back and forth on the phone is so convenient. I used to get called literally 13 times asking me to do the same out of town job for no bonus. Sometimes the same person would call three times a week for the same out of town job, with no bonus. This was not an efficient scheduling system. Now we are losing all of these improvements that were made over the last couple years, if they shut down the Maritz website entirely, which it looks like they will eventually.
