ARE IPSOS EDITORS PURPOSEFULLY FALLING BEHIND...

...TO DELAY PAYMENTS TO SHOPPERS? I submitted 6 reports within the first week, actually within the first 4 days of this round. Only two have been "received" and only one says "payment pending." I feel the little hairs on the back of my neck raise up. I think the editors are purposefully delaying editing and approval of shops so Ipsos has "more time" to pay us. I think we should start charging them interest! ;-)

Oh, Luvs, I'm thrilled to be paid within 10 days to two weeks rather than the 7 weeks many MSCs take to pay! I do WISH they were faster (don't they promise faster? LOL!). I did 8 shops Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of last week, and honestly thought I would be paid for Saturday's shop before now. Crickets! They are all approved for pay now, and on the payment history as of yesterday. But I don't know if I'll get paid today, or Friday, or next Tuesday!

Irritating.

But no, I do not think it is intentional.

Luvs...interest -- really?

You do realize that IPSOS is THE fastest paying MSC out there (at the very least, one of the fastest paying). Most other MSC are 30-60 days out for payment with a few being even longer. Payment in 7-14 days is a gift and one that I, personally, will never complain about.

First of all, the interest comment was a JOKE hence the winking smiley face.

Second, I am NOT talking about how fast they pay. I am talking about how SLOW they are editing submitted reports. Two weeks in and only 2 reports have been edited and only one of those reports was paid.

TBH, I would rather get larger payments less often. Less bookkeeping work for me.

These are all jobs from the first 12 days of the new year. The holidays are over. Time to get back to work.
It depends which side of IPSOS. IPSOS Sassie is unbelievably fast. IPSOS Maritz/V2 (or whatever it's called) is quite fast. I notice that the Shopmetrics side is quite a bit slower, at least for some of the shops that I did before Christmas, but I have been paid for them.

The Maritz Legacy is no longer. I am referring to Sassie. Still crickets and now it is Day 13.
I obviously can't speak for them, but I do know that the project I schedule had both monthly and quarterly shops start on January 4th. It's a very large project, so the editors are likely seeing about 1,000 (maybe more) reports coming to them all at once. A detailed project like this takes time to edit. I'm sure they are working as fast as they can, and I'd be shocked to hear that even one of them would be trying to delay your payment for any reason. They want them done too.
Received payment yesterday for 14 of 15 shops performed 1st week of this month. Pay Pal through Sassie. I'm OK with that speed of payment.

One gas station secret shop is still going through Maritz Legacy website. I did several on January 5th, and received payment January 12th. Also did some Presto Instashops (run by IPSOS now, I think) last week and was paid one business day later. No recent experience with the shops on the Sassie or Shopmetrics platforms.

msimon -- You do realize that IPSOS pays LESS than most MSCs and that is the tradeoff we accept.....faster compensation but for lower pay.....! jeez!
Maybe it depends on the project - I find Sassie editing and pay to be incredibly fast. The Legacy is still there at least in my area. I've been doing shops for the three parts of IPSOS.
At least a dozen years ago, a shopper posted on the Volition site that she did not care how much she was paid as long as it was fast; I am the complete opposite. The amount I am paid for work is the prime motivator for me. To paraphrase the old adage:, though: One shopper's meat is another's poison.

I agree; I don't care if I get paid fast. I am more irritated by the slowness of the editing. This is Martitz's old client. The Martiz employees were not even tech savvy. But my reports were edited quickly and accurately.
In my market the number of jobs that IPSOS had exploded exponentially a few weeks ago. Most of the other companies I work with have zero, one or two jobs in my area and none I want to do. Ipsos however has 12 pages of jobs sometimes. My take is that they secured some clients giving them, and us, a lot of work. Be thankful. You've got work in a bad market. And you are still getting paid fast compared to elsewhere even if it is late. They, on their side are probably trying to fully train and ramp up enough editors to cover all that work they found for you and me.
As for pay, I find them to be better pay than elsewhere. But of course I live in an area where jobs are at base rate.
This pandemic has finally brought some one digit bonuses.
Base rate is higher on the shops from when Maritz had them. Bonuses are easier too when I am traveling. I don't have to wait for some minimum wage employee to "go ask their supervisor". That was always laughable.
In my area, certain shops contain a warning that they may take 1-2 weeks to edit. Perhaps you are doing those types of shops.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

This thread has nothing to do with how MUCH they pay, only how FAST they pay. I don't accept any tradeoff since the projects I do for them have both fair and fast pay, in my opinion, and that works for me. That is the great thing about this gig...we each find our niche and what works for us.

"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl -- year after year..."
The editors are task paid. They don't get paid until the shop is ready to go. So, no financial advantage to slow work.
I agree about IPSOS being fast with payment. I also think they edit quickly. I did a big job ($140)one day and the next day my report was scored and commented upon. I love the company and will continue to work for them as long as I can.
