Bare Now Using Tipalti Solutions Inc For Payments

I received a check in the mail last week. Same way they have always paid. don't know if the Tipalti thing fell through?
I read that, too, and was wondering if anyone here had any experience with it.
It's starting with shops done in March, so anything before that isn't affected.

As much as I won't miss the paper checks I got from BARE, I'm not excited to give my personal information to yet another payment system.

I agree that I haven't heard of Tiplati, but it is a large company with animpressive client base. I am copying the following paragraph from a recent article in TechCrunch. If you want to read the entire article, here is the link: [techcrunch.com]

Remember, every time you hand someone one of your checks you are giving them exactly the same information that these payment services ask for to set up payments to you. No access codes given out. So, what's the big deal ?

You're right, but the more places that information is sent the better the chances that it will be used maliciously.

According to the info included in the link in Bare's email, future paper checks will cost the recipient about $3 to issue, and Paypal payments will cost 2% of the total (max. $1 in the USA; max $20 international). Tipalti (sounds like excema medicine) handles all--paper, paypal, direct e-payments, wired payments, etc. Only e-payments will be free.
I think of fish every time I see that word..Tilapia..Tipalti...letter jumble game almost. Never heard of them.

I was worried at first, but it seems legit. As long as I don't have to accept PayPal and there is a free deposit option, I'm good.

Bare sent out an email with registration info.
The first time that Bare owes you money, Tipalti will email you with instructions. Until then, there is nothing to be done.

Do they still do DD?
I'm trying to register for Tipalti now, and there's no clear path to do so! The link in the email I got today isn't live, and when I copy and paste it into my browser, I got an error message saying that place doesn't exist!
Real-time update: I tried again as I was posting this, and lo and behold, I'm into the registration screen.
What's very frustrating, though, is that the instructions on their website don't give you a starting point! The first step doesn't tell you where to go to find the "payment details," the payee dashboard, or anything else. Sigh.

I was able to sign up for it. It was a quick, easy, and painless process imho.
Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
What a disaster. I got a notification from Bare that they paid my March money, but I can't log in to Tipalti. All I can find is a "payer" portal and when you use that, they tell you that if you are a payee, you need to use a different login portal -- but there's no way on that site to find out where that is!
March was the most active month I've ever had with Bare, too, and now I can't get at my money. I'm fuming.

I just signed up with them (in Canada). They sent me a registration link email because I was assigned an assignment with BARE. I did not have to provide banking info because one of the payment options was through Paypal, which most of my MSC payments go through anyway.

I signed up with Tilapia when they sent the link. I received a direct deposit as I always have. It was not a problem.

I liked working for Bare but the car was jobs are a bust. The pay is $5-7. It ties up your money for too long. If you do 5 washes in a month you can tie up almost $100 of your own capital — not worth it.
Lol what? If you can’t wait until the 20th of the next month, you might need to do different shops. Some companies pay 60+ days out.@Peeps77 wrote:

I just got paid. Tipalti to PayPal. $4 processing fee. What??? Not a happy shopper right now.
Anyone get DD through them to your bank account yet this month? Says. Subitted on site but no money in my account

My checking account shows a payment from Bare (via Tiplati) today as pending. That is normal. It will then be fully credited to my account tomorrow. This is my bank's normal operating procedure for deposits made using the ACH system. No fees were deducted.
I don't remember if Tiplati indicated that there would be a fee if PayPal was selected. PayPal indeed charges companies (not individuals) fees to send payments, and historically there have been other instances of MSCs charging a fee for PayPal payments.

I got a prompt response from BARE:
"Payments sent via PayPal are subject to the fee structure disclosed in Tipalti.
The ACH / eCheck option was overwhelmingly chosen by most auditors, therefore Bare 100% covers the cost for this service and partially subsidizes the cost of all other services.
If you would consider payment via ACH there are no fees."
OK. I just switched, but what does BARE mean by it partially subsidizes the cost of all other services? Does this mean shoppers will see other fees?

"Partially subsidizes" means that we absorb the cost of having Tipalti as a provider. It also means that we pay all of the fees for ACH and echecks and only partially for PayPal and other methods.
