Market force low balling

Be careful when Marketforce calls with a shop offer. Check your board before you accept because in every instance they try to offer me a lower fee than what is posted on the board. I just had a scheduled hang up on me because I called her out on it

The foreign call center schedulers are required to follow the scripts and offer the low pay, which is often lower than the starting pay on the website. I have patience and sympathy for them, since they need to follow the rules to get good scores. I have asked why they always offer the ridiculously low pay, and that is what I was told. They have always been able to match the website pay when I tell them what it is, but they say that they can't see what the website fee is.

Ive noticed a major decrease in shopper pay with MF! Not sure if they are trying to save money but they use to be one the highest paying msc around!
Hmm, Samantha just offered me $75 to do another visit to a drive in shop I’d done while visiting a tiny remote town I visited in March. I think their pay scale has remained the same but shoppers are taking shops earlier for lower fees.
That’s what she was saying, that she couldn’t see that fee and when did I see it. She then told me to hold on and she’d check with her supervisor, then she hung up
I wait until Friday and check the app. I get the fee that I want that way whether it's MAO or listed.

This is a frequently discussed topic on this board recently. As I have mentioned elsewhere, I don't remember this phenomenon pre-Covid. Seems to be a new tactic and in fact it has turned me into a call screener because I just can't trust them. I will call back after checking the board sometimes and tell them the board price is higher than their offer, then they invariably try to offer me the board price. After which I demand a bonus above board price. I usually don't get it lol.

So what would prevent you from saying well no its on the board for $35 (lying) since they can't see it but can give you the job board price. Yes its dishonest and low but the low ball @#$%& they trying is just as bad so whats good for the goose is good for the gander.

Side Note: I do not work for marketforce.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I believe that the highest price they are allowed to offer at least matches the website price, but they still have to follow the script and offer the lower price first, just in case someone would accept it.

Why would you want them to just match the website pay when you could just accept it there if you wanted to do it for that price?? When they call me for the fast casual shop, I'm waiting to get offered the $25 they always pay me (eventually). Typically they will submit it for approval but if they say that they cannot, I tell them no and that I'll speak to them later in the weekend, which usually happens. Once you get paid a decent price for a location, you should be able to request that going forward. I recently got a $28 "make an offer" accepted on their site for a shop I'd always done for $25, likely because it was Tuesday and they were desperate. I am looking forward to insisting on $28 for that shop the next time the scheduler calls me.
I'm not saying that I accept it. I tell them what it is on the website and that I would self-assign if I wanted it at that price. I then ask for a higher price if I am interested.

When on earth has MF ever been high paying?! I have worked with them for more than ten years and their pay scale, at least in my area, has always been marginal. If anything goes wrong--with your work OR with their system--and needs additional time and effort to fix, you end up below minimum wage, sometimes way below--and this includes fee + reimbursement. But beyond that, their pay scale has shrunk and continues to shrink over time. A number of years ago, when I was newer to MF, I read a post here observing this exact same thing. Reducing pay is just part of how they do business. I have backed off from their assignments as they pulled this routine and these days I work for them only very occasionally and only on shops with a substantial bonus.

Call center lowballing is not a new tactic. I first encountered it probably 5-6 years ago.

I always know what the posted rate is so when they call I tell them that rate and ask for more. If they're calling, they're getting desparate.
I say what I'm willing to do it for then get off the phone. I'm not interested in having my time wasted going back and forth. When they (always a female voice), says what I did it for before I say I don't see how that's relevant, decline and get off the phone before they start what if I combine it with xyz location with lowers the overall fee.
I caught them scheduling me for a shop I clearly declined earlier in the day and told them the fee was too low. They continued calling a few times that day and I didn't answer. Later that evening I was scheduled despite not answering the phone. Called them and the scheduler said I could cancel. I said NO you will remove it because I never accepted it and the cancellation would count against me. I promptly emailed the help desk and let them know the shop would not get done and why.
I was contracted with Speedmark Web, which became Shop 'n' Check, then morphing into MFI. In 2010, I was fired, so I am only able to comment to that year. They were NEVER anything but a low paying company. One I only used as a filler if I were going to be in that area AND had extra time.
