Sentry “banned” me

Well…it seems that I’ve been banned or labeled “do not use” by Sentry. I’m not sure why. I think it may have something to do with me calling them some years ago about a very, very late payment. If I remember correctly the payment was about a 3-4 weeks- maybe a month late and I had called and emailed several times attempting to find out what was going on. I do remember leaving a voicemail in which I said that it was very unprofessional of them not to respond to my inquiries.

But since I’m not sure, I did email their help department and asked. This was about 3-4 years ago so who knows if anyone even knows why it happened. I do know I was paid for the shops- eventually- and I was still doing shops for a sister company until the pandemic started.

I've heard this before. I think this is the only company I have ever gotten so upset with that I did that.
I can understand why. This was so upsetting because it was for a substantial sum of money. But even if it hadn't been, it was very unprofessional of them to not respond.
Interesting. I noticed when I was going through my books the other day, I have a relatively small reimbursement only shop that they have not yet been paid me from October. It wasn't that much, but I was scratching my head on it, wondering about them or if I even wanted to fool with following up for less than $10.00. I have mystery shopped off and on for years, but that is the only shop I have done for Sentry in years. One does like to know these things. I tend to avoid reimbursement shops with companies that lag on such. I will however do a small such to see how things go before I take on anything that cuts into my wallet. Lessons learned on that.

Hi GinnyLynn,

October assignments were assigned to invoice 138, invoice 140, or invoice 141. 138 and 140 were processed for payment in nid-November. Invoice 141 was processed in later November and early December. You should have received payment for your October shop.

Please submit an inquiry so we can look into the situation and get you paid ASAP. You can email help@sentryinsights.com and a team member will promptly review and respond to your inquiry.

Edited to correct invoice number and payment dates.

You have to admit that it is pretty comical that they chime in here to assist the last post and don't bother to address the concern of the OP.

In all fairness they may not know who she or he is. Most of us are posting under an alter. They're not even confirming the exact payment they're just aligning the payment dates with the invoice number so that OP can check.

This!!
I think I have done 1 shop with (maybe 2) with SENTRY in last 18 years. If I remember right, this MSC requires passing quizzes for their crappy shops. I don't want to bother with that. I get why they want to "weed out' crap shoppers, but I guess I have too many other assignments to choose from than to "prove" I can pass the quiz.

I guess if they really had a shop I wanted to do...then I would tolerate it, but from what I remember their clientele list didn't excite me. I don't remember how long they took to pay since it's been so long since I've done a shop with them.
In fact, we are addressing the concern of the OP. The OP submitted a request for assistance prior to posting on this forum. We are communicating with them via that support ticket.

It appeared that GinnyLynn has not reached out to us for help so I responded to them in order to address the issue as soon as possible.

When I lived in Dallas, Sentry had quite a few local chains that I liked to shop for them. I disliked their quizzes to qualify for shops, but that was just the cost of doing business.

I haven't seen many shops from them in the Northeast, but I'm guessing TexGmn is in Texas where Sentry has a lot of shops.

It would be nice to see Sentry address the issues it has with TexGmn as it seems they would like to continue shopping for Sentry.
They do have a couple of nice shops but their requirement to keep tabs on 5 other transactions during the shop gives me pause. That seems more intrusive than Coyle where we would do a writeup on the flow of guests during our shop.
They also seem to be far less flexible on shop pay. I have had Coyle pay out better and at times close to double of what Sentry is offering.

I haven't worked for Sentry for years. I seem to remember editors telling me I'm not giving enough details and specific quotes of a conversation that I was forbidden from recording, for super low paying jobs that I shouldn't have signed up for to begin with.
We've researched the situation and responded to the OP. We would not deactivate a shopper's account because they checked on the status of payment. We were able to elaborate on the details of the OP's specific situation with them in our communication.
