Has Anyone Done a QACi Restaurant Shop?

I've noticed that the owner of QACi has just joined the forum.

There is a dinner shop I am interested in doing for them. However, it says in the e-mail that once I am assigned a shop, they will send me an example of what they expect in the report. That makes me hesitant.

"If accepted for the shop a sample report showing the questions and the way they are to be written will be sent to you by the scheduler."

Also, the job description is:

"Dining room shop; PM dinner 5-8 PM any day of the week. Budget $100 for two. Please read the CSI fully for the role plays and other requirements (photos of food items included) to have the report accepted. Very nice upscale casual dining concept. Great beer list. Very focused on gluten free offerings and handling allergies. If you are chosen to do the shop a sample report will be sent to you so you understand what is required of you."

There is no indication of a shop fee, it appears to me to be a reimbursement only shop.

Are these Coyle type reports or something else?

As I mentioned in another QACi thread a few weeks ago, I've done many shops for them and look forward to doing many more. The reports are more succint than Coyle but they do require role playing.and attention to detail, so I'd consider them more demanding than, say, ACL, and often it's helpful to brief your guest in advance of the shop. The sample report is just that, and is no different than the sample reports that many (but not enough) MSCs have in their guidelines. I also read this new shop as being reimbursement only, which I have not seen with this MSC before. Since I haven't seen the ordering requirements I'm not sure how easy it would be to stay under reimbursement. I imagine that if I'm assigned a location I'll go slightly over, but not by a lot.

Thank you for responding. I did do a search for QACi before I posted this and it only returned the owners post.
What areas of the country are you seeing job postings? Anything in California? I don't believe I am even signed up with this company or I'm not recognizing QAC.

So taking my sister who I've briefed that it's a MYSTERY SHOP who then shouts out "they shouldn't be doing that or what are they doing" is not a good second person to bring on this shop.

Sorry, that was meant to be comedic relief. LOL, LOL. But, unfortunately, so true on so many occasions.

When I first started mystery shopping years ago, I had similar experiences with friends. One was so bad that I stopped doing the kinds of shops that required others to be on. Fortunately I live in NYC area, where I can do shops that dont require others and it is perfectly okay to eat alone.
I must say I really like Coyle. Their schedulers are great to work with and we have enjoyed the fine dining restaurants they have assignments for in Dallas. Sadly, we will be on a six month cooldown very soon and will be looking for another 'pasture to graze in'.
All of our reports so far were approved for payout. Most of them were bonused as well. I did get one email from an editor rating my submission at 89%. It would have been nice to see a few of my reports after editing so I could get that score higher.
Reminds me of the time I took my young Granddaughter on a fast casual shop with me.

I explained the concept of mystery shopping to her, and later as she approached our table while returning from the restroom, she announces "IT'S CLEAN GRANDPA."

I laughed for ten minutes!
That reminds me of the time that I brought my husband on a mystery shop with me. His brother called to wish him a happy birthday as we were sitting in a lounge area waiting to be seated for lunch. His brother asked him what he was doing for his birthday and my husband casually responded, "Oh, we're doing a mystery shop right now!"

My head snapped back so fast towards him, and I quickly looked around to make sure no one heard. His mouth dropped open before he hastily ended the call. I could've killed him! Fortunately, nothing came of it, but I reminded him that this was why he doesn't answer phone calls while we're waiting, even if it was in an area that we wouldn't be suspected.
