That sounds like a terrible experience for you!

If you search this forum, you will find other threads and posts where people have discussed this company. Even though I have not had any issues with the company, other people have. They might commiserate with you and offer information.

Good luck to you! smiling smiley

"I don’t know if sassie realizes that they employ corrupt people." Just for info, Sassie does not employ anyone at a MSC. It is a software platform that MSC's use for their shops. The MSC pays Sassie for this.
@verykarry, Welcome to the Forum! So sorry to hear of your experience with JMRidgway. If you search the Forum here, you will find lots of other stories from shoppers who have had bad experiences with JMR, so you are not alone. I know that is no consolation, but at least you know it's just not you. Hope you will stick around and explore our Forum and find lots of helpful information for your shopping endeavors!
As far as complaining goes, they are a small company, you basically spoke to everybody there worth speaking to so if you burnt that bridge, its done. Sassie doesn't employ them any more than Gmail employs me for using their services, your complaint will not have an effect there, best thing to do is to cut ties and chop the money up as a loss.I know its not the advice you were hoping to hear but I really dont think there is much else you can do, maybe file a complaint with MSPA?

If MSPA cared this company would have been deleted long ago. I agree just don't work for anyone that doesn't pay you.
Frank, Nikki and JM Ridgway are all up and down, over and through this forum. Frank is the owner and head of JMR, and Nikki has been let go from every other possible mystery shopping company in the industry. I’m sorry to say, but your other 7/10 shops probably won’t be paid.

Before doing work for a new company, it’s always a good idea to use the Forum Search function and check for legitimacy. Tough lesson to learn that there are some real “stinkers” out there in the mystery shopping industry.
I only worked for them twice. It was a great experience. Two big bonuses. Two easy jobs. Compliments from the scheduler. I am sorry you had this experience. My advice to others is to give them a try anyway, because I had reservations and went for it anyways.
There are other metrics that judge companies and are widely used: Google Reviews, Glassdoor and Yelp come to mind. I’d write a concise, unemotional, and fact-based review of JM Ridgway and post it to all three of those websites. It probably won’t help you to get paid, but at least it’s an Internet bread crumb trail for other mystery shoppers to see and follow.
Sorry to hear about your problems!
I did a few shops for them a LONG time ago. The pay was fair and when I say fair, I mean what we should be getting paid, not the pittance that is dangled out there by half of the MSC's. The reports I had to do were long, but the pay was right so it was..fair. smiling smiley I think at that time they paid via check the following month and I did receive it in full. So overall my experiences were good. Granted, my shops were forever ago and things change over time..
I shopped for JMR years ago but I remember that I always had to contact Frank for payment after it was due. I was promptly paid after the contact though.

I’ve done approximately 89 shops for JMR, beginning in 2012.

My last shops for JMR were a series of 24 video shops in the Midwest. It was a lengthy and expensive route through Iowa and Illinois, and I had considerable expenses. Nikki Atkins was my scheduler, and Frank was running the project. Payment had been agreed upon to be Net 30. After 40 days I began inquiring about payment; my experience getting my fee was exceptionally poor, with Nikki and Frank pointing fingers at each other. I was finally paid, but the experience was so stressful that I deactivated my account and would not shop again for them, period.

Bob's comment--If more shoppers would take Katie's stance, some of the male bovine manure would be reduced.

Aw, Bobby, thanks.

I’m very businesslike regarding my money. Very tough and unforgiving. And I have a few different income streams, so what works for me (deactivating after unprofessional behavior) may not be possible for others, unfortunately.

My attitude towards my IC pay comes from being around a lot of skilled building tradespeople: professional painters, plumbers, electricians. They are in high demand (as are competent route video shoppers) and don’t put up with nonsense regarding their checks. I learned a lot, following their business practices.
So according to your post, they paid you for the 3 shops you discovered you were not paid for? Why was Frank not helpful? Are you saying you have 7 more unpaid shops? If so, I don't understand that from your post.

This is by far, the most unprofessional, corrupt, and unorganized company I’ve ever worked for. Which sucks because I love doing apartment shops. I did a bunch of shops last summer and was updating my spreadsheet for the end of the year and realized I never got paid for three jobs. I reached out to assh0le Frank, who was so rude and unhelpful, I asked for a manager. He claimed to be a manager and there was nobody else to talk to. I told him that I was supposed to be paid within five days via their “rapid pay.” It was clearly in my notes that I would be paid within five days. After going back and forth at least 10 times, he finally paid me for three out of the 10 shops I did. Of course, he didn’t label any of them so I had no idea what he paid me for and when I asked he basically ignored me. Then I reached out to my scheduler, a very incompetent Nikki, who was just as rude. To make a long story short, I plan on reaching out all over the CyberWorld to find out how I can put a legitimate complaint in about this company. I don’t know if sassie realizes that they employ corrupt people. After much research, I found login information and when I tried to, I realize that they had completely removed me from their system. I guess that’s what happens when you complain. I wonder how many other people have never been paid for their jobs?
i don't remember if I did a shop with them before (have shopped since 2003), but I just did one this week.

My question is, do they not say anything when they "finalize" the report? I didn't receive any email asking for additional information, but I also did not receive a shop grade either. I checked a few times to see if the report was finalized or not and I see now that it is, but I wasn't sure how they operated. I get shop grades for other SASSIE reports I complete.

Don't expect feedback unless there's a problem.
