I don’t use this platform too often but does anyone know if it shows more shop to shoppers with higher ranks?

Around where I shop they basically do a major cable TV provider and a Mom and Pop hardware store. Those are the only two companies I've done for them recently. They also had a regional brewery's in house restaurant a couple years back that I enjoyed but I think they stopped being shopped.

I do know if you flake on one shop you will be put on probation which will prevent you from self assigning any shops.

Yes, that is exactly how they work. The higher your rank the more shops you will be eligible to do.
By far, the largest number of shops in this area are for the dominant convenience store chain with the goose as its logo. There are also shops for a large bridal store chain, and often shops to see if a credit card is offered (same credit card provider with co-branded cards across well over a dozen different chains). Recently they have had a dozen different fast-food chains where the is the intent is to do timings and take some photos. These are not IMHO for any of the chains being shopped.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
What I’m wondering is if there are shops hidden from view until we reach a certain rank?

I laugh at their job descriptions. It says (if I'm thinking of the right company) that I'm supposed to inquire about a service with a major cable provider in my area. I have to name an address that could be serviced by them but they never state which service I am supposed to inquire about (Cable TV, Internet, Phone, etc...). And like 4 times, they stress that you have to take a picture of the exterior of the store. They give a sample picture to even re-enforce what type of picture they want. Seldom have I seen an MSC so worried about a picture of the exterior.

Just be cool folks.

Are you sure that isn't done by the MSC known as Secret Shopper???

I don't know to be honest. I am signed up with the company I was thinking about but haven't done any shops for them. Ironically (I do rideshare also) and I park in a Starbucks and wait for ride requests if I don't have an immediate shop to complete. Well, I was pulling out of the Starbucks this morning and right smack-dab in front of me--filling up my windshield essentially--was the word "SPECTRUM". I thought about the shop offering and how this would be the perfect shot for them.
Secret Shopper and iSecret Shop are different. The first is a MS company with their own platform. The cable company shops where they want the storefront photo are here.

The other is a platform with shops from several different MS companies, including the one with the bridal shop.
iSecret is a good one. Tire shops, wings and other restaurants.
Their schedulers are a little slow; their reviewers are helpful.
Surveys are fairly easy.
