Sorry. Wouldn't know. I stopped doing their excessively long reports for NO pay. I know they have some NON-food clients that involve pay, but I just was so burned out by the reports I did in the past, I never have wanted to go back.

ACL is a great company. They do a great job for their clients with their detailed reports. As a shopper, it's NOT fun for me to have to put that much effort in when there are easier assignments that involve PAY.
I have never been required to submit an "excessively long report" to ACL. Maybe five to eight short paragraphs if that. Perhaps it is the type of shop which I do for them which has such short reporting requirements.

I used to do their National Pizza Chain (invested in by Lebron James) and those shops were way over the top for a fast casual place. Everyone's definition of "excessive" is going to vary. However, I compare ACL reports to similar reports for other MSC and ACL was always MORE involved and usually involved NO pay.

I've adopted a new motto with them....NO PAY = NO WAY

I can afford to be more selective with my time and assignments now. I didn't have those standards in the past.

Their storage shops and home decor pay and have easy, peasy reports. . The regional convenience/fuel shops pay and reimburse at a very nice level. The reports are hilariously simple! You may be missing some $$$$.

Absolutely. I work for my benefit, not as a charity to cheap MSCs.
I haven't switched yet but I probably will. I really wish they would list the shops associated with each check like they used to.

Agreed! I'm doing about $300 a month in phone shops for them.
I like them just fine. They have a fair number of various shops for decent pay in my area. I confess though, with them, I mostly just do restaurants. I know they merely reimburse, but they have the best line-up of high end restaurant shops of any other MS I know of in my area, and I am a sucker for a good meal. For much of my career, I have been a writer/editor, tech and otherwise, so the narratives are just my cup of tea. Easy. Peasy. With almost every other shop I do, it is all about the bottom line, but I jump on their restaurant shops. As to the original question about Paypal, yes, I switched over with them and I love it. No problems, so far.

Similar to you, with a background in marketing, I have written many pieces over the years. That experience has certainly proved beneficial when it comes to MS narratives.

After seeing this post it reminded me to update my payment method. Done!
Two months ago I did a shop that was "Fast Pay", was in my PayPal in days. Last month I did a storage shop, noted it was dated/scheduled about a month payout after the shop. That shop paid by paper check. I'm wondering if A Closer Look is going hybrid with both Paper and Paypal, depending on the client.

You're right! It's a hybrid for right now. The fast pay are the ones that are paying by PayPal and everything else is still check. I'm hoping they move towards PayPal for all.
I don't know if they had issues rolling out paypal, because it seems like they initially had a lot of the "fast pay" shops and now almost all the shops I see are back to pay by check.
