So the basic fee is, what, $35? Who was it that said, "Never pay a company for mystery shopping information?" Oh, yeah, EVERYBODY!!!

My thoughts exactly. Hate to sound like a pompous A-hole, but what is the purpose? After a more than a couple decades doing this I doubt there is ANYTHING new to learn. No thank you, shops don't pay that well.

As far as I see, the purpose for them is to spend OUR money (money they could be using to pay us fair fees and consistently denied bonuses) while rubbing our noses in it, laughing about it and promoting themselves as super trendy and fun.

I paid, but had the death of a close friend and did not attend. Was flying and staying on points, so I only lost $60.

There was a group photograph on the website with the Queen in the middle, but it is only of a small amount of people, 11, I think, plus cardboard Fred. Maybe the others were editors and associates?

Perfectly sums up my feelings. I could not have said it better myself. They can afford to hold these events and make people feel special, but they have to aggressively attempt to lower mystery shopping pay in the middle of an inflationary recession. It is insulting and belittling to the professionals that work so hard to get their shops done.
We have been shopping for years and years, and we do a great job. We travel to every remote corner of the Galaxy to get some of these locations done. We don't need any swag, and we don't need a workshop. We just need to get paid. I strongly believe they are trying to replace us. All of the evidence leads to that.
