Is this one of the longest payout schedules among MSCs?

MysteryshopperServices.com, a division of Business Evaluation Services on Isecretshop.com now says: "MSP typically pays within 154 days of completion."
Yikes! What could possibly justify taking this long to pay for a shop? At this rate, this has become a zero percent interest short-term loan. Is this becoming typical?

Been a long time since I have completed a shop for them. That is an unacceptable amount of time to be paid for work. I bet they wouldn't appreciate their clients paying them 154 days after receiving reports.

How do they arrive at 154? Why not 150? They need extra 4 days? Maybe it was a typo and should have been 54 instead of 154?

Well, I'm not sure where you saw this, because I've just come from that web site, and have read the provider Contracts & Policies for Mystery Shopper Services, which is, as you say, a division of BES....here is a copy/paste of their Payment Policy right from their contract:

Please note that a W9 form and IC Agreement are required. Payment is sent out 45 days from when the shop has been edited. Under special circumstances dictated by the client, reimbursements may be handled differently and sent out earlier than the 45 days. In such cases this will be noted in the shop notes.

I think she may be looking at her ISS payment history. There is a footnote on each shop paid by MSS that reads "*MSP typically pays within 154 days of completion."

I have shopped with MSS since 2016 and have never waited that long to be paid. Typically 45-58 days, as recent as recent as this year.

I want to say it is an error on ISS' part, but sure enough that footnote goes back as far as my 2016 shops.

@Zek is correct. There is a note on all of the shops completed for them in the ISS payment history portal. Though the same note appears on all the shops completed over the prior years, this number seems to change over time.
I haven't done many shops for them, but have found them fine to work with and have not waited an excessive period for payment in the past. This definitely gave me pause though. Perhaps it is a mistake. Hopefully, someone from there will weigh in and let us know.

Yikes!! Thanks for that information! I have only worked a couple of times for them over the years, and have never waited beyond 6 weeks to be paid. But isn't it so odd that they would have that in writing at the end of their footnotes when they pay!! I'm thinking maybe somebody did make a typo on that one!

Hello,

The "MSP typically pays within X days" that you are seeing on ISS is based on a lot of factors from past years averaged and other factors that impact calculations.

We can assure everyone those are not accurate numbers and a reminder our current payment turnaround is around 28 to 35 days.

I've done shops with them and they paid in way less time. They've been good to work with, imo.
