Ipsos Pay Held

I completed a shop on October 25th and never received any communication after submitting it. A few days ago I just happened to check the My Pay section on their website and noticed the shop was on hold, the reason being they were requesting additional narrative. So I added the requested information and resubmitted the shop. Now I log in and see that the shop is Pay Held. I've emailed and am awaiting a response, but I suspect it's because I didn't submit the edits within the 12 hour timeframe they give you for that. But, the thing is, they never emailed me about it. I looked at my settings and all the alerts and notifications are turned on. How am I supposed to complete requested edits within 12 hours if they don't tell me about it? Anyone else have an issue like this with IPSOS?

There may be hope with the words "hold pay." They may be seeking approval from a PM or the client for whatever reason. If they are not going to pay, typically the word "excluded" is used. You could try emailing the editor.

I had a $7 phone shop excluded yesterday without any notice. Did 3 in one day, 10/5. All sat in editing until 10/25 when I got a edit request on all 3. The editor is a over the top PITA. Never had so much back and forth on a phone shop.

Last night I was doing a query on my Oct shops and noticed 1 was excluded. Never got a notification, but did see the comments in the shop log.

I'm not going to loose sleep; even tho a phone shop, too much was required for $7 and honestly I'm happy to know the editor is now flying on her broom somewhere else.
Don't hold your breath...I have been working with IPSOS for over 3 years, and I have NEVER had a shop marked "excluded"...they are simply marked "hold pay" and no matter how much I write, or whom I write, I never get any response...not...one...response....in three years and about 10 shops in that "hold pay" purgatory! Actually, it isn't 'purgatory' at all...it's definitively in the "Fagitaboutit, you lose, sucka!" category! About a year ago I even had one shop labeled "hold pay" twice, and after the third assignment, with the same original data inputted (yes, I was assigned to the same shop three times and submitted the same data and receipts each time), the shop went through smoothly and I got paid. It was at that point that I realized that IPSOS is a REALLY big train and often finds itself struggling to stay on the tracks!
I’ve had the same experience but I did get a response when I wrote to them. They said they emailed me. I didn’t get the email and I always check my junk folder. They told me the date and time they sent it. Again, I definitely didn’t get it. I asked them to forward me the email because I’d like to know what I didn’t do correctly for future shops. They said they couldn’t forward me the email but they cut and pasted the body of the email to me. Highly suspicious. It sound like their emails end up in the abyss and we don’t get paid.
I just remembered something ..... was this a Shopmetrics shop? They do use "hold pay" when they are not going to pay on a shop.
The editors on the Sassie side are the ones that use the word "excluded."
Yep, Shopmetrics. I've had 2 "hold pay" with them over the years. But those were actually deserved, where I made a mistake. As far as I know, I followed the guidelines to a T on this one. And if it is just because I didn't submit the requested edits within 12 hours, I think that's ridiculous and quite shady. I definitely did not get an email, I also check my junk folder daily. I did reach out to the editor and she responded. She said she was forwarding it on to the project manager. So hopefully I'll get a response from the PM.
You can ask the editor who the PM is, that is disclosable information, then email the PM yourself, too.
Well, I was a bit surprised today to receive an email from the PM. Very brief and to the point...she stated that she would change the pay status to accepted and I should be paid in the next cycle. Didn't explain why it was held and I'm not gonna bother asking. Happy to be paid for completed work. Thanks for the help and suggestions, everyone!
Been a shopper with Ipsos for so many years, and I do tons of shops a month with them. Yes, there are some Hold Pay and they were all my fault. My communication with them was pretty superb too. I always send emails with my scheduler or use their generic email. All their shops require same-day submission by midnight some even by 10 PM PT.
I was told not to use the generic email address when communicating with the schedulers. Because those were for their mass email notifications on available shops, so they rarely have time to look at incoming mail on that address. But the other one they use is supposed to be for the back and forth communication.
Opal...I understand IPSOS' need for quick submission (usually midnight) but REALLY don't like them scheduling me for the darkness shops in summer (It gets dark here at 9:30-10:00 PM!) and then getting all snarly with me when I get home at midnight or 1 AM and decide to actually SLEEP first. Their Customer First shops usually automatically drop from my log at 7:30 AM (my time). Every once in a while, I find myself groggily approaching my keyboard at 6 AM to enter a shop completed the night before at 11 PM!!!
This happened to me a few times and I was so annoyed. They reasoned it saying that they had emailed for clarification, and that I didn't respond it time, even though I knew for a fact that I did, I just didn't have the proof. Oh well, lesson learned. but their quick need for a response is incredibly unreasonable.
hold pay is shops in shopmetrics, excluded are Sassie shops, but both mean that they have been through the process and won't be paid. If there is a scheduler listed email them to find out what happened and if not the main email

it means that a guideline wasn't followed or for some other reason the shop couldn't be sent to the client. To find out why if you didn't get an email you can email the scheduler or mystery.shopping@ipsos.com
