I shop for Ipsos

Watch out for this company. I have been MS for 14 years and this is the first time time this has happened. I did a gas station shop(yellow one) and was promised $39.00 for the job and when I was paid it was only $12.50 with no explanation. I emailed the scheduler multiple times to no avail. Very frustrating.

When you say "promised," was this verbally or you have written communication showing $39 pay when you accepted this assignment (shop instrx/acceptance email)? IPSOS is too big to purposefully try to screw you over. I have done shops for them and have never had a problem. I only do bonused shops and have always been paid in full.

I'm sure someone has a contact email or phone number to resolve this for you.
It was written, this is from the original accepted of the job:
Your Fees:
$14.00 - Fee for successful shop completion
$11.00 - Bonus
$14.00 - Expense limit
But I was only paid $12.50
Just a guess but was it a closed location? if that the case $12.50 is half of the shop fee of $25 ($14 fee plus $11 Bonus).

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I've shopped for Ipsos for years with no problems whatsoever. They were always my favourite company until just recently. I'm now on the verge of never working for them again. I have had pay held on three different shops, two of them 'approved shipper' shops for which I paid huge amounts to insist on shipping a certain way. They beg you not to abandon these because of high costs and yet they've rejected two of mine and refuse to tell me why. I'm starting to wonder if this is a new cost-saving approach like insurance companies denying claims. We have no proof they don't go ahead and submit a perfectly good shop to a client.

Shopping domestic and international locations since 2003.
I like Ipsos just fine. But this surely is a dark cloud. I am very wary of which companies I do and do not pull out my wallet for. Also, no matter the company, I flat don't do it for schedulers who play games, don't answer emails, and dole out "1s" for shops that are rejected but would have been absolutely fine if they too had done their job and responded to emails and/or shopper site forms about various and sundry unclear guidelines and anomalous situations with a shop location.

I've also had emails asking me to pay a chunk of change up front and then threatening me with a list of whatevers that will lead to the shop being rejected, and I not only will not be paid, but I will not be reimbursed for whatever the shop cost was and sometimes that is not leaving me with a thing to show in my hand, like not even a hamburger, all while they are offering me $5 or $10 for both my effort and the use (loan) of my money in running their business. Nope, I'm not going to do it.

Yes, there have been times when I felt like some of these folks were just ready to pull a con on the shoppers. I never felt that with Ipsos though. I am sorry to hear such, but hearing of these things is one of the absolute most valuable things about this forum. I sure do want to know such.

It is disturbing that you can't get a response. Is there another email address you can email? I would imagine there's an email like "info@ipsos.com" or something you can try.

I had a discrepancy with another company - it was before payroll but the reimbursement was listed as a penny and it was supposed to be $5. I emailed the scheduler and she must have just sent it on to payroll, because I didn't hear back but it was corrected when I checked it again and it was correct when I was paid.

There's a lot more involved than just showing the letter to the cashier. There are pictures.. a lot of pictures, POP/OSA to check, cleanliness to check, restrooms, uniforms, pump decals etc etc etc

This is probably why they didn't respond to my emails. That is too much trouble for the money. Thank you for informing me.
Oh and you don't get on your phone for the authorization. You have to print it and present it to them with the date, time and shopper #.

That is crazy for the amount of money they are offering. I used to do audits years ago for a national convenience store. It took about 45 minutes but they paid really well. I wish they were still available.

Thank you, I thought that was too easy for the pay.

And you're supposed to print the letter ahead of time.
Lesson learned. Do not shop for Ipsos. They don’t care about your time or money and assume all shopper are liars.
