Bare bad

I did these for several years as my main source of income. Over 300,000 prices. My thanks was to be told i cant shop these anymore due to too many prices not found. The last project was a set up to fail. It was on my $15 pay for over 100 items just to have the obnixious schedule demand this and that. The items requested were non existant. Who carries a ham pretzel? Or what idiot owns a gas station and does not know that most gas stations do infact offer fountain drinks for one price for any size? Those are the things they complained about and why they doubted my integretiy. I hope who ever took the next round finds the same findings.
Oh and that $15 cost me money if they did pay me for those. It cost more than $15 for gas to drive to a gas station unless its on the corner of your street. Now they didnt pay because they wanted a reshop for free because the counts were low. The counts were low due to whatever idiot put together that list.

In 2006, Bare was the very first MSC I terminated; it was strictly a one and done situation. Both the scheduler and ombudsperson agreed I was in the right and I was subsequently paid, but the matter was so negative I decided to exit the relationship. I have never, for a second, regretted my decision.
They are the only company I ever did a shop for where I didn’t get paid. The items I was supposed to look for were, for a fact, not there.

Honestly left a real bad taste in my mouth. It wasn’t that long ago, I feel like going back to them and asking for compensation. I physically DID THE SHOP. Not my fault the items weren’t there.
If you did the job, I would too.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
I like the @shopperbob "termination" stories :-) The only difference is...this Terminator will NOT be back !!!

This is the most frustrating thing about shopping - we are the ones in the field, but the people sitting at a desk sending emails think they know what's going on.
Is Bare bad across the board? I saw their Appliance shops at big box locations and was conflicted if I should try them based on comments here.
No, I have done over 1000 shops for them. I won't do the pricing checks though. Seems like a lot of work. I don't "work" for less than $50 an hour, usually more. I'll do lots of shops for less than $50 an hour, but there must be a benefit to me: Car wash, gasoline, groceries, etc,
They have some worthwhile projects. I won't do the appliance shops at base rate because it doesn't meet my criteria but have done the appliance shops when bonused. The report isn't too bad.
I have not done a lot for Bare but I am happy with them so far. I did a older person insurance shop this year at an IHOP where we were only offered a soft drink or coffee. One of the other guests ordered off the menu but when we walked out and she went over to the cashier to pay the cashier said it was taken care of. I mentioned it in my report and Bare sent me an additional $10 so I could get lunch somewhere to make up. I did not ask for it , they just sent it to me.
They emailed and texted me about doing 2 price checks in towns an hour away, approx time to complete, 1 hour each for a whopping $22 each. lol doesn't even pay for my gas let alone my time/taxes and so on.
I have done some good jobs with Bare in the past, so I still consider them worthy of keeping on my list.
They used to have good shops, but recently their shops have not been that interesting. Last time I shopped for them, it was a money order shop. The shop listing stated that you would have to pick up $20 from the money transfer office, and there would be an additional pay of $20. I never got paid, although I did the shop, submitted the report, and was graded 10. Later, the scheduler reached out and asked me if I could do another shop in order to put the non-paid one on the pay statement. I did not find a shop that I wanted to do for them so I never got paid. You shouldn't have to do another shop to get paid for the one you already did. I haven't shopped with them since - don't know if I will, unless I find a really interesting shop. Companies change with time, sometimes good MSC go downhill... that's just the nature of the business
Like most mscs there are good shops and bad shops. Ones that pay good, fair, bad, and horrible. I find most base fees no matter the msc are too low. If the fee is too low ask for what you need. The worst they can say is no.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I did those back in 2020. They were graded and accepted. When it was time to pay they didn’t. I inquire to and was told their client didn’t accept it because they didn’t like my answers. What? If you client saw it they used it. My answers weren’t what I said it was what I was told by the associate so how is any of that my fault?
I honestly think it was due to Covid as I did them in March just before Covid. The company was having a hard time and we all new it. Schedulers were being laid off and sent emails about it. I believe they just didn’t pay to try to save their company.
Oh and no one ever said a thing about those shops that had perfect 10s not being accepted by the client until I asked where my pay was.

I was told to do a reshop with no pay because the client gave stupid items to find that didn’t exist so my counts were low. It was going to be the same finding on a reshop.
Oh and I was deactivated for false reasons the manager made up. I addressed every single issue and not only that, I gave factual proof and screen shots to prove the manager had lied. It didn’t change their mind. But what concerns me the most is one of those reasons was unusual activity on my IP address. Excuse me? Why are they looking at my search history on my IP address?
And what does that have to do with anything? It’s not right in the slightest bit. I never agreed to that and declined them from even using cookies.
Are you going around to a bunch of threads right now just to tack on complaints about MSCs? LOL, you seem really cranky. I hope your day gets better!

You’d be cranky too if you were cheated out of money and schedulers you worked with for 10-15 years just made up a bunch of lies about you and the MSCs always take their side no matter how wrong. I gave them actual proof for goodness sakes.
And seriously why are they looking at my IP searches? I feel violated.
I have no idea as to what they mean by unusual? It’s none of their business
Could you have allowed another shopper to sign in on your device? Family member, whatever?
It is not universal by any means, but it is also not uncommon in the Middle Atlantic Region to have all fountain drinks be the same price.

Shopper1234, I have never seen a gas station offer any size drink for one price.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
Speedway, circle K etc all have all sizes fountain drinks one price. I’d upload a picture of the one on the corner if I could.
Not once. They track your IP address. They dont have a right to do that?
They said unsual ip search history. Why is that any of their business?
