Ipsos...the 1 dollar shop!

Ipsos paid me $1.00 for a shop! It was a location that was short staffed, so the salesperson closed the store for an hour and a half , midday, on a weekday(!), and posted a crudely handwritten sign on the door which said "Closed for lunch, back at 1:30".
Well, guess what?, I waited from 1:12 until 1:40, and the employee had not returned, so I left and submitted the report.
Ipsos 'graciously' paid me $1.00.
I have to just shake my head......wow....

Yup, similar here. I got a whole dollar for a closed location.Fortunately for me, I didn't have to wait around like you did. Sucks you had to deal with that.

..

What would really make me upset is that discovering that location was short-staffed and completely closed midday is valuable business intelligence. IPSOS is going to look really really good passing along this level of detailed information to their client - and you were paid less than the cost of a pack of gum.

Also recently got a $1 for a closed location. It was permanently closed as in signage gone except for the store logo on the door. I always got paid $5 in past for such closed locations. Do the normal $12 phone shops pay $1 for closed vs $5 closed for normal $16 phone shops? Here I thought $5 was cheap but for 3 mins not going to complain if it was on route which is how I do these but $1 is not acceptable.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I did a $9 web/phone shop for Ipsos (Sassie) and the guidelines said that if you could not reach anyone in a specific department after three phone calls, then submit it for partial pay - which I did. An editor told me to keep trying and I refused, citing the guidelines (if it was a high-paying shop, I might have been glad to have the chance to keep trying, but I had done a ton of these and was tired of them). They paid me $2. I thought that was rather cheap, but since it was one out of many phone shops that I did for them while comfortably sitting at home, it didn't really bother me much. At that point, I was so-o-ooo over dealing with those shops. But getting only $1 is ridiculous after actually visiting a location.
Invest it wisely!

Due to a work:pay ratio that is unacceptable to me, I am not contracted with Ipsos. Their pay, though, seems to be A-okey dok with thousands of shoppers..As it relates to pay, it is no more than necessary to fill their jobs and I have no reason to believe they are crooked. To those who are dissatisfied with the MSC, they have but to deactivate their agreement.
Appropos of nothing but still a "shake my head" moment.... there is an apartment mystery shopping company that paid me $5 for a shop once. The way it was supposed to go is that you placed your call, talked to them and then went and did a tour. Well, I guess the staff was screening calls because they would not answer the phone after literally trying every business day for two weeks. I made over 20 calls in 2 weeks on their recorded line. Half way through, they told me to call the direct number then, make an excuse to disconnect, and call back on the recorded line. LOL... Anyway...they would never answer the phone. After 20 calls...$5.00. I've enjoyed a fruitful relationship with the company before and after this but that really just made me laugh.

Just be cool folks.
I've been asked to jump through hoops to get a phone shop done and that's why I generally don't do them very often.

: Yes they did that to me as well for a credit purchase shop. I still say that their underpaying shoppers and poor business practices are the reason they are the largest shopping company. Because they have all the jobs and we make most of our money from them they get away with this garbage. $1 doesn't even cover a gallon of gas. $3 should be the minimum not 1 or 2. It costs $3+ for a gallon of gas!
It's sad when phone shops pay more than physical shops!
The way they're going ALL shops will be $1 in the near future! Open or closed, required purchase, no reimbursement. This is my new career as a clairvoyant.
I don't even LOOK at shops that pay under $10 unless it's a Circle K and I need the fast cash. Many of us won't do shops till they bonus them properly I think this is their way of getting even with us.It brings our "average pay" down if they can statistically put in that they paid us $1 for a shop and bring the "average" cost of jobs down. Might even be a marketing ploy. I wonder if the credit card company that they are doing it for knows that they are doing it?
