Has anybody conducted this shop yet? Is it worth the trouble?
I believe that in the Walmart ones, you have to return the next day with a "complaint." That's the deal-breaker for me.@wrosie wrote:
Morledzep,
These are not the shops you're thinking about. They are just going in and asking you to send money to a person and then cancelling the transaction.
I've done several recently at grocery stores when they get to $30.
If the customer service person knows what to do it's an easy 15 minute shop. If they don't it's still a somewhat easy 30-40 minute shop.
I haven't done a Walmart shop because I think I'd have to wait in line to do the purchase and then the cancellation. I might be in line trying to cancel longer than the maximum time to cancel without penalty.
Perhaps do it at low volume times, early or late.

Not that it is our problem as shoppers, but when you ask for a $20 transaction don't they KNOW you are a shopper? Who does that? Actually who uses WU at all except for international transfers? And then when you cancel they definitely know at that point, since they have been pulling this exact same scenario forever! Again, what normal customer would do any of this?

In these assignments, it's always to someone in another country. I do wonder if they recognize a shopper, especially for these assignments at the little stores where it's always the same clerk working there. I wonder if it would be different at walmart, where they have so many staff members.]
