Presto and Ipsos a combination made in He__

I took a Small Business MS and used the presto app to take the photo's, but when I went to transmit the photos the app tells me that the size for the photo isn't big enough..... Really my phone takes photos at 12 megapixels, but in the app took them in a smaller size. Now I can't get assistance from Presto they tell me to take it up with Ipsos and Ipsos tells me to take it up with Presto and this point all I want is my money back for 2 purchases that I made for the shop. No where in the guidelines does it say that the images have to be a specific pixel size and the message presto gives me is "Image is too small. Minimum allowed dimension is 1799 pixels; image provided is 1512 pixels x2688 pixels" so why would their app take the photo in that size if it's going to be an issue? and what would you do?

In your camera setting, you need to do at least 800 x 600 for mystery shop photos for all companies I have found

Are you near enough to the location to just return the purchases and get your money back? Or was it custom items that cannot be returned? That way the only thing you be out on is your time.
I can't return the items they were non refundable and at this point since I got no assistance from Ipsos or Presto I'm just out of luck. I have been doing this stuff for years and this is the first and last time I'm going to get burned by these 2. They both blamed each other for the problem in emails and neither would tell me why the pictures that was taken in the app weren't big enough. Oh and both of their customer support sucked, because it's email only and they both took forever to answer the questions and as with anyone who works with presto knows they give you a time limit to remedy the problem and when they wait forever to respond to you usually your time has expired.
I get that, but the photo was 1512 pixels x2688 pixels and still not big enough. I even tried to prove it was an issue with their app by taking a photo of the photo on my computer and then attaching it to the report and it was big enough, but rejected because it was a photo of the photo.
This happened to me once. What I did to resolve:

1. Opened the survey, opened the picture. Took a screenshot of the picture.
2. Emailed the screenshot to myself
4. Used a picture resizing program to increase the sceenshot. I like: [www.adobe.com]
5. Uploaded the larger picture to the Presto survey by accessing it on my laptop (which I was using to resize the photo)

It worked and only took a few minutes.
I will definitely keep what you did for future reference. Thank you so much. I just wished that I would have posted sooner. I could have maybe salvaged it.
They should definitely let shoppers know ahead of time about the minimum size requirement. I believe it is a Presto issue. I've never had a size problem with Sassie or SM on the computer or websites. Only Presto, and in other projects as well.
I emailed Presto and asked them to fix their compression. Last one I did I enlarged the receipt on my laptop screen, then took a pic of the laptop! It was accepted.
@Cassiespark I hope it is okay if I streamline your resolution (pun intended) a bit. smiling smiley

Instead of going through taking a screenshot and e-mailing it to yourself, simply upload the picture to [imageresizer.com] from your phone. (Since I normally do my reports from home, I download the pictures I need from Google Photos, and upload them from my computer instead of my phone.)

Once you upload the picture, on the left side you will see "Resize Settings." The only thing you need to change is either the WIDTH or HEIGHT. You will change whichever value is lowest to 1800. Make sure you keep the box for aspect radio checked so that your picture will still look normal and will adjust proportionally.

Next, press "Resize Image," which is located on the bottom left part of the page. The API will process the image, then refresh. You will see a large button that says, "Download Image." Press that button, you can rename the file you want, then save. Upload to presto.

This is not an issue with Presto, per se. From what I was told by a scheduler at the smart MSC, some clients require the image size to be a minimum of 1799 pixels. Presto has nothing to do with what a MSC client requires. Most shops within Presto do not require this, but there are a handful that do. The green gas station is another one that does.

I hope this helps and if I need to clarify anything, let me know.
Oof. Be very careful with increasing the size of an image. Doing so degrades the quality, and you run the risk of it becoming pixelated. It's fine to go smaller, but if at all possible, you should avoid going bigger. (Sorry - Photoshop editor here, so I had to toss my two cents in.)

There is an adobe app for free you can adjust tbe dimensions. It takes 1 minute. I used it for this issue
Its Adobe Express
It is Presto as it happens on every assignment i recall. I crop my photos.often and it gives me that message. If it was the MSC they would have same dimension requirements on their websites and they do not
The green gas stations are weird about the size of their pictures, they were with the previous MSC too. There are picture size settings on your phone, you set it to the largest size possible, you can always make them smaller for ease of loading later. the camera on my phone is set to take pictures at 3072 x 4080. On my tablet they are 2576 x 1932.

It sounds to me as if they are looking for the smaller side to be over 1800. So I would never know the difference until the Presto app changes the size of the pictures for easier loading. I have learned from making many mistakes, that taking pictures in app leaves you with no options if they ask questions and ask for additional pictures or pictures you may have missed. Take the pictures on your device, upload the pictures from the device that you used to take the pictures, so there are no other programs artificially modifying the size of your pictures. If you send pictures in email or text, almost all of these programs resize the pictures for easier loading.
You can resize in MS Photos, which is the Windows default viewer. Click the ... at the top and choose resize.
Had this problem, doesnt matter if the app or website is used...my camera's selfie size is too small. Workaround is using my rear camera.

FYI: My phone doesnt allow changing by high/low definition...it allows changing ratio. For areas with bad data using my 9/16 or 3/4 settings creates good pics at half the file size to upload. In an area with two wavering bars this can mean the difference of half an hour sonetimes when involving 15-20 shot upload shops.
****Update for everyone***** I received an email today from IPSOS today and they are going to pay me for the shop and they said that they have contacted Presto about fixing the resolution for the shop. Just a reminder if you get your shop rejected by Presto make sure you file to have it rechecked.

Awesome news! Thanks for the update.
I had the same error and I used Square Fit Video Photo Editor on my IPhone 11 Pro and put the photo on a black backdrop and reloaded it and it was fine. It says expected pay but I am not sure it has been fully approved yet.

Expected pay is simply the total of fee plus reimbursed expenses. If they approve it, that is what you will get. Hopefully they will.
Presto is glitch nightmare. My wife just finished a long distance inspection. She uploaded all the information and then tried to submit the survey only to get a SORRY something went wrong message that says to alter the report so it can save and update then try to re-submit. So for over an hour we are trying different browsers then tried the APP. Same result. At this point the clock is running down and the survey is due, but we cant submit the finished report ? So she deleted all the pictures and uploaded again this time the system showed uploaded 43 out of 44 items and got stuck again. Also PRESTO loads pictures sideways when you use windows 10. I had a reviewer telling me to fix the sideways pictures. I had to explain I could not fix the issue because it between PRESTO and windows 10 communication. I am not going to do any more long distance trips for PRESTO its too flaky and there is no guarantee of pay since the system is malfunctioning so badly. I simply cannot believe that Ipsos is relying on PRESTO for shops that require so much information to be uploaded. They recently added another shop program to presto , but I will not work those shops anymore because PRESTO will deny things as duplicate when it is not. It will not allow report submission sometimes and then you have to worry about the count down clock. If the time expires while PRESTO is flaking the reviewer will say the survey has been re-assigned. My wife sent 4 emails trying to get help with PRESTO. Only take small jobs you can afford to lose if PRESTO is having a bad day.

I am unclear whether you finally got this to go through or if the clock ran out. When you get that error, there should be a link in the pop-up error message that takes you to the section that is hanging up. The link will say something similar to "Go to this section." Those aren't the exact words, but it is something similar. Click on that link. When the section loads, change an answer. It should not matter which answer. The important thing is that you allow Presto to save the change. It will tell you that it is saving. Once it is done, change the answer back to the correct answer. Make sure you allow Presto to save the corrected answer, then click out of that section and go back to the survey to submit. The error should be clear.

It seems this error generates when you click out of a subsection of the survey before the survey has had a chance to save. Then, when you try to submit, the survey hangs up. Once you follow the directions I've provided, it clears the error and you can successfully submit. I typically only see this error with green audits, but it likely could pop on any survey where there are subsections.

I'm remembering now why I avoid Presto like the plague.

I work hard enough doing the shops. I shouldn't have to stand on one foot, face due north, flap my arms like a chicken, and hum Yankee Doodle Dandy in order to get them submitted. That's too many hoops for me to jump through.

That's too many hoops for me to jump through...especially while standing on one foot.
In the future remember Presto saves the photos on your phone. Use whatever website to resize them, or download them to a computer to resize them. They may lose some quality, but not enough to matter, especially as it is their fault. Glad it was resolved.
I found out that I can complete the report on my PC at home if I have an issue with the app hanging up on a photo. I've saved it, and finished once home. Don't know if it would work for all of the problems, but it did for me a few times I've encountered issues. I agree, you never know what you're going to get with a Presto shop. I have done a ton though with no issues at all and enjoy the fast pay.

Ok, since we're on the subject of Presto's inefficiencies and the possibility of even more Ipsos shops being on it, maybe someone here can tell me about "Check in."

As we know, Presto needs full bars of reception to function at all and the location function takes about five minutes to catch up to your actual location for checking in. I always "report" a location issue when it tells me I'm in the wrong place and have never had it questioned. This is 95% of the time.

So my question is: Can I skip the check in onsite and check in later at home on the computer where the mobile site works best and just report the location issue? Or will the time of check in be a problem?

I'd like to skip Presto all together while on the road and do all the online stuff at home, where it works better and so much faster.
Never mind. I have access to the rules now and found that, for they specific project that I wanted to know about, check in absolutely has to be done on site, if nothing else.

Sounds like you already figured it out, but to confirm, yes you must check in on site. That's the one part of the app that is necessary while on site. Otherwise, you can snap pictures, write down data, and input all of that from home. That's what I do. Except on the red/blue audits that were on there in July. I did those in the app while on location because the form was simple, and I did not have any errors with the app.

Normally if it says I'm at a wrong location, I close out of the app, re-open and try again. It normally goes through.
