Confero Pay Issues Resolved

I am sorry to say as of today I have to put Confero on the not paying as agreed list. Unfortunately they are not responding to emails. They have partial paid for the last several pay periods. My 30+ years of shopping experience tells me they are in financial trouble and will at some point stop paying altogether. I suggest not getting too far in your shopping with them because you might not get paid.

UPDATE: No payment- No response.

I have noticed that I had shops due for payment 11/30 show as paid 12/1/23. This payment is. It showing up in my PayPal account. When I contacted PayPal they state the payment was sent but not funded. I have yet to receive any response as of this morning. I have emailed now 6 times. Called and left messages everyday since 11/30/23. Can you hear the crickets?
Update: RESOLVED

I received an email from Elaine Buxton, CEO of Confero. Her response was apologetic and she advised me that Confero was making several program changes and that caused some issues with pay. She apologized for the inconvenience and the lack of timely response. Those issues have been resolved for me and I have received full payment for all shops performed. I will continue to work with Confero as I have for over 25 years. I have been assured by other Confero schedulers and employees that they are a viable business and are working on streamlining communication.
I hope you are right, but I am dropping them. This is the third month in a row that I have not been paid on time. They told me last month that the problem had been resolved, but payment was due today and, again, no deposit.

EDIT: I sent them an email at 8:00 pm last night. I did not get a reply, but I did get a deposit at 10:15 pm. I guess someone is reading the emails.

I am glad the pay issue was resolved.

But there seems to be something afoot there. I don’t mean to read too much into it (as I probably am going to detail how I read too much into it below) but there are some troubling things about them.

These are just my observations

First and foremost is the Shopmetrics platform. Best I can tell, there are no jobs; visit or online/telephone.

Secondly, when I log onto their SASSIE site, there is a listing for a Zoom meet up. It happened in October.

Thirdly, there was a shop that piqued my interest for a religious institution. When you looked at the details of the shop (as I did last week), the details said that the shop was for a service that took place earlier in the month.

Aside from the Shopmetrics thing, all of this could be attributable to the holidays and the staffing levels not getting back to the pre-pandemic numbers. But other MSCs seem to have righted the ship in that regard.

And one other thing I’ve noticed is probably not out of the ordinary but I was on my way home from the border and I checked an app on my phone that had a pizza shop that paid really, really well for something like five minutes of work. I snagged it and ate very good pizza that night. I didn’t know it was a Confero shop until I got home. There was a different company listed.

Some of my earliest work I did in this business was for Confero. I find their reports to be very easy to fill out. The few interactions I’ve had with them have been nothing but positive and I hope to do a lot more work for them in the future. But I think they need to up their game a bit in the back office. There are some things that are head scratchers.

I did the very same thing...sent them an email at night on the 15th due to no pay....no response, but payment in my Paypal the very next morning. So you're right, someone is reading their emails, thankfully!
Got paid today. It was paid at 59 days after the shop. Good to see they’re paying. I thought they may have also paid me for November work as well but I’ll take it.
The automated email I received from PayPal this morning had the following note:

"This payment was originally sent to you on 12/15/23 and did not process through correctly. We have recalled it and are resending it here. Happy holidays and thank you for shopping for Confero!"

This is the first I've heard about a payment from the 15th.

If your path dictates you walk through hell, do it as though you own the place. -unknown
