Confero not paying

Well, here we go again. I am supposed to be paid between the 25th and the 30th for the shops I worked for the first two weeks in December. So far, no payment. The shops have shown as pending for almost a week. I contacted the scheduler and she told me that they have until the end of today to post to PayPal. Have any of you received your payment? This is getting ridiculous.

I had to check, but I only had one shop for them last month, and it was after December 15. I won't be paid until next month.

Never Complain, Never Explain.
I did two shops, one on 12/4 and one on 12/15, that have been in a payment pending status since the last time I checked (which was probably at least a week ago.)

Previously, I did a shop on 10/26 that my shop log lists paid on 12/15; however, I didn't actually receive payment via PayPal until 12/19. The note in PayPal said: "This payment was originally sent to you on 12/15/23 and did not process through correctly. We have recalled it and are resending it here. Happy holidays and thank you for shopping for Confero!"

My next shop was done on 11/10 and I was paid (correctly the first time) on 12/26.

Does this mean Confero is having money problems? Are they just lazy with accounting, and hoping to hang on to the money as long as possible for those extra few pennies in earned interest? I don't know. It does give me pause, though.

They owe me over $900 for December 1st through 15th. I have shops scheduled with them for tomorrow. I called the scheduler and canceled them. I have mystery shopped for over 25 years and never canceled a shop but I have always been paid in the past. For the last three months, I have emailed their payroll department repeatedly and never received a response.
thanks for the heads up- sorry they are not paying on time. I was considering taking a shop or two from them- think I will forget it now. Not good business practice not to pay on time!
If Brookshire knew this, I guarantee they would be upset, knowing they were not paying the shoppers on time!
My shop log says I was paid on 1/31. PayPal says my account balance is $0. I guess those payments "did not process through correctly."

Over a period of 15 yrs., I completed 41 jobs for Confero, with 39 being at eateries; all were paid as agreed, with the last being 12/21. Based upon this thread, I would be hesitant, at this time, to accept additional work.

During my almost 21 yrs. shopping, I only recall a single MSC 'fessin' up that the road ahead would be rocky. As I recall, the company, About Face, had been stiffed by a few of their National clients I was so impressed and appreciative of their candor, I continued our relationship.

I just received this email:

"A message from our President:

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing with an apology and with an explanation to clear up payment confusion so everything will be smooth going forward.

If you were due a payment January 25-30, 2024, it did not go out until January 31st. This was an error on my part in scheduling PayPal mass payment batch approvals and I am sorry. Future batches will go out on the correct dates.

As a reminder, here’s a link to our payment policy: [www.conferoinc.com] And here is an example of the payment schedule:

Shop date/report submitted: Payment released to PayPal:

1st – 15th of March On or around April 25th – 30th

16th – 31st of March On or around May 10th – 15th

In November 2023, we made some additional projects available on the Presto app. On the app, you can instantly assign yourself to a shop, complete it and be paid in 3 days. That is a requirement of the app and is the way the app works. Some of our projects are also available on both Presto and Sassie. If you are interested in quick payment, on-demand shop availability and require no assistance with scheduling, please see the Presto app for available shops. Presto shops are completely self-service. Shops on Sassie are offered the traditional way and pay according to the published pay schedule above.

We are working to revise our shopper payments communications. When questions were posed in to shopperpayments@conferoinc.com, most questions were answered using the notes section that went along with payments in PayPal. We have learned that many shoppers do not receive the notes, as they do not receive or have turned off email notifications inside PayPal. This may have led some shoppers to believe we were not communicating. Stay tuned for an update to provide a more seamless communication process.

I deeply appreciate the shops and audits you have conducted for our clients. Our clients’ customers are experiencing better customer service, and our clients have more compliant operations inside their locations. You make a difference, and I thank you.

Wishing you all the best for 2024,

Elaine Buxton | President"

ETA: She put every shopper's email address who got this into the CC portion of the email header. -facepalms-

This is what she said. I was due a payment yesterday for shops worked December 16th through December 31st. Again, I didn't receive it. I have contacted both email addresses about my missing payment and have received no reply. I wonder what the excuse will be this time.
