Sinclair?

Anyone shop for them? I recently got an email from them and wanted to make sure they were legit before I signed up. The email asks me to email them my info, instead of signing up online somewhere.

If you are talking about Sinclair Customer Metrics they are a very good company. They pay a little slow at least 60 days, but their checks are good. I have done a lot of shops for them their reports take a little extra time.

I have done some work for them, but there are only 2 shops they have in the area and one I can actually do.

Pay consistently but not fast. Forms are fairly basic and not too much narrative for the one I have completed. The between the shop and the form it is usually only 20-25 minutes. Pay is $8 plus reimbursement so fine for that length of work. Not sure how other shops pay.
SIX hour warning if you work for them. They are a good company and they do pay but watch the clock!
I just completed my first 5 shops for Sinclair. Initially, I found it time consuming to read the information and take the quiz for each client, but once that is done, you are certified to shop and self schedule for that client on an ongoing basis. I prefer this type of approach in the long run, because it tells me that they are more particular about who shops for them. The reports did not require much narrative and are easy to work with. I had to contact the schedulers by email a few times and they replied promptly. There is a link on each job posting that allows you direct access to the scheduler, which is a plus. I also like how you can select your area and the clients you want to work for in advance. Overall, I find them to be a very professional and well run company, based on their website, qualification requirements and quick response from schedulers. The shops pay average with a reasonable reimbursement allowed.
I love doing shops for Sinclair. Sinclair introduced me to Mystery Shopping over two years ago.

Just make sure it's the same company! Many scammers "borrow" names of legitimate companies. What you're describing is fairly unusual, as you normally sign up online, not give information through email. I have shopped for the real Sinclair, but most certainly was not recruited via email. Look at the email closely -- there are often clues.
Thats what I was thinking. The email address is from @Sinclair. But no where in the email is a link to their site.

Does anyone have the site address for the legitimate company?

I also saw that there's another mystery shopping company with "Sinclair" in the name, though I'm not familiar with them. However, it does look like Sinclair Customer Metrics has recently been used for scamming purposes. A letter purporting to be from the company was posted on the ScamWarners site.

Looks very much like the email I posted the other day, which a friend received from another company. If your email looks like either of these, (which I'm thinking it does), the answer will be clear.

Just remembered this thread when I was looking at their e-mail. I have worked for them, but the e-mail comes doesn't say Sinclair. The schedulers are from @scmcontact.com and the company itself comes from @ssanet.com. So if it said @sinclair, it isn't them.

I received an email today from Bobby Withrow, Account Assistant, Sinclair Customer Metrics saying they need shoppers in my area. I was going to register to become a mystery shopper but stopped when it came to a place on the form I was to enter my social security number. No way I'm giving that to anyone. If they do not take out taxes as they say they don't what do they need my SS# for? I wonder if this was a scam or have you been asked for your SS# to register? Thanks for your help.
1) They are required to report your earnings to IRS as even an Independent Contractor if they pay you $600 or more during the calendar year.
2) Requiring your SSN allows the to verify that you are, indeed, eligible to work in the USA.
3) Having a SSN that matches your name prevents shopper fraud by shoppers signing up under multiple names to avoid receiving 1099s, working even when they are out of rotation for a particular location or continuing to work after they have been terminated by a company.

Sinclair is legitimate, Bobby Withrow is legitimate and no, it is not a scam.

You can readily spot the scams because they don't send you to a website on a recognized list of legitimate companies and in fact usually request what little information they want by email.
I signed many years ago, and work for them off and on, having done about 5 shops over the last couple months....love their stores.

Live consciously....
Bobby with row is a Sinclair scheduler but always go directly to a company.s website never use the email link provided. The correct mail address can be found in the official list of mystery shopping om panties below.

That said, Sinclair is one of the best companies to work for. I have never had any difficulties with them. They pay at the end of the following month so shops done Dec 1 - 31 will pay at the end of January.

Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just forget to load the film.
I will add that they're one of the companies who make it easy to track your income and verify that it's correct. They separate out fees and payment, and make the information available on the site.

Sinclair is not the only company to require an SS#. With some forms, you can get away with supplying a dummy number, but you'll have to correct it in order to get paid. As stated in this thread, you do have to be careful that you're inputting any personal information through a form, and on a legitimate site.
Love Sinclair...easy to deal with schedulers. The only problem I have is one of their clients will only let shoppers do two banks in one day. Sometimes these are a distance from me and I would like to be able to do more than two. But that's a client thing, not Sinclair. From time to time I have had a bit of a snag with their site, but nothing serious. And they are always understanding. Love'em

The Sinclair I shop for only has great stores in The Mall at Short Hills, free standing locations but no banks. How do you find those?
Their system can be fussy but overall Sinclair is lovely to evaluate for. I look forward to them 'cause I find them almost relaxing.
nice to now about Short Hills for when I am visiting my brother. The banks are in my area. PM me and I will share with you. I think you have to take a certification quiz and then they will show up on your job board.
Hello Marijaldm,
Please feel free to contact me regarding the bank shops at Sinclair.
Shelly: is correct, our email addresses will all be "true names" First Initial & Last Name@scmcontact.com and we all have one number: 800 600 3871 Ext ??? per scheduler.
Shops are paid on the 25th of the following month the shop is completed. Jan in Feb, Feb in Mar,Mar in Apr, etc. All checks are sent that day. It does not vary from shopper to shopper or State to State.
Nicelytwicely: is also correct, You can track payment, receipt status, and check numbers from you shopper page. There is also a "Issues" link you can click on to see if there are any issues with shops before the checks are cut.
Hope this helps.
