Editor not replying to questions for clarification on a Ipsos interest rate shop… insanely frustrated!

Hey all;

I’m at a loss for what to do here… I’ve rarely felt treated just absolutely so poorly by an MSC in over 10 years of shopping fairly regularly and I’m not sure who I can contact. It’s hard to explain gracefully, so I’ll give the play by play below…

I took a bundle of 4 shops for Ipsos involving getting interest rates for various lenders. You go to their website, plug in your info, take screenshots of what their offers are and fill out the shop detailing the offers and interest rates provided. If they ask for more financial information or if you are denied, you submit the shop as such, because to get the rates you were supposed to increase your income until you received an offer — so even if you tried to verify your income, it wouldn’t go through. There is a space for comments at the bottom — limited to 250 characters max. You are supposed to “detail your customer experience” there — but 250 characters provides for a very limited explanation.

Anyway, 3 of the 4 went off without a hitch. 2 of them provided offers, so I submitted the screenshots and shop form stating so, and the 3rd declined me so I submitted that. All 3 shops accepted and approved within a day.

The 4th one was a bit different. The site initially provided a screen with an “offer” — but when I clicked on it for further details, it took me to a second screen stating that I needed to provide more financial information to proceed, verify my bank accounts with Plaid etc.

On the shop form, I submitted screenshots of both screens. I put in the information from what I did have from what it started to tease me with of an offer (eg. It showed what the APR and credit limit would be, but not the specific processing fees and terms etc. because to get those it brought up the income verification screen) — and the information that I did not have, I left blank. In the 250 character overview, I noted that I only provided information that I had available as the site asked for more information to proceed after it initially provided an offer. If you actually looked at the screenshots, it should be obvious what was going on here.

3 days later, it comes back back to me needing clarification, with a note from the editor “Since you have received an offer, you need to fill out all of the fields with the information you have obtained. Please include the additional information, and resubmit”. I reply back to the e-mail very politely, stating that I did fill out the form with all the information that I obtained. To get any additional information, it asked me to verify my financial information — and per the shop, the only option there is to mark that I didn’t receive an offer. It looks like I received an offer, although it’s not a fully complete one. Can you look at the screenshots and let me know how to proceed? A day later, there is still no response, so I update the shop stating as much in the 250 character space on the form, and resubmit it — hoping that they will understand and actually look at the screenshots and decide what information they could use — or just tell me to mark it as no offer received as really I didn’t get a full offer that gave me all the details that they asked for.

2 days later I get another incomplete e-mail — the editor again says she needs all of the blank fields filled in. “AGAIN, I need to know ALL of the information from the offer you obtained”. I reply to her email and state “I don’t think I obtained an offer then. If I click on the screen that shows the credit limit and APR I would receive, it takes me to a screen to verify my income — so I can submit it as no offer received and it needs more information, or I can submit it as this is the offer I received, but it is not providing me all the information that you want. How would you like me to proceed?”. 2 days later, I still haven’t had a reply to my e-mail.

I go in, edit the incomplete shop, but this time I mark it as “no offer received, more verification documents needed” — because I really haven’t received an offer that gives me all the details they want (I have most of them, but not all of them, and the editor has made it clear she wants ALL of them for it to be a valid offer — and it asks for more financial verification when I try to get that info) and submit the shop as such. I include the screenshot of the page that is asking for the financial verification. The same thing I did with one of the other 3 who straight up gave me a denial and it was immediately approved. I noted in the 250 character limit overview area exactly why I was submitting it as such.

It sits for 4 days — until yesterday — when the editor replies “I cannot accept this. I asked you to provide all of the additional information from the offer you received, and I just received back an edited shop that is contradictory. Next time, please provide all of the information requested for clarifications when they are needed.”.

At this point — I’m absolutely livid — but I responded nicely “Didn’t you receive any of my e-mails? I also made sure to note why I was submitting this as I did in the shop comments — which unfortunately are limited to 250 characters, so it’s sort of hard to explain more complex situations — but I did update the screenshots so you should be able to see what is going on. I really would appreciate it if you could let me know how to proceed in a situation such as this — because the lender site is not responding in a way that is easy to put into the shop form as it is set up. I’ve completed 3 of these shops before with no issues, so I would like to figure this out”. No response.

So that’s where I’m at. This is a $60 shop and I spent 3x more time on it than the other 3 $60 shops combined (now about 4x if I include this post lol). It appears the editor has ZERO knowledge about how to read… or infer information from screenshots (isn’t that why they are asked for?). Or respond to shopper e-mails. I really want to shame her here and see if anyone else has had issues — although over the years I really, really try not to do that… although this is a woman I’ve never dealt with before or seen her name. I know Ipsos is a giant company — is there someone I can e-mail and explain this whole thing to? Or should I just chalk this up to being screwed on a shop every once in a while? I just want to throw my computer lol

Thanks!

Classic Ipsos. Your best bet is to get the project manager involved. You might have to go back and forth a few times, but you stand a better chance of receiving your rightful pay with a PM. I would not have touched this project with them so I don't know who the PM is. Hopefully another shopper can tell you. I'm sorry for all you frustration. It's what they do.
Thanks… I’ve actually had pretty good luck with them until now. This is the Sassie side, which used to be GfK I believe… usually the shop goes right through and pay is in a couple weeks.

The ShopMetrics side I’ve had some weirdness with, but I don’t do a lot on that side, and do t have a lot of experience with it.

Yeah if anyone knows the PM, let me know.
Is it Karen Holland perhaps? I haven't done any of these but I think I remember getting an email from her about them. I actually am going to go back and look in my deleted emails and see if I can find that information.

Okay, I can't find any emails for your project specifically, but I did see on the job board a personal loan shop for IPSOS that lists Karen Holland as a contact for the project, so I think it's likely she's in charge of the one you did as well. But even if not, I am sure she will know who to contact to help you.

This is Karen's project and she is AWESOME. Just email her directly. Or you might even see her pop up in this thread. @KarenSchedulesForIpsos

Yes I did look and she is the one who scheduled it — I’ll reach out.
I'm the project manager and reached out to you @ngbmediashop - please get back with me. I don't have all of the information needed to make your shop work.
I just wanted to update that both Karen and Diana were super helpful in figuring this out, and I was able to get the shop accepted. Thanks!
