Sassie on the phone

I don't do much Sassie work just every now and then. I am used to using apps like Go Spot Check and Mobi Audit.

Did an audit today and using Sassie in my phone is driving me nuts.

I add pictures, they are there, I go to take some shots outside of the app and when I come back they are gone.

Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I can't waste time finishing jobs at home, I need to be done and submitted before I leave.

Look like some of my pictures are there but half my answers are gone. This website rendered for a phone is garbage. How do you folks that use it do it. Very frustrating.
Are you saving the report along the way? I've never done an audit through Sassie. I've never entered a Sassie report on my phone.

Please don't feed the MSF trolls!

Feeding the MSF trolls bread or other human food is detrimental to their health and the environment. It can lead to malnutrition, disease, and behavioral problems in trolls, as well as water pollution and the spread of pests. Trolls are capable of finding their own food sources and don't require human assistance.
Yes, I made sure to save a few times so it wouldn't time out. After awhile the only option I was getting was submit even though the questions were not all answered.

Has to be some trick here as it was almost non-functional.
Sorry, hopefully someone knows.

I use the website for sassie on my phone. i just upload pics and save. Then I go answer yes/no questions. i usually do not submit final report from phone, but i try to answer all the yes/no and uploads from phone. then i do my narrative on a desktop and submit.

Are you using an app or the same website you would if you were using a laptop/desktop?

It appears to be the same site rendered for a phone. Not all my pictures saved properly. They were there then gone. The problem always seemed to come when I opened the camera out of the webpage then went back.

Maybe all these sassie sites could pitch in and pay for a real app. It really leaves me having to pick and choose jobs due to the extra time I will have to spend at home. I do almost all revealed work so for me this is a big problem. I don't do narrative jobs anymore, I would understand completing that part on a computer.
It doesn't matter if I use my apple or my samsung...when clicking on upload, it opens another browser window. I just make sure to upload and then come back to the report. I have not had any issues.
Presto is the Sassie "App" but not all jobs are on it. For the web Sassie jobs, you cannot upload more than one pic at a time. Like hbbigdaddy (anyone thing of Golden Girls?) said, there's a separate upload window. You have to wait for that upload to go through before attempting another or else it will wipe out the upload that was in progress. Also, it might depend on the phone type, I find if I use another phone function (camera mostly) while using Sassie, the other function will interfere, cancel, or sign out Sassie and all data will be lost unless it was manually saved after every input.
Yeah, it has to be something about the way I am moving around through different apps/windows. I did the first job so know know the required pictures. I guess I will just take a bunch of pictures first so I never have to open a different window. I don't really think I need to save all the time as long as I am actively entering stuff.

I have 4 more of these to do, I will probably have it sorted out by then. Just frustrating to watch a picture upload, see it, then not see it. I had to cancel a gas station audit because of the issue. It was a long one and if I would have printed it, it would have been 60 pages of paper. I rarely print guidelines these days unless I do it for show when I want to carry a clipboard. Amazing how a clipboard with some paper on it (in addition to the LOA, if there is one) seems to give folks a sense of calm when you show up for revealed stuff they never got the email about.

Other companies see the value in using a proper app for their jobs. The Sassie platform is not an app, it is a web page that kind of works on a phone. I guess not all companies see the value in providing good tools for folks doing work for them in the field.

Yes, that is pretty much what I am seeing. Page just seems to refresh with data not manually saved being lost. My jobs are with Confero. I don't see any mention of Presto on their site.
If you are going to do SASSIE reports from your phone, DO NOT use the "take picture" function within the SASSIE shop form for your photos.

Grab all your shop photos directly on your phone and then upload to the report.

Unlike Presto, which does save in-app photos to your phone's library, the iSecretShop app and the SASSIE website do not.

Have synthesizers, will travel...

Yea I always find myself having the most issues in areas with little to no network access. Also sometimes when I take pictures the app would close and reopen and I'll have to take the photo again. I've started doing what some of the other shoppers recommend which is to take the pictures on site and then name them (If I have multiple shops that day) and wait til I get home to upload them

The whole thing I want to avoid is having to do anything at home. I am used to working on an app where you submit prior to leaving and the job is done.

As I mentioned, if narratives are needed that is an different animal. I would never do much more than a short paragraph on my phone. At one time I was pumped to try hotel type jobs, but that urge has since faded.

Customer impact and Alta360 figured out having a good app gets their jobs done efficiently. I just don't understand why more companies don't get on board.

I tried a job on Presto once but found it clunky and got frustrated. I took all my pictures and split. By the time I drank myself into a better attitude and went to finish submitting it, it had timed out. That was years ago so maybe it has gotten better.

I have been there when I was doing work in Ohio and Northern Michigan. Those phone company maps flat out lie. Lucky for me (or is it) I am in the Metro Detroit area.

I am sure I will have a better handle on it after doing a few more jobs. Or at least know exactly its capabilities and what shortfalls cannot be overcome.

Unless you are doing a job which requires (creative) writing, there is no reason in 2025 that these jobs can't be completed properly on location.

My fee structure is all about time. If I have to calculate time at home to complete stuff, most of these jobs would not pay enough for me to be able to do them.

I have got a plan for the one I am doing today, we will see if it goes smoother. I ended up missing one picture yesterday (guess the place has a tea machine that brews tea and a tea machine it sits in) I shot the sitter but not the brewer. It was at the end and I was getting real pissed at my disappearing pictures and I missed that picture request. By then I had just started shooting everything I though was relevant.
OK, Supra, let me see if I can help. First, I don't see very well anymore, even with good readers and extra large screen phones, I can't see well enough to use Sassie to fill reports. Sassie's platform works well on mobile devices, but it resets often, even if you don't save your work regularly. They used to say to save your work every 30 minutes when you're filing reports on your desktop computer, you should cut that to 10 - 15 minutes when you're using a mobile device. Because of my poor eyesight, I bought a 10" Samsung Tablet, and I set the thumbnail size to the largest available, and if you swipe down on the thumbnail page it makes them a bit larger still.

What I do, and it works on the phone too, I open the shop, put in the date and time, then save it. I go into the gas station, introduce myself and provide the LOA. Then I take the inside pictures (at least 2 of each), then the outside pictures (again, 2 - 3 of each), and then I return to my vehicle and open up the shop again to fill out the report. But VERY often, that 10 - 15 minutes while I'm out of my car is enough for the Sassie platform to reset and make me sign back in before completing the shop. I've even had it reset while I'm filling out the shop and then I lose everything and make me have to start over. That happens most of the time in areas with spotty or weak cell phone signal. I have adopted the practice of saving my progress several times when I'm having to wait for uploads a lot, usually 3 or 4 times during the report. And if that doesn't work, I take even more pictures, and then go to where there is better signal or the nearest Lowe's parking lot to enter the info in the report.
Thanks, That is kind of what I am figuring out. Save early and often even though there is clear activity and the page should know you are actively doing stuff. I got through one yesterday with no glitches. I was onsite for 30 minutes and probably saved about 6 times.
I imagine one day the will be a real app for all these companies but right now the ones that use Go Spot Check and Mobi Audit are ahead of the game and certainly make my life easier.
I've done some shops for a pizza place and I wound up having to resort to using my laptop. I would upload a pic, it would sometimes freeze, or boot me out of the system telling me I was not logged in, then wipe out whatever I entered. I spent over 30 mins one night trying it on my phone before deciding it wasn't worth the battle, giving up and using the laptop.

I was having all those problems. I just realized that if I wanted to take an outside picture save first. Yes, the page seems to get confused very easily if you do any other activity on your phone, while a real dedicated app does not care. I was having the freezing issue during uploads as well.
