Corporate Research Intl.

Oh my goodness. I did a shop last Thursday and submitted it within a couple of hours, turned in my receipt, etc. and then checked the website today to see if everything had been received. There was a BIG RED message that said "shop cancelled do to shopper error." I have not received an email or anything from them and cannot imagine that I did anything horrible. Anybody else had this problem? I mean, I would think I would at least have received an explanation. If I don't know what I did wrong, it will be hard to correct it next time.

Hi - when you go on the CRI website, there is a box in the upper right hand corner for chat. You can get in line and wait to chat, or you can leave a message and they'll email you back. I have no idea what may have happened here. Usually, they've been good to let you know if something else is needed on a shop. However, remember this company recently sold and it has new ownership. They may be changing the way they do things.

Thanks to MDavisnowell, I did use chat and got an answer. This was a purchase and even exchange. When I exchanged it for an identical item for the same price (a different scent) they gave me a receipt for that. It showed the $9.99 return and the 9.99 replacement item. No other receipt was given to me and clearly none would be needed as I now had a receipt for the new item. Corporate Research International wants a receipt for the first purchase, which I had to give to the store in order to make the exchange. In other words, they want something I was not given, so I am out my time and a purchase price
but have learned a very valuable lesson.
Watch out also, they are famous for the invisible emails requesting more info. Ones that never appear in regular or spam email but they say they sent.....
I usually do get an e-mail when I have an issue with a shop such as a missed question and clarification.

Bmac--- was the even exchange part of the shop or something you chose to do? If you were supposed to make a purchase on the shop and instead did an exchange you were not following guidelines. If you made the purchase and decided you wanted something else, you need to get a copy of the original purchase during the time of the shop.

I never let a store have my original receipt back when exchanging or returning, shop or no shop. It's mine to reconcile with my checking account/credit card statement as I see it. I tell them that. All of 'em back down. I've had a few make copies, most just circle the returned item and put a date or "Ret" or some such nonsense.
I have photographed an original receipt before I returned an item, just because I was afraid I would not be given back the original receipt.
