Post Office Buddies!

@Robin2 wrote:

I don't think receiving and consuming food from people met in a forum is a good idea, folks. Please take care.

That is not the idea at all.

For Post Office shops you need somewhere to send it. Sometimes we have a place. Sometimes we don't. For the latter, some of us have agreements with other shoppers to solve that problem. From my experience the contents are worthless items that just get shipped back out the next time a Post Office shop comes along. Eating the expired cake mix that takes up part-time residence in my house never came to mind. There is talk that the "C" shops will change to allow shoppers to ship to destinations of our choice. For any Post Office shop sent to a Post Office buddy I suppose shoppers will not ship anything of value. They will probably ship old newspapers and magazines and the like to Post Office buddies when they don't have a 'real' destination.

There is no rule that you are not allowed to send liquid items. I have asked the current company personally, and it is no where in the guidelines. I was told that was fine. I most frequently send inexpensive bottles of water or soda sealed in plastic ziplock bags from the dollar store. When the question arises, I answer truthfully, and let them know what it is.

I have been doing a lot post shops and now even my brother is sick of receiving packages winking smiley I could use a help of a buddy or two. I am in 20190. I can accept packages for the shelters and can send for the same.

Looking for more MSP in DC metro area.
My current arrangement is coming to an end. So, I need a P.O. Buddy or two. How about more West Coast people? I ship out of codes starting with 950 or 951. But, I only do As and Bs.

Did you plug the zip codes people have been giving into the zone chart site myst4au gave the link to? It looks like I may be zone 4 from you, and some others may work for you too.

You are Zone 5 for me! Yeah. A prospect for Scenario C if we end up being required to find our own Zone 5 or Zone 6 address to ship to.

Out of curiosity, I decided to see which zip codes could ship to you. Almost everyone in Alaska seems to be in Zones 1, 3, 4, or 5 for you. The next lowest Zone is 7, which seems to be for a few parts of Montana, California, Oregon, and Washington. Otherwise, the rest of the US is Zone 8. Since Scenario C has to be in Zones 5 or 6 for full reimbursement, I assume that restricts you to zip codes 999xx? There are only 12, and they are all near the southern end of the Inside Passage area. So I am left wondering if they have had you do any Scenario C in the past?

Shop-et-al, Also, please let us know how the shop goes for you overall. Your feedback could stifle many of the rumors - thanks!

The new company isn't posting any shops until mid to late September, and they will be October shops (per the owner of the new company, so...not a rumor). I believe Shop-et-al was referring to the old company that still has the shops until October 1.

Can you tell me the new company? I have been looking for weeks and can't find it. I loved these shops before and hate to lose them

Linking an MSC and a client on the forum is a big no no that you agreed to abide by when you signed up, as is asking for what MSC shops which companies. And the blue box to the right of any new post says "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies, which telling would do, BUT.....

On page one of this thread,[www.mysteryshopforum.com] a scheduler posted his/her email address so shoppers could email him/her for the information. Try that. If that does not work for you, the name of the company holding the original contract was in the email sent out by the current subcontractor, you could go to their site.

I hope that helps.

Edited to add link to other thread.

I'm in 833xx.

I like the post office buddies idea since I am sure that at some point my sons, DILs, or grand-kids in zone 4 are going to ask me to stop sending bags of candy to them. The ones in zone 8 seldom receive anything, so I guess it isn't fair to them. I have sent the zone 8s a package or two, but don't get reimbursed fully, but it's better than total out of pocket.

I didn't tell them I was sending a package so one son and I had an odd conversation:
Son: Thanks for the candy mom! What's the occasion?
Me: Just cause I love you.
Me: And it was a test.
Son: A test of what?
Me: You passed. :-)
Me: Actually it was the result of a new thing I am doing, I had to evaluate the service at the postal counter.
Son: Lol going to bed, but I don't think we checked mail Saturday, so don't judge to harshly if it was supposed to arrive earlier. I love you.
Me: It had tracking on it. It got there Saturday.
Me: I wasn't too concerned.

Bump! I'm still looking for a PO Buddy or two. Is there anyone in California, Oregon or Nevada wanting to play ping ping with the Scenario As or Bs?

I have a PO Box in Portland, OR and could be interested. PM with a link or more details please.
Honestly they just seemed happy to have anyone in Alaska doing the shops that if I asked ahead of time I was able to send to anyone; so I got a lot of birthday and Christmas packages shipped.

I am in zip code 17402. When I don't have an order I can ship out for a P.O. shop, I could use a buddy! My sister is probably sick of getting books, and if I have to ship to a different zone from her, I'm out of luck.

smiling smiley smiling smiley Lucky, I am from So Cal, live in Denver. I use my friends in TX, OR, CA and MN.. I also have family in NY and FL and a group of online friends from CA, to Canada, and the midwest smiling smiley It's near the holidays so this will be fun !
FYI: ever think about postal codes? So, zip codes start out in the 0 s in the East Coast.. when you hit TX, it's the 8 s and CO is 8.. when you get to So Cal, it's the 9 s.

Also, my dad was born in 1934 in Brooklyn, NY. His SSN begins 123.. my husband was born in WI, his begins 393 .. I was born in CA, mine begins 549.. another few ways to know where people were born and live.
