Thomas Jefferson once said "I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend." I apply that to all facets of my life. I don't base what companies I shop at or who my friends are based on their opinion of such things. I base what companies I shop at on if they treat me well as a customer and provide me with a quality product at a fair price. I base my friends on if I enjoy their company. I also tend to not talk about religion or politics with my friends.
An example, Chick-Fil-A is my absolutely favorite fast food company. The owner's family stance against gay people is very different from my own. That doesn't really affect the fact that they provide excellent service and have a great tasting product. Those two facts are not relevant to each other.

This thread is quickly demonstrating why it's best not to talk politics or religion. I used to be a co-owner of a religious debate community so I know of what I speak. For people who aren't used to that kind of environment it can be a shock to the system.
I don't care about the politics of any companies that I shop. Seriously. I don't have time to police the MSC world worrying about it. I think we get farther being tolerant and loving then protesting. Many of my family are the polar opposites of my political and religious views. They have taught me not to judge by that particular yardstick.

Wow. I don't understand at all what's going on in this thread. People are reading things into other people's posts that don't seem to be there. That is, unless one colors them with his or her own perspective rather than just taking "words on paper" at face value. That's a problem with online communication--it's way too easy to put one's own connotation on something when we can't see other people's faces or hear the inflection of their voices.

I'm also a minister in real life, I have brought up cats, dogs and assorted other animals in the course of my sermons. Naturally, I also cannot leave out goats.

Yes and I used to eat the salad bar lunch at a restaurant whose owner publicly supported a position on abortion that I did not personally hold. I thought about not eating there anymore but decided that since I ate so many portions of the salad for the low price being charged I was actually doing harm to the financial bottom line by eating there. Both are grammatically correct. "couldn't care less" is a bit sarcastic and indicates that you don't care at all. "Could care less" indicates that you care a little, but not very much.
